      @Lolp821 3 года назад

      I don't think calling ex-vegans dumb based on some youtubers looking for attention is real or an inspiration. His response on it was really rather poor. Vegan is an extreme diet in the same way as extreme meat consumption. The problem with vegans is that a lot are very young, and you can nearly eat whatever you want when you're a teenager all the way until 30-35 or so, past that things change and Clarence is super young to be claiming these things. I bet his opinion on the vegan diet will change with time.

    • @dripshameless5605
      @dripshameless5605 3 года назад +1

      @@Lolp821 I wasn't giving credit to anyone calling ex vegans "dumb." Furthermore I can see where you're trying to draw similarities but your argument falls apart because there are a number of known and well documented groups from Africa to even Japan who if they weren't vegan, ate 80-90% of their calories coming from carbs (and had the longest life expectancy and lowest cases of diabetes, CVD, etc.). I think it is very important though to get perspective on successful and unsuccesful vegans (again I'm not pointing blame or ridiculing) because it's good to study things most accurately. But this narrative that veganism is a new phenomenon isn't true. The facts are humans thankfully are quite capable to adapting to a range of diets, which very much includes veganism, and people can get every bit of nutrition they need from a vegan diet. Whether someone then chooses not to be vegan for a variety of reasons is totally on them (again I'm not here to ridicule anyone). I'm just not a fan of hardcore keto or carnivore people trying to lie about the health standards of largely whole food plant based diets. Cheers

    I’m glad to see you’re thriving on a vegan diet. I did it for 3 years and wish I still could. My issue wasn’t with the diet itself. It’s more to do with my own digestive system. It can’t deal with FODMAPS (fruit sugars that exist in a lot of legumes as well as onions and garlic). I was bloated all day every day. I also wasn’t able to make use of the nutrition that these foods normally provide. I was tired and pale. I still believe that plant based foods do have the necessary nutrients... my body just can’t access them for some reason

    • @GutGains
      @GutGains 5 лет назад

      I have IBS/SIBO and as you know, the only animal product that is on the FODMAP list is lactose. It really leaves you no choice but to eat meat. Did you develop the issue while vegan or did it start before that?

    • @FixedWing82
      @FixedWing82 4 года назад

      The human body isn't designed for a 100% plant diet. We are predators and hunters. We eat meat. Always have. We don't have multi-chamber stomachs and we cannot digest cellulose, the material that makes up the cell walls of plants. These are all clues. Shitting is the act of your body jettisoning non-nutritive material it cannot use. Eat tons of veggies and you'll shit 5x a day. Eat nothing but energy-dense steak and eggs for a couple days, and you'll *maybe* shit once a day. Almost as if your body was optimized for it (whoa, I know, controversial!)

    You can 100% be vegan long term. And it is in fact probably the best diet for longevity next to a lacto-ovo-vegetarian diet in regards to pure health. It will not hurt your strength gains either in the long run. The only issue is that it takes more planning in regard to hitting certain macro and micronutrients. You have to put more thought and care into what you eat. But protein is protein. Meat is a complete protein so it is a lot easier to just eat trash throughout the day. If you are vegan or vegetarian you have to mix certain foods to create a full protein. This is not just internet research I am a health teacher and went to school for kinesiology and nutrition.

    Came up on my recommended and thought you were going to make a point why veganism doesn't work. Long term, meat eating isn't healthy: heart disease colo-rectal cancer, etc. Vegan diet isn't that hard unless you intentional try and complicate it (strict fruitarian, raw food, etc.) The majority of people's diets are basically vegan with dairy and meat thrown in. Just eat a plethora of whole foods (beans, nuts, seeds, vegetables, grains, etc). It really isn't that hard. I eat primarily beans, legumes and whole grains, for the macro nutritents and try to add as much vegetables and fruits as possible to get the rest of the micronutrients if i need to hit my daily recommended intakes.

      @ you do realise all the longest living people ever weren't vegan . Most weren't even vegetarian. Clarence has only been vegan for maybe 2 or 3 years. Some people are vegan for more than 5 before they realise their health has deteriorated, or less than even 1. Very few people who "eat meat" don't only eat meat and organs. Most eat all other processed junk and sugar filled food. With sugar and carbs with every meal and even alcohol multiple times a week. Isolated tribes have been living off animals without problems long before white man came with unnecessary foods and stimulants and disease.
      Maybe it's time people to stop thinking they're woke because they watched a documentary.
