Always amazes me how freakishly strong Magnus is, he kept Larry on his toes for some of the tasks. Off topic, but Larry has a cool earthy voice. Also glad Magnus didn't rip off his skin like he usually does with the hub grip.
I know very well that Larry is an amazing person very respectful towards others, but in this video he showed something beyond respect towards Magnus, him calling Magnus sir and looking at him like "MAN I love what you do" with a huge amount of excitement in his eyes is just a beautiful thing to see. Love the content Magnus! Keep up the amazing work mate! :)
I have a friend with blue eyes, who looks the same as Magnus, he's about 5"9" and he has such ridiculous hand strength, I've seen him on at least two occasions snap the jaws right off of cutters by trying to cut something, with commercial grade hardened cutters. I've never in my life broken a pair of cutters in half. I notice my friend's hands are also about 25% larger than mine, although his physical stature is smaller than me. There's a certain demographic of German/Swedish/Norwegian people who have absolutely insane grip strength. These people also generally have shorter than average arms, but their hands are much larger than average.
Keep in mind that the Rolling Thunder, and Juji’s RGT (rolling grip thing) are similar handles but different in terms of difficulty. The RGT has a better spin to it making it noticeably more difficult to use, so they deserve their own World Record lift. If someone can’t make a lift with an RGT (like they struggle and get to 75% but not an official rep) they might make that same weight with a rolling thunder
Man, the real amazing thing about this channel is that every video seems like a different experience when watching it. You have videos like the ones with adam and shawn which are so focused on the climbing world, the crag, finding new techniques... And then you have stuff like this which is genuinely fun and wholesome training. And each video has its own magic, no video is composed the same way because it feels like the experience influences the way the video is edited from start to bottom. That's the reason this channel is one of the strongest climbing channels and it will remain this way if you keep making videos this way.
Magnus, your ability to master your own competitive nature is fascinating. You do all these 'competitions/comparisons' with strong athletes (Who are also competitive by nature.) and yet that is not the energy that comes off these videos. Shared curiosity about personal limits is the energy you generate in these collaborations. I'm going to theorize that even though you are an introvert (By your own definition.) that you also exert considerable leadership influence on those around you. Influence/leadership is a hard quality to pin down, different people achieve it by different energies but the consistency of how your collaborations flow suggests YOU have a significant leadership effect even if you are not 'trying' to lead.
Love these collaboration videos. Thank you Magnus for continuing to show the world that things aren't always what they appear, and that in fitness a smaller person can work towards and obtain a very tall peak without having to concern oneself so much with muscle mass.
You know bodybuilders train for size right? You can train strength and gain minimal to no muscle if you want, just do harder lifts for less reps. Also don’t bulk much
The pinch block world record is 51.40 kg (113.31 lb.) by Harri Tolonen of Finland. There's footage of Larry though in Iceland with Thor and Juji where he almost broke that years ago, it was off the ground.
This sort of stuff that Magnus does is pretty awesome. Gives an idea of power to weight ratios vs. overall power. Lifting a weight for a power lifter vs. being able to lift yourself when climbing.

Rolling thunder is an Ironmind product, while RGT (Rolling grip thing - the thing you were using) is a Grip genie product. RGT is much harder than Rolling thunder which is why the record you posted is so much higher than the weights you guys lifted.
Ha! I've been waiting for this one Magnus. You and Larry have personalities that just fit. Here's the crazy thing, Larry is one of the strongest men in the world and 75 pounds heavier than you, but as I'm watching each exercise I expect you to win!

After the initial wonderment of where on earth have all the plates gone, what would have followed would have been an uncanny observation of two stylishly dressed blokes single-handedly lifting said weights close to the climbing walls in absurd quantities, employing contraptions to make the entire operation more difficult.
