Do you think a 4 blade grim reaper would pass or fail the deflection test? Also do you think a shorter or longer ferrule would be better for deflection? Like the fetal steel vs whitetail special for example
You know, that's a good question. I'm not really sure what makes the mechanicals fail, or why the this head failed once but then passed when I reshot it after my camera over heated. I personally think it matters about the angle of the point on the ferrule. Take the b3 destrukt 4 for example. Look at that head. i thought for sure it would blow through that angle wood and it didn't. That made me start thinking the angles on the tips aren't so great for deflection. With a 2 blade single bevel, they have those tanto points, and the whole reason they do so well. To answer your question, and this is just my opinion, i think the whitetail special has a better chance because the tip has more of a chance to go through the wood before touching any of the mechanical blades due to the longer ferrule. I feel with the mechanicals sometimes the blades cause it to deflect as well. Probably not an issue with a deer though imo because the broadhead is already deployed. Sorry for such long response.
@@SouthernDrawTN that’s what I was kind of thinking too! I ended up buying the helix’s right after I watched your video on them. These are so interesting and helpful thanks!
@@Honkslayer haha thanks man, that's what i carried during velvet. It's a solid broadhead, I guess bloodtrail is the downside I assume. Appreciate that kind words bro.

I plan to put some Grim Reapers on the quiver this year. I have yet to hear a complaint about them.
Yea man I was thinking of testing their hybrid heads as well. Those look nasty too.
GRs. My favorite bh
They are so nasty right?
