Two shots in Two days before this big boy fell | Juan Lemus #hunting #blessed
What an incredible experience to be part of. Very thankful to Juan for allowing me to join him on his journey taking down this monster. It was such an awesome few days. Biggest deer i've ever put my hands on. Juan hunted this guy 15 times before finally laying him down, he was incredibly smart and always seemed to barely get away. Appreciate you guys watching, God bless.

    I love my profile platform from Lattitude. I have been stuck hunting some very large trees this year and it does not matter with that platform it just bites any tree and I have complete confidence it's not going to move. I also went with a lot of other lattitude products this year. Between the lonestar saddle, their carbon sticks which were the cheapest of the light weight sticks and well worth the money. I also purchased their Ranger 22 pack which is small but holds a lot of gear. My only complaint is that they only have dump pouches which will fit 40' of rope but you have to cram it in. I ended up putting the modular ultralock bags on my Lonestar which allowed me to carry more stuff on my saddle and less in the backpack.

    • @SouthernDrawTN
      @SouthernDrawTN Месяц назад

      Yea they make quality products man. I'm thinking next year i'm going to try the lonestar, unless something else grabs my attention. How much do you weigh? It will be my 3rd year in the CRUZR Archon and they recommend not using after 5 years. I'll probably sell it and say it has 3 years of use. It will probably last 20 years, i'm 230 pounds though and just would rather have a new saddle every few years lol. I had their sticks and that was the only thing I didn't care for. I they were messing up on me. Didn't like that. Could of been on me, idk. I also got their hang on straps made similar to the ranger pack. It's stupid nice. They are 100 dollars so they should be imo, but they are worth 100 dollars if you ask me.

      @@SouthernDrawTN I'm now 225. This is my first year saddle hunting. I was going to start with a XL menace saddle but before the season I dropped a bunch of weight. I ended up getting the regular Lonestar when it released and been using it all season.

    I went one stick after 5-7 years of fidgeting lower 3rd. (Kinda mid to lower third now) One sticking in my opinion if you can do it comfortably as an individual. Is far superior I used multiple sticks and a platform with a 30 foot rope. Now i one stick with a eastern outdoors one stick and 55 feet of oplux. I havent been 50, havent had a need but i do hunt mountains and id rather have it and not neeed it. Hopefully ever 😂😂😂

    • @SouthernDrawTN
      @SouthernDrawTN Месяц назад

      Lol yea 55 feet may be a little excessive but you never know. I may try one sticking next year. seems like alot more work and alot more sweat during the early season. • @icr4bsi
      @icr4bsi Месяц назад

      @SouthernDrawTN I hunt in similar draws and hollers in KY and wv, I tend to find old logging trails in old oak and go down the 40-50 yards then climb up. Once I'm where I genericly sit (as high as I need to for what ever shot I want) it's usually within 30 yards horizontal from the logging trails. Generally speaking 30 feet has been enough. But I did recently stumble across a set up id absolutely need more rope for. These hollers can get steep lol. When I go to Texas or Alaska I'm on the ground

    • @icr4bsi
      @icr4bsi Месяц назад

      @@SouthernDrawTN If I may, there's a video on here. Something a long the lines of "one sticking so easy a 13 year old could do it" or something to that effect. Take your time. Move slow. The early season green up is deceiving it's equally as hard to climb all year. Take your time. No sweat no sound slow is fast type shit. You can do it I just recommend it for weight reduction. I have a one stick holder for molle I threw on my backpack and I grab it holding all my kit. And walk til I find the sign I like. Pick an ambush angle and chill. Ultra realistically our forefathers didn't and we don't need the technology but it sure makes us look cool right lol

      Also. When I've been 30 feet up in street clothes no scent control I've had deer walk under my tree. Winds a big help, and with the height it's generically blown umpteen yards away and not at a steep enough angle to go straight down unless thermals or water draws it.

      @SouthernDrawTN ya they are popular and the durability and design has improved, but the concept falls apart if the animal is at an angle among other factors. Catching a rib quartering away can make for a bad day. The same is true in expandables generally. Additionally it's a huge loss of KE when the back blades have to be forced open in that way. It's a huge risk just to shoot an expandable. And as always expandables are either hero or 0. They perform perfectly and there is a massive blood trail. Or the deer jumps the string and you cant penetrate the shoulder blade.
