Magnus' grip strength is just going to get greater and greater! Even Odd's is still improving at 73! So cool to have front row seats to this spectacle! Perhaps we're going to be entering a sort of Golden Era of grip strength in coming years?!

@@andromidius Yeah a lifetime, or even 10-15 is enough to develop hand strength. I worked as a construction mechanic on elevators and escalators. I got stronger than I thought was possible, grip wise. Some of the tools are just heavy, 60 or 70lbs. My hands and body were always swollen, hurting, even my neck. I used to take creatine and amino acids all the time. This guy at work would give me tests, like tighten down a bolt then ask if I could crack it loose by hand, the best part was my body weight stayed relatively the same. That's the first thing everyone told me, was that I had too much strength for my size, some guys we're much larger. I was pushing the boundaries of what my body could handle, the abuse.
I worked hard every day though, was a workout and my body ultimately broke down there, wrist, shoulder, back etc. I don't think many people would last a lifetime there, most of those guys there die after retirement age, avg lifespan is 65, so they only live 3/4 of a normal person's age. Working men deserve special treatment, it's no joke what they do sometimes. Conditions sucked, the air sucks like you're working in a coal mine sometimes, it's dangerous as hell. Women are much too soft to work around there.

The biggest guys in the world disagree with you, they have trouble getting grip on grip strength training where smaller hands can grasp things more easily. Big hand size helps for pressing wayyyy more than gripping. In fact it's probably a negative to have big hands for grip strength alone.
If you watch arm wrestling the biggest guys (i.e. Levan and Devon) focus very little, or zero, on grip because they can never outgrip the opponent they always use their arms and not their hands to win, Devon will even purposefully wipe sweat all over his hand so the other guy can't grip him.

There was a gentleman being seen as a patient in a hospital I was working in. In his 90s, walked in straight and tall. No hunch, didn't appear to hurt or anything. WWII veteran. Sharp as a tack. Had the largest hands I've ever seen on a man. He was probably about 6' tall, similar to myself, but he had silverback gorilla mitts. Looked like Odds here. It's super inspiring to see older gents getting down still. My old man is in the best shape of his life, can whip me on a pull-up bar or just about anything in the gym still, and he's nearing 60. His biggest limitation is max HR goes with age as well, so he the cardio intensity training is a little different, but frankly just seems like his body just became more efficient. He's a mental cyclist. He and another gent his age have a silent war going on for fastest time on a local loop, it's gotten completely absurd to the point that no one in ANY age group is even close (or probably cares/has time to dedicate to fitness for the younger child raising guys). Once met this oldish man with a big belly. He was a Qigong master and treated my back pain.
He shook my hand casually but the feeling I got was insane... never felt anything like it.
It felt like if my hand was in a hydraulic press. And he did not squeeze at all. If he had used ANY effort, my hand would have shattered.
Yet, he did nothing of the sorts, just casual "How do you do" with a smile.
When I mentioned this to him, he said he had worked on his grip and told me a story where he had wrestled with a professional wrestler, just for fun.
He could not wrestle, really, so all he did was took the wrestler by his wrists and squeezed.
The wrestler could do nothing but drop down to his knees and surrender.
The wrestler said after this that he had never felt a strength like that, in his words the strength was "inhuman".
I know.. there are exceptional people amongst us.
