The most important thing seen or said in this video is at 19:43 by the instructor. Special forces is about fitness yes but you'll only get fitness if you have mindset. He instantly corrected Magnus negative view about his climbing path in life. They're the people you want in front of you and at your back.
The end of the last challenge darn near almost made me emotional. 10 score, Magnus' endurance, and is kind about asking where the finish line is, as soon as he's told he can stop, collapses from exhaustion. I'd love a video going into depth on what your thoughts are when pushing so hard on an endurance test.
i really liked this spanish military guy. and magnus is a beast, as always. given the scoring system, a 6.5 is actually outrageously good. and i can't imagine what some of these special forces guys look like-- jesus. the sprinting rubric was completely outrageous-- they seriously have guys who can run 10.5 second 100m in those conditions? insane.
10,5 sounds hard but he could get to 11 / 11,5 seconds if he trains his legs for speed and general muscle. He is a little guy who needs to have a high pace with his legs to get to higher speed. But in the video you see he has general endurance but lacks the strength in legs to push him harder forward and in a higher pace. And i know fully well that he would smoked me in sit ups, push ups and pull ups.
@@62metaIt's not really a matter of strength though. You need explosiveness and power in your lower body to get a decent 100m time. That's something Magnus obviously doesn't train for.

I hope Magnus knows how huge of a honor it is to ranked as a Colonel right out the gate honorary or not! Massive props!!!
I have to say, after so many tests and collaborations, Magnus has definitely become less tense in front of camera with strangers, more natural and loosen with the conversation, much much less "awkward fillers", it feels like the conversation and some small talks are super calming and way way comfortable to watch comparing to the first couple of test videos. And again I really appreciate the fact that Magnus always gives it all without holding back when it comes to making efforts. That genuine feeling on his face is really inspiring and motivitional!! I am always incredibly impressed when Magnus performs endurance tests. It is crazy to have a time like this with no special training.
A decent fitness regime and most importantly a smart game plan paired with a sound mindset can bring you to at least to 99% of the best times. The last % is where it gets hard.
But yeah imennsly impressiv! :)
@@dongurudebro4579 Yea magnus has a good mindset for those kinda things, like with the dark tunnels or with the hiking up the hills and then running down the hills to get faster times. His instinct is hella good.
No special training? If I recall Magnus ran 4x4 intervals more than once a week for his entire youth and pro climber career?
@@dongurudebro4579 absolutely not. For sure mindset plays a huge role. But if you are not really gifted with exceptional endurance your cardiovascular system will just collapse under such a demand. i really liked this spanish military guy. and magnus is a beast, as always. given the scoring system, a 6.5 is actually outrageously good. and i can't imagine what some of these special forces guys look like-- jesus. the sprinting rubric was completely outrageous-- they seriously have guys who can run 10.5 second 100m in those conditions?
