I just used one of these. 70lb draw 421gr arrow at 292 fps. Albeit I didn't have a good shot it was back a little; but it hit ribs and didn't have a full penetration. She took off running with the arrow stuck halfway in her. Someone how it worked its way back and out and diced up her leg /knee.
I had that exact issue last year man. I chased the deer to death lol. Shot her broadside and the sound was strange but felt like it was a good shot. Not realizing it because I'm a newer bowhunter (2 years now), we were just pushing and pushing her thinking we were on a bloodtrail, but the blood was wet even after 800 yards (now I know, that means she's moving spots as we are pushing her lol) After 900 yards we run into a small cliff leading into a lake, she jumps belly flops on a rock from 30ft in the air (arrow hanging out of her leg) and swims to the other side of the river. We ended up getting the boat and coming back to get her and she was dead by then, but when we walked up, the wound was her back hind leg and at first i was like "this isn't the deer I shot" lol, but it was. Not sure what happened, could of been me, but felt like a great shot. Sorry for rambling but thought it was crazy you had the exact same strange experience. Still love SEVR, and just decided yesterday i'll be shooting the hybrid lol, after all the crap I said in this video about "not being excited to shoot them".
I have had new different heads that seemed to fly and hit off compared to others that are almost identical in design. Then after I get my crap together on several shots later they hit where they are supposed to. It's me everytime. I usually do Magnus black hornets or Slick Trick standards interchangeably no problem. I get some Exact Brand 4 blade and like I said not hitting the center until about the 5th or 6th shot. Why? It was me for some reason - form!
3rd person to suggest these. I've written them down to test after deer season for turkey season. I honestly won't have time during deer season until or unless I tag out. Give me a few months and I'll do this one for sure. Thanks man.
So where did you hit the 2 deer that you said the shot wasnt the best? In my expierance with mechanical heads the blades arnt reusable after the shot but in most cases its worth the trade off as they do alot of damage.
Yup, they fly the best and thats what I needed with little time left until the season. I'll probably swap mid season, but wanted to get 3 or 4 with this first. It's pretty nasty. Doing well.
@SouthernDrawTN I've been looking at that broadhead for a while. Currently I have the G5 deadmeat broadhead in my quiver but figured I'd wait and see how that hybrid head does this season with blood trails and shoulder hits.
@@seanc77339 They are stupid sharp. I got the 4 blade non vented. They fly kind of high right for me, I just tuned my bow though and am planning on testing them out again tomorrow maybe. those things are sick.
Great video. So much knowledge about our great sport. Keep sharing all you know please.
I appreciate that sean, thank you. God bless.

Bleeder blade for the wound not to close, with two blade broadheads sometimes the wounds close
Yea this is what I ended up shooting this year, out of the 20 heads I tested.

I don't disagree, this is what I'm shooting this year. It was gut and back leg.

@@SouthernDrawTN So you are shooting the Hybrid 1.5?

Whats going in your quiver when you go into the deer woods 2024 and be your go to broadhead ?
Maybe the terrafirma
Tooth of the arrow for me this year. Simple and no failure points. Just sharp and fast.
