    I was just watching this video to get a little more knowledge on what I want my arrow setup to be. Watching you Michael. Wow how the years have flown. It feels like just yesterday we were young. I have been a fan of yours since the monster buck vhs days. Good luck this year. Crazy to think we are now almost the old guys!!!

    I'm running standard diameter arrows with 100 grain inserts and 100 grain broadheads. Zinger fletches and lighted nocks... Total arrow weight is 505 grains and 17% foc
    Totally DEADLY

      @joeymurphy5617 27 дней назад

      What broadhead did you go with? That setup sounds perfect?
      I’m at 125gr point / broadhead, 100gr Ethics Outsert on a 300 spine Element F5, with 4 blazer vanes on a right helical. 470gr, 17% FOC. Love em.

    Thank you for pointing out that people need to shoot what works for them! That is the set up that works best for you. I get comments about my heavy arrows but that is what I have found works best for my bow and draw length. Like T bone I have spent years trying to build the perfect set up going from crazy light arrows to super heavy and for me personally a 605 grain arrow with 19% FOC works best with my 31.5” draw shooting 74lbs.

    • @CadillacActual-f6n
      @CadillacActual-f6n 26 дней назад

      What type of broadhead do you use and how heavy are they? Also how heavy are your inserts?

    • @cjherriman7226
      @cjherriman7226 26 дней назад

      I have two different broadheads I am running. The first is the German Jager 175 grain and second is the Swacker 150. Jager is on the Easton Axis 300 spine with 75 grain outsert. Swacker is on blood sport onyx with 60 grain outsert. Also there is a rage 150.

    Learn how to use a grain scale. Set the arrow holder on the scale then push the "tare" button. It will zero the scale then you can set the arrow on and get your exact weight. No math needed.

    Not very familiar with Alta arrows , but if they are putting out spine charts like so many other arrow companies do - in my humble opinion those arrows built are under spine’d for any newer bow with more than a 65# draw weight.

    When installing inserts does it really matter if you take the nock out before gluing in the insert. To prevent pressure from push inserts.or is that a ole wise tail

    • @adamcap7
      @adamcap7 29 дней назад

      If your nocks are solid yes it does. So brass inserts are solid and that pressure you're making from pushing the nock in can make it back out. The aluminum insert has a hole so when you push the nock on there's no pressure behind it

    america has alot off varieties are builds for their critters they kill. works for them wel, heavy light doesnt make much differencel. not suitable for some countries due to massive difference in game size. proves though certain game alot off arrows are way overbuilt. elefant arrows for a buffaloes, elk arrows for whitetail. do what you feel best, faith in your build makes you confident and miss less (trade secrets to success)

    Shooting a 340 spine arrow with that much weight up front and your specs is REALLY under spinning that arrow. Really accelerating the carbon breakdown when shooting it over a shorter period of time. Making it dangerous to shoot over time and will make the arrows inherently inaccurate. Shoot a 250 spine with that same setup and it will shoot better. My 2 cents. For others to follow this could be dangerous on their part. Physics doesn’t lie.
