I’m still shooting my Prime Black 5 and I’m still loving it! The way it holds for me along with the speeds I get with a 30.5 inch draw, I don’t see a need to change bows yet. Great shooting bows for sure
Did the same last year. Sold my mission switch, and wanted a flag ship, shot every bow they had, crazy enough I fell in love with a left over Prime inline 5. The discount I got it for may it about 45% cheaper than the revex and I couldn't find a big enough difference to get the revex over it. Prime has such a great bow!

4404 Franklin S Ct, Franklin, TN 37064, I don't actually work there, they are just my preferred archery shop. Wont find a better one in my opinion. they can work on anything you need. Awesome review. HHA no doubt makes amazing sights. 2 things that bother me. 1. No first axis adjustment 2. I bought the HHA RYZ last year. Now they made the X3. Sucks I have to buy a new sight to run the 3 indicators to match my UV scope.
If it’s a worse dump than the lift 29 then that’s crazy. I shot a lift 29 at my local pro shop at 70lb 28.5 draw and it had a mean hump right before the back wall. I was shooting it and the Hoyt alpha X together.
Oh bro, it's not even close to the Lift. I found the lift to be alright. The PSE s2 Cams would have about 5xs the dump of a normal speed bow. It's nuts and annoying to draw over and over. But if you get used to that, good luck holding it if you are waiting on your hunting shot. Just wasn't for me. But you def wouldn't like it. Just to be clear, its not the EVO, just the S2 cams on the evo. I head other cams are great, but I wouldn't know. Thank you for your comment.
If you would of bought the pse xf with ec2 cam. You would of loved it. The S2 amd E2 cam are harsh drawing. Hard to hold back. I have a pse evl 32 that has EC cam and it draw like butter and hold great.
What happened with the XF is you ordered the wrong cams. You got the E2 cam, which is the fastest cam, but the draw cycle is trash. The good cam for that bow is the EC, which is the evolve cam.
I got the S2 cams, which is the fastest cams. But yea either, way, the crappiest draw cycle. I tried getting the EC2 cams put ont heir but when my bow shop called PSE they told him they didn't recomend it, so idk. But before this, I thought I had a bow with a rough draw cycle "bear Resurgence Dual Cam" and boy was I wrong lol.
@SouthernDrawTN isn't S2 the short draw version of the E2? I was under the impression that that's the case. I run a Prime ION and I'm real happy with it. The old primes like mine are Fire and hard to find 2nd hand. The newer bears look good, so do the Elites even tho their heavy compared to my ion.
Bro, that's the whole reason I ordered the damn things. But for whatever reason, S2 are the "speedcams" and roughest to shoot for sure. I've had about 10 people tell me this after I bought the bow. PJ on Lancaster, I thought said exactly what you are saying so idk man. All I know is, they are extremely rough. Yea I can't wait to go pick my Prime up. I will be trying Elite again, that wasn't a fair comparison. I came from a Bear Resurgence, and it was a good bow. Their customer service is kind of bad though. Thanks for your comments. @@arodriguez2707
Prime really surprised me, ended up grabbing a Revex 6 as a target/hunting hybrid after the pro shop guys talked me into trying it (My last 5 bows have been Mathews) the draw cycle was very smooth but what sold me was how well it held
Man me too. i haven't held it longer then 30 seconds. but I did hold it exactly 30 seconds off cam, and that's one of the things that suprised me. I'm guessing because of their grip. Solid bow bro. The thing is, there aren't alot of Prime bow vids either. So i plan to upload more once I get it Friday. Can't Wait!!!
Prime is a sleeper for sure. The center grip is a big deal if you give that some time and take the time to get used to the string angle that results from the center grip.
It's the only nice bow I've ever owned. I absolutely love it. I haven't shot hoyt, bowtech, expedition, carton but I've pretty much shot everything else at a bow shop. I feel these shoot the best. Love there grip and balance.
@@SouthernDrawTN They are very good. I live out west where Hoyt has a big presence, and they are also very, very nice bows. If you get a chance one day, try out a Hoyt too.
You should have shot the lift33. That 29.5 looked tiny and not a good string angle for you. I’m sure the prime felt way better being a 32” ATA. Also I’ve had zero issues shooting a 33” ata in a treestand or a popup. Enjoy your Prime tho. I’m sure it’s an awesome bow!
It didn't break, was most likely the limb pockets popping from the shop adjusting draw weight without loosening the locks. Or they didn't have the draw length mods seated right etc...
@@DanielParker615 I don't think it is smoother, riser is practically the same as the EVO XF. And the specs Identical. They added a new grip, picatinny rails , EZ 220 and I think they added IMS and C.O.R to the back.
@@DanielParker615 sorry, 28,5, and, as per WA regulations, 60#. Went with S2 for performance. If we were allowed 70 I bet I'd be shooting the EC2 cams.
I'm not a brand loyalist, but I always want my riser to be as close to a target bow as a hunting bow can get. So I shoot a Bowtech ss34 & hopefully an sx80 in the near future.
I prefer a longer ATA bow. I shot a 41" ATA Mathews Signature for 17 seasons. I could rest my chin on it when sitting in a tree stand. Still miss that a bit. LOL! I have no brand loyalty. I shot all brands when I bought my Prime Impact in 2013. 35" ATA, 6.25" brace height, 340 fps, & 4.5 pounds. Today's longer axle Prime bows have about the same specs. Spec-wise bows have changed very little in over 10 years. I don't see myself buying another bow in my lifetime. Longer ATA just feels more stable, less string angle, & smoother to me. There a reason target bow have longer ATA. I have never seen the need for short bow, unless you want to hunt from a low ground blind. I hope you enjoy your new Prime. Lifetime free cables/string is a nice perk, too.
Yea its crazy because when i shot the 33 inch PSE evo, i never noticed a big difference from my old 30 inch bow. I guess it varies from person to person. I also do in fact hunt ground blinds and thickets in the south.
How tall are you if you dont mind me asking? 41 ATA seems like such a large bow, but i've never shot anything over 33 so take that with a grain of salt. Glad you found the bow for you, but really curious how tall you are vs. the 41 ATA bow lol. Thank you for your comment. God Bless.
Has anyone ever mentioned it looks like you draw full throttle and crash into the back wall violently! Hard to tell from video but that may be something to look at.
You mean, I just draw very aggressively? I never felt like that, until I started shooting that PSE, just feels like it dumps hard, or do you mean on all the bows?
@@SouthernDrawTN Yes. It looks to me like that’s why you about cracked the cams off that Elite. It’s something I myself have to really watch when I go from my 62# longbow to my 60# 85% let-off Mathews V3- I’ll load up back tension out of habit, and about rip the string off the bow! Those who you shot with in-person should be able to see this occur easily. It’s hard to tell on video. But it could also be why you have so much bow arm wobble after full draw. when you come back like that and smash off the back wall, you’ll resonate the bow so badly it’ll take 5-6+ seconds to settle it down again, if you can at all. Hope that helps
@@SouthernDrawTN I believe the Envision has adjustable mods where you loosen and adjust the DL and back wall feel too. I would bet money it was a set screw not tightened or seated in that cam, and when you crashed the wall it seated it real fast! You didn’t break anything I’m guessing.

Prime makes a very nice bow, had a Prime Black 5 a few years ago and it was very accurate.
I may get to go get mine tomorrow if I get paid. Can't wait man.
Yea they make such nasty bows. At least this one I can vouch for. I'm a PRIME boy moving forward. i will shoot other bows to try them still, but man, I just don't feel the stability on anything else like this one. It's a tank.
Well done man. I literally went through the same process. The bow choose me!!
facts!! Thanks man.
That lift is so much nicer, I've shot all the prime bows for the past few years and I just don't think they feel that much different.
:) Welp, to each their own I guess. Thank you for watching and commenting.
@SouthernDrawTN yea, I think you sold yourself short not shooting the 33. I love mine.
Where are y’all located. And can you work on strother??
4404 Franklin S Ct, Franklin, TN 37064, I don't actually work there, they are just my preferred archery shop. Wont find a better one in my opinion. they can work on anything you need. If it requires parts to adjust weight and DL, they may have to order it but they are mainly Prime, Mathews and PSE, bear dealers. If you live close go talk to them, they'll get you goin. Thanks!
Awesome review. HHA no doubt makes amazing sights. 2 things that bother me.
1. No first axis adjustment
2. I bought the HHA RYZ last year. Now they made the X3. Sucks I have to buy a new sight to run the 3 indicators to match my UV scope.
Hey @chadpooeiger9279, I've never tried one. I'm currently runnign the Blackgold Whitetail Pro sight and it's awesome.
I can hear Michael and Willie at the Den!!
Your video convinced me to give Prime bows a second look.
Thank you, they are great shooting bows no doubt.
I've been eyeing that Prime bow for a while now, might have to pull the trigger after seeing this.
Let me know if you do, thankyou.
Grip on the prime is unreal.
That's a fact. I need to stop squeezin it so hard lol. @@tylerdzugan9596
If you would of bought the pse xf with ec2 cam. You would of loved it. The S2 amd E2 cam are harsh drawing. Hard to hold back. I have a pse evl 32 that has EC cam and it draw like butter and hold great.
That seems to be what most are saying. I did try to replace them with the EC2 cams and PSE said we couldn't for whatever reason.
Love your video style
Thank you Hammadhim.
I've been a loyal Mathews user for years, but this Prime bow might change my mind.
As an avid bowhunter, I appreciate the thorough review.
Thank you for even watching.
I know exactly where that is. Been there a couple of times, subbed
Yea they rock. Tyty
Yea I'm definately going to make sure I try other brands come next "new bow day" hoyts on the radar for sure.
I may go get that same bow this weekend
It's a good one.
Where are you located in Middle Tn
Yup, around that area.
Next time I would also try Bowtech
Lol, my bowtech shop, doesn't accept trade ins, thats the only reason i didn't.
That's actually a really good point lol. I'll maked sure to do that next time i'm up there just because. Thank you.
I've never heard of that archery shop before, but it looks like a great place.
Yea they are great!! Wouldn't of ever picked Prime if not for them.
Have you ever heard of Timberwolf archery?
Bowtech makes a smooth drawing bow
Yea I know man, my local bow shop that sells bowtech, wouldn't of took the trade in though.
What song is that in the background?
Some Random song I liked, its just a royalty free song, nothing fancy.
Nice video!!
I want a prime but no dealers near me.
Thanks man, I wish they had a better way to buy flagship bows honestly.
I can't believe that envision broke like that. That's dangerous
Yea I'm still not sure what happened
It didn't break, was most likely the limb pockets popping from the shop adjusting draw weight without loosening the locks. Or they didn't have the draw length mods seated right etc...
I love my S2 PSE Fortis 33 personally.
Isnt the fortis a smoother version of the evo? I thought i heard that somewhere. Whats your draw length?
@@DanielParker615 I don't think it is smoother, riser is practically the same as the EVO XF. And the specs Identical. They added a new grip, picatinny rails , EZ 220 and I think they added IMS and C.O.R to the back.
that's all that matters, thanks for your comment.
@@Rikceygotcha, what is your draw length?
@@DanielParker615 sorry, 28,5, and, as per WA regulations, 60#. Went with S2 for performance. If we were allowed 70 I bet I'd be shooting the EC2 cams.
I'm not a brand loyalist, but I always want my riser to be as close to a target bow as a hunting bow can get. So I shoot a Bowtech ss34 & hopefully an sx80 in the near future.
Yea, never made it to a bowtech. Fell in love with the Prime. Just went and picked it up yesterday lol.
What archery shop was that looks like this one in middle tn
Archery den
I love Archery Den
Yea they are awesome, thanks for the comment.
God Bless.
Was that sportsman, the first spot
It was yup
G5 owns Prime and everything they make is good, great pick
Yea, they are a good company.
Except their quivers. Hot trash, don't waste the $
Love you bubba keep em coming 🤌
Great info man really love the video
Thank you Roman. Love you too man.
@@doninion_outdoors Thank you man.
@@d123avek1 I think you are right man. I also was shooting 72 pounds all last year and backed this down to 62 because i didn't like the way it felt. Probably why i'm drawing so dang hard. I really appreciate the feedback man.
I hope so because it was hung back up on the shelf lol@@d123avek1
I love the camaraderie among fellow archers in the comments section.
It's amazing and unexptected tbh. Thank you.
Lol, you shooting the bow on the floor was something I'd do, subbed
That was embarrassin lol.
That Elite bow malfunction looked scary, glad you're okay.
Thank you!
You have a nice form, how long have you shot?
Are you serious or busting my balls? If you are serious, I appreciate it. If not, I still appreciate the humor :P. About 1.5 years.
1400?! Just bought the bottomland Mathews 29.5 at my shop for 1250
Primes are cool man!
What shop is that?
After taxes too? If so, I need to know where you got that from for future reference lol. This is a smaller shop though, hence a little higher prices. But you can't beat their service. They are awesome. And I'm willing to pay a few more dollars for better service. Love this spot.
I tried out the prime Ronan and it was a nice bow
Haven't shot one but heard others say they were good.
What was wrong with the Lift bow?
Nothing specifically bro, the Prime just felt like me like I said in the video.
What happened to that Elite bow?
We never figured it out. I just moved on to the next my friend and was glad I didn't get hurt.
Nice video man, keep it up.
Thank you.
Your shooting technique is impressive, keep it up!
Haha Thanks man!
Except holding that grip like your holding onto a wad of money for dear life. Relax that hand.
Again, thanks man. @@gemeni69
@@SouthernDrawTN watch NockonArchery with John Dudley How to properly grip a bow. It’s a great video and Mr. Dudley has been in the game a long time.
I'm ashamed to respond with "That's how I started, was watching his videos" That's the only training i've ever had really. It's just sometimes, you can't really tell what you are doing until someone points it out. At least for me. @@gemeni69
It's all preference man, nice video.
Yea That's true.
You made a good decision
Yea I think so too.
I went into my local shop dead set on walking out with a Mathews or Hoyt and the tech had me shoot the rvx 34 and I was sold instantly
lol, that's sooo awesome. Yea I'm trying to get more people to check them out. They deserve more eyes. Amazing bows man.
You need to make more videos and build your catalog
We plan on it, thank you.
You can't go wrong with any Prime Bow
Prime makes a good bow man.
Agreed.
Yea they do.
That elite bow almost blew up!
It does appear that way.
How in the hell does a bow with a sticker mess up?
Idk man, I dunno. Thank you for comment.
Everyone always talks about the hump, that's in the draw cycle for a reason man.
I just didn't like it. Thank you for your comment.
I wish you would have gone and shot a Bowtech SS, they are fast and smooth, Prime is just smooth and they lie about their FPS speeds via IBO.
Your shooting skills are impressive, do you compete professionally?
Lol, not even close, thank you for the uplifting comment though haha.
Nice video bro
TY.
That elite bow though
About killed me!!
My Omnia made that noise too, wound up being a combination of the string stop and draw mod being loose. I shot a Revex 4 on accident and it wound up hitching a ride home with me. Sold the Omnia the next day. Cant find a bow thats more enjoyable, comfortable, stable, and the draw is just BUTTER. People sleep on Prime, I know I did. Im not loyal to ANY brand, I shoot what feels the best to me.
Yea that freaked me out man. Thought I was about to get my neck chopped off, lol. Yea I heard those Revex's from last year is what kind of started turning people on to Prime bows in general. The RVX series from this year isn't much different from what I understand. I probably could of just bought a used REVEX bow from last year, but at this point, I just wanted to be done with it all, and start practicing. Heck, 5 months in TN and whitetail season opens. I need practice lol. Ty for your comment.
Great form. New Sub :)
HAAHA, Thanks mane!!!
Finally! Someone picks something other than Mathews over and over
Lol, thanks man.
It is different for everyone. The prime is a great bow, but i hope they fixed your draw length it was too long on every bow
Man I thought so too. What do you think? about 1/4 inch? And is it because it was past the corner of my lip? Bro I went into archery shop after archery shop about that PSE and was told "everything is fine, just shoot it". I knew it felt too long, but I like the PRIME better anyways.
@SouthernDrawTN looks like half inch to me, and it's your form that gives it away. You look uncomfortable, and you are leaning forward
I feel like it's because I started shooting that agressive bow, but I'll have to go back and watch some older videos with my old bear bow. I appreciate you pointing that out man. I will focus on not leaning forward and have them look at my draw length when I got pick my prime up. @@jimgaines7839
Play with it, and you will be amazed how well a bow will hold when you find the right draw length that lift was way too long.
Lol, I am leaning over my front foot. You are the first person to every point that out. Just seems crazy i'd be shorter than 27.5 being someone thats 5.10 / 5.11. Can't hurt to try. Thansk for the feedback.@@jimgaines7839
Keep up the good work, not a bad video
Thank you, means more then you know.
Prime making great bows as other manufacturers but nothing cant compare with new Mathews Lift and Title. They are just another level for every other brand
I can't disagree, they definately make great bows. Have you shot the rvx?
Good video my dude
Thank you
Mathews over anything!
I know i know bro. It was close, trust me.
