My friend Rob is hiring truck drivers ❤ Lacrosse WI area. Email him hallahantrans@gmail.com
You should do a video about how the insurance racket managed to hold the trucking industry by the balls and demand every company require drivers to have two years of experience before they could hire anyone. Rob included.
@@user-iw1wp6em3j no mega carrier needs 2yrs experience. Swift/Prime/CSRT/CR England to name a few will hire you right out of truck driving school or they have a school to train you. I would not advise doing this tho since they also require 2yrs service to pay for the training.
Private fleets will require 2yrs and it is due to insurance. However, it's not a "racket". Its liability as more truck driving accidents will be from drivers with less than 2yrs experience. This is a fact and most insures will not even touch a company with less than 20-40 trucks if they hire under 2yr experience drivers. Risk for the insurance company outweighs the rewards for them.
Imagine if all OTR drivers got paid by the hour $35 and $200 a day for being away from home the mega crooks would be forced to keep the rates up.
Probably be able to recruit better safer drivers too with a livable wage like that. Living in a truck for less than 2000 gross a week is crazy to me.
Can you imagine how much things would cost after that? Just look at Cali and this minimum wage debacle. Overnight prices at fast food went up 20% in places. Some of the places simply shut down. Also, $35/hr. You're joking right? My coworkers average $40-$45/hr at thier $0.70/mile. While I respect your idea it would bankrupt most carrier, large and small, other than the flipflop carriers that would still haul the loads for pennies per mile.
Right ..talk about clueless.
@@philsonnenberg6092 all valid points. I guess my only question is how come the rates of almost everything get to increase except for our rates? Rhetorical question, it’s just BS and I wish there was something we could all do together to change that, but until that time comes I got mouths to feed. Stay safe drivers.
Truck driving is the biggest scam these mega carriers have been ripping drivers off for years
Only for teams? That's not right.
Yeah for teams
You try sleeping in the back whole the truck is moving! If it’s dam bouncy while you drive imagine the dude trying to sleep in the back !
You shouldn't be going to NYC anyway. Screw them.
Agreed
Facts. Screw them
Wtf. Why aren't all drivers being paid for sleeping. That's bs. Teams aren't special.
Its because as a Solo you have the freedom to leave the truck when you stop, unlike Teams who need to continue driving and some can't rest while on sleeper berth.
They kinda are have you never drove teams?
Still not enough for me to want to team drive. That's one of the reasons why I ran away from crst. They force it.
@BM-if9zn so, that's the point their sleeping, co drivers driving yet the are benefiting both of them. So the driver in the sb is getting a compensation for sleeping and that's my point
@@BM-if9znif they cannot rest while in sleeper birth, the. How can they operate a truck safely while driving?
Time to end team driving then, huh?
Pay everybody, in trucks, ive been in this toilet industry for 29 years ,and no new rest areas to park at,just ohio is making rest areas ,Pennsylvania my home state sucks the big 1 on old rest areas and toll plazas
Must not be a toilet if you’ve been in the industry for 29 years.
@@Jack-pd4ps- We’re like Rats clawing at the sides. Just falling back in after every attempt, just waiting for someone to fish us out or flush us.
@@chesterpanda people had opportunities to leave the industry. So it isn’t a Toilet if you’re still here. Can’t act like employers weren’t hungry the last few years. In 2021, I’ve seen the railroad hire a 60 year old Railroad Conductor. He could have changed industries like I did coming into the Trucking industry.
They suck on fuel prices also.
Mutha trucker the only one out here sharing the news and fighting for us with an actual audience. We need more ppl like you in this industry to fight for us. I wish there was a way I could help. God bless you man.

There's a channel called "Married to Trucking"
@@mikaeels.6477 married would imply some affection, that is not the case for most of us.
If ur in New York... WHAT THE F++K U DOING IN NEW YORK!!!
If you want me to keep an eye on your load, on my 10 or 34... you're gonna have to pay me, otherwise I don't give a shit what happens to the trailer/load on my break.
Exactly, retired LEO here. I told a dispatcher we get $35 an hour minimum, so let me know how many hours you want me to watch your shit. Lol
I ain't watching that shit anyway. If someone wants it, they can have it. Gimme my cigs, my wallet and my cellphone. You can have the truck and the trailer. I'll be sitting on the curb when management gets there. Which way did they go? .....I dunno ...I think that way. 🤷
Here comes the wage decrease all across the board
And you will continue to work for cheap
Oh please, they're going to move money from driver pay to sleeper pay. No change in real pay.
What's up with truckers getting paid by the hour with overtime??????
NOBODY wants to talk about that
Yeah, we need overtime pay! And I mean after 8 hours per day. I worked 16 hours a few months back.... I could have made an extra $104 that day! (Canadian $)
I keep a cordless drill and a complete drill bit set. I drill into the suction cup, and the panel falls off. Wheel boots drill out the lock and leave! 😊
While I drive thru la cross wi....and work out of mn...actually live in Fl.....thanks keep it comming....lots of love for what u do
As far as the parking goes, the servants shall not be seen nor heard
I'm not going there anymore it just gets worse and worse for us truckers what would new York do if truck drivers stop going there.
I appreciate for the video and keep it up bro 👍
what up ALEX,
that is good these companies should pay these guys being out all the road sleeping in an old raggedy truck
I understood the "paid in sleeper" deal a bit different. I was told this was due to CRST and its training habits. This from a former CRST trainer. They were paying trainees something like $300/week and keeping them in trucks for months! While the trainer was making bank on his mile along with the trainees miles. Trainees were even stuck in the truck when trainers went home. I don't think it means what you think it means. This was a CRST deal and not something industry wide.
This is the start of something that can spread all over. They can use this case for other team driver pay situations
@@MuthaTrucker You have been in the industry for some time I assume. As have I (32yrs). IF, and that's a big IF, it ever come about that team drivers get paid to sleep. You can bet companies will just lower the per mile compensation. Mega carriers (and some smaller carrier) will never pay for anything without cutting something. Again, this entire case is concerning trainees being taken advantage of. I am not bagging on CRST as all mega carriers do not compensate trainees like they should. However, I have never seen a carrier not compensate a team truck for milage or time of work.
Swift does this too, my trainer went home while I stayed in the truck for his reset. But I bet all mega carriers do it .
@@TheTruelakersfan-fairly new thing to me. Been a driver since 2007.
Yup western does this also
There needs to be away from home pay... This "we'll pay u the same rates no matter what" is bs
in Australia, we can only park for one hour.
The caveat is a built-up area.. The problem is they also deem an industrial estate as built-up areas.
Remove the Barnacle and not worry about the fine. Since they can’t force you to pay if you’re never coming back to NY.
Problem solved.
Whoever owns the vehicle is going to have to pay the fines. You might have theft charges for the boot/blind.
That soundtrack goes hard. Care to share where I can find it to play as my nighttime music to help me sleep after a long day driving? It really is soothing.
It's kinda of dumb for team drivers. They are getting paid while sleeping. 1 is driving and the other is sleeping.
Long as the truck is moving, they both getting paid.
Now solo drivers, that driver should be paid
You do know if we team your money is your money and not mines right? 😂 damn your smart!
@goooat8260
Unless the game has changed.
We got paid as long as the wheels move.
Thier be times my co driver drives more and we still get paid the same.
Times I drive more then my co driver.
Long as the truck is running, we making money sleeping or driving
Good looking on this info bro. Needed to hear this. Thanks man oh yeah by the way I got 4 of your T shirts at sky city Acoma NM truckstop. Pretty dope keep doing your thing stay safe out there bro✌🏾
Appreciate you
An account Ryder has near where I live pays driver's when they have to sleep in their truck. I think Walmart does the same, but I'm not sure
What about people who are no longer with crst but was trained and spent 3 + years do we get back pay and how do I register for this said back pay
Thank you ladies for fighting for better conditions out here on the road. Men are so used to terrible treatment didn’t realize how they were stealing from the drivers
Its not stealing, if you agree to it.
@@craigcross1504 people agree because they need a job to survive. It's kinda a one sided agreement. It's not as simple as, you agreed to it.
Imagine that, looking for OTR driver's but only if they are in Wisconsin area....I've been all over the country and coast to coast, didn't live in any of the state's that I ran through.
All just sounds like more red tape. A company will figure out a way to slice and dice pay.
It's the drivers fault for accepting employment where they get screwed.
Also, a truly good company doesn't need to search for drivers, drivers will find them .
Yeah, but if they slice n dice the pay, the driver might split.
FMCSA is trying to get rid of solos.
Let’s address the shippers/receivers taking money out of the pockets of truck drivers..
That would be a good start
Thats it im getting a blo up doll and puting it in the pssenger seat why im Driving and when im in my sleeper birth getting paid.Betsy has too be in the driver,s seat with a ball cap.Holla, get paid!
I'm getting ready to get into trucking cdl. Coming from oilfield but getting to old to frac. Going to get permit then find training school kllm on my radar. Selling everything n trying to do this trucking/ living and investing most pay for the next 10+yrs. Praying for guidance and hoping for the best in Jesus name 🙏🙂
Vehicle in motion pay just like pilots with the engine on….Awesome! Running double is one job that defines “cumulative Fatigue”when you’re in the sleeper any rest is due to exhaustion ….
I've only done New York City twice in my 10-year career and I never will go back anywhere North or east of Pennsylvania
Sheeeoot, that means we can sleep in the truck for a total of 32hrs/day & get paid for it. Send us to Florida please
When I go home for the weekend I park my truck and trailer in front of my home in my neighborhood been doing this almost 26 years I live just north of town in Phenix City,AL in
Lee county no rule against me taking it home so far
If when that happens I know a place where I can park where it will not cost anything
On the pay for team sleep
This should be for all drivers not just for team drivers
Where all drivers be getting paid when sleeping in there truck
I don't see it happening but it be great it it does happen
If that happens, as much as it would be good against mega carrier's, I can see drivers milage pay dropping. Been out of the game for a while but I don't believe there's a minimum on cpm. Hopefully I'm wrong on that
I take 34 hr break under loads . I'm still responsible for the truck trl and load I should get paid for 34 hr breaks .
Same for breakdowns. How we are getting the shaft is beyond ridiculous.
What about mandatory 34 hr resets on the road??? That needs to be paid as well!!!
I thought 34hr resets were optional and u could just run recap hrs
34 isn't mandatory. Just 10 hours rest.
@@younglove3362 the megas want u to stay out
34 hour restart is not mandatory.
Thats correct. Its purely optional
Im staying in SB the whole time...especially on a 34 hour reset which I'll have to do every week...lol
🤣😂
True story…in ‘96 I went to work as a team driver..calif to ny and back every week….the owner offered me
.25cents a mile……i thought What?…..then I was told that was .25 cents for every mile that truck turned.
Thats paid for sleeping…..in 96…..50 cents a mile for all my time in that truck worked out better than i
could have ever imagined at that time.
All driver's need to be paid sleeper time, not just teams.
Now The Ball Will get rolling Trucking Company Will Go Out Of Business people will get out there money 💰 is going to get tight Alex 😎💯🚛
Is this why my FedEx contractor started doing time card for us drivers out of no where 🤔
All he told us was the FedEx was making my him track our hours and sleep times.
Hi Alex
I drove motorcoach. Obviously 99.98% of all U.S. motorcoaches do not have sleeperbirths. The coach company I worked for did a lot of charters between Ohio and Walt Disney World. That requires a two driver shift. The, "lead" driver would be sent half way down a day ahead and put in a hotel room ro rest. The, "relief" driver would pick up the passengers, drive the first leg, pass off the coach and then head to the hotel to get rest then drive the company van back. The miles and time spent in the company van and hotel room were paid as deadhead hours and miles. That is the right way to treat your divers. Team drivers should be paid similarly. At least give the ones sleeping deadhead miles.
Finally!
This is what I am talking about for years!!!
Nothing is free! So, our time away from our family for days up to a week!
I think some companies pay both drivers more per mile than normal. I did a team driving situation like 15 years ago, I'm not sure how I got paid. I think it was ok at the time.
@@jakefriesenjake Yes, that’s right bro, companies will give what Trucker’s supposed to get, and they know that they need to treat the Trucker’s right, and with all respect, that was the good ol days for Trucker’s 15years ago. The ol school perks for Trucker’s is now a thing of the past, it’s too bad the new generation of Trucker’s/year2020, didn’t even know about it, and never know that Trucker’s have those perks to begin with. They only thought that the industry is the same as it was before, like what they are seeing and experiencing right now, that there’s 5-10 truckers waiting in line to replace them, in a blink of an eye. And they just thingking the industry is shit like before, and just suck it up, and continue to work like a dog, and only open up all their complain to fellow Trucker’s, and not directly to the company, until they reach the point to be discouraged, making them to quit and find another career.
To be honest, I would never ever recommend to all my friends that I know, to become a Trucker right now at this current situation.
It’s better to have a 9-5 jobs, having the benifit of going home the same day after work. Less fatigued and stressed. Less beat up and damaged in the body and health, always with the family love ones, and always confident that you are always safe at all times, without even trying to be safe. Because, as we know, being a Trucker is dangerous. Anything bad can happen on the road. Accident is always following us, beside us or in front of us on the road, just waiting to happen, it can be human error, mechanical failure, and extremely dangerous type of weather. As we know, A Trucker’s top priority is Safety at all times, in everything we do, decisions making and actions on the road. Add this one right now, is the worst part doing this job is the Traffic, that makes the job more stressful.
I came into the industry seeing the drastic change, I noticed it right away, that it’s not going on the right direction, instead of moving forward, it’s like the Canada course right now, it’s going backwards.
Unlike your time 15yrs ago, this current industry, if it happens a Team driver have one less experience and the other have enough experience, and he doesn’t know that person, he will exploit it, the experience team driver will demand more abd take what is all left on CPM for his benifit, the rookie will not realize it, but eventually as he gain more knowledge and experienced he know the truth later on.
Other situation, is when a Team have both enough experienced, no matter how long they work for the company, as long as the minimum fulltime CPM pay for Team drivers, it will stay the same. Until they quit. Unlike back in the day, the more years you work for any company out there, the more voice for you to have to let them know what you wanted. It’s like ask what you want, and they will give it to you.
Right now, if you do that, they will just laugh at you.
We are Guarding the equipment while off duty
We always did at UPS ..Its about time ..smhn
Technically, truck drivers are " On-Duty " every hour they are in the truck. I haven't driven a company truck for years, but when I did I was responsible for that truck. That didn't mean only when I was on duty, that meant all the time I was away from a terminal. Let's say you are on your 10-hour break or 34-hour or just out of hours and someone hits your truck. You have to get up and tend to the problem, you can't say I'm on my break come back. When you do get up to tend to the problem you are in violation. The Government wants to be technical on certain things, like counting every minute of your time with ELDS, yet other things they don't. Truck drivers have been getting screwed for years, out of their time and money.
Teams are compensated for being in the sleeper, they make 1.50/mi split. Thats 0.75/mi for all miles, not juat what you drive
Who is paying $1.50 and is that as a Company driver, lease, or owner operators?
LTL teams are around 90 cents split for Company drivers.
Last week we did 6580 X $0.9= $5922 plus 9 drop and hooks @ $20 so $5922+$180 =$6102 then divide by 2.
$3051 each driver.
It's been a couple s decades since I road teams but, last I knew teams got paid for all miles.
NY doesn’t deserve deliveries.
Looks like the cost of goods will go up again!
If I was a trainee and didn’t get paid my training in 2017, can I also get 2,5mil? Who do I need to call?
NYC has no truck stops
Carriers have started using a lower CPM to compensate for the new sleeper rule. This is crazy
This industry doesn't make sense to me sometimes. I have a year otr experience, fully endorsed license and TWIC card and cant get hired at a local job for the life of me. Been denied by around 7 companies already. Im sure as hell though i could go back to living in the truck in a heartbeat..... But im tired of that . Kind of frustrating
What about owner operator.
Forgot, doesn't meet the requirements
The law passed in the pass and it was for everyone not just teams but they must have changed the wording.
Imagine the government forcing shippers and receivers to pay one dollar per minute detention time right when we get to the gate…..
Some jokers put 3 of those "barnacles" on my truck and a few boots. -From 3 different companies. Took all the sh#t off and recycled it.
-If you live/work in the City prepare for these jokers running these scams.
They pay for a few $100-200 boots and start scamming. Make a few G$ and move to these barnacles that cost them even more. = Try to get $$$$'s from drivers to take all this stuff off. Not just trucks but regular vehicles now also = but usually they just tow/steal the vehicle.
When not home, you’re at work. Should get paid…
DOT needs be put into check.
Problem is, I could have a heart attack if they started paying me while I’m in the sleeper… So if they did start doing that, I’d probably be dead anyway…
We wouldn't have to deal with this if HOS WASNT A THING
That's cute.
Now the question is, how are they going to pay and what are they going to pay after 8hours sb?
Is it just trainees? If it's co driver thay get paid for all miles on truck
❤
Thought you got paid. Always got paid when teammates were driving. Back then the truck got .40 cents per mile I got .20 teammates got .20 for all miles.
It makes no difference if itsa team or solo driver
Its all time required of the driver by their employer
Mia Carriers let me these have been stealing from their drivers' trainees for decades
This will probably just cease team drivers and just have relays companies will find a way around this.
Trainees law suit. Not regular teams
Hats off to those who sleep in a truck for a week or weeks. Couldn't be me. No trucking company pays enough to be out a week at a time.
I live in California I make 29 dollars a hour plus 45 dollars a night for dinner and 400 dollars for a 34 hour restart it is very fair mileage pay sucks I like hourly much better plus medical and retirement
Now there going to pay 25 cents a mile-mega carriers
NY has to get their money back for issuing the 18,000 on prepaid cards for the illegals that they welcomed. So of course go after the truckers. 😢
Team driving is the most dangerous way to drive.
I love it when Megas lose lawsuits
Hey! What happened to my hat?😅
I'm a team driver and I'm confused. As a team we get paid for every mile the truck moves. Sleeping or not, as long as the trucks moving we both get paid. I think this applies to mentors and their trainee. Not team drivers. If we didn't get paid while the trucks were moving, there would be no point in teaming. So something is misunderstood here.
That's gunna mess with the indian 3 truck drivers in a truck
Nobodys is going to pay for a driver to sleep. There isnt enough money in trucking to make a profit as it is, so i dont see this going anywhere. Trucking companies that run Teams will switch to running solo drivers. I also dont see any shipper laying out the extra pay to sustain this idea.
i get paid and not even working
I think all drivers should be paid for the time in The sleeper berth because we never get to go home especially Long haul over the road drivers....
Money has to come from somewhere. It ain't coming from management's end. So enjoy you wage cuts.
I don't want sleep pay because I don't feel it's right, but pay me 15.00 dollars an hr with my mileage pay for every hr I drive, and that's fair because I spend so much time away from home.
Let's see that and Rand McNally mileage is scam.
All team drivers suppose to get paid whenever the truck is moving.
I think that truck drivers need to be paid regardless if they are tim drivers or not we sleep on the truck because we can sleep at home. When we sleep on the truck it's because we still at work.
Dosent make a lot of sense why its only team drivers getting paid for sleeping..
We(FedEx) already pay for teams while they sleep. Welcome to reality...
I've been binge-watching your videos, and each one is a masterpiece. Bravo!
IF WE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT HAPPENS TO THAT TRUCK OR THAT LOAD EVEN WHILE WE ARE SLEEP WE SHOULD GET PAID FOR IT THEN🤷🏾♂️
Why only team drivers solo drivers don't deserve it??
Pay will just decrease now
