My iPhone7 had no sound during phone calls or trying to listen to voicemail. It did work for music so I was skeptical to try this but it worked and I now can make phone calls again.
If your camera videos audio work?
Mine somehow doesn’t work at all after doing this. It still has no sound during phone calls and the person on the other end doesn’t hear me either. Any other advice?

@@chandrashekarnagarajan yeah I had to bring my phone to a repair store and got it fixed. The microphone was really damaged
It worked! My daughters phone sound stopped working over a month ago. She took it to two different iPhone stores and the people working there couldn’t fix it. She even paid for them to install new speakers (from which, it still didn’t work) and no refund). 😡 I followed the simple instructions here, and BOOM! Her phone speakers are now working. Thanks so much!! 😁

because its dirty i guess try using a brush to clean it off if its just the earpiece that you cant hear from then i dont believe it to be an ic problem well 80%
Thank you, it worked for me! It's amazing. I tried "Reset-->Erase All Content and Settings" and didn't resolved the calls issue. I was unable to receive any call from facetime, whatsapp, cellular. If I place a cellular call, I can't hear, the other party can't hear me, but I still can type numbers to follow a menu. I gave a try to your solution and resolved my problem in a minute. Thanks again

I would have thought a full wipe would have also fixed it
@@rickstechrepairs Perhaps the full wipe fixed it but once I restored everything from my full icloud backup, the issue got set along. By the way, I got the issue again (after the recent network reset) and fixed it again with your clue of the network reset. I am trying to isolate which APP or which action am I performing to break it at will.

@@preceptgal As a matter of troubleshooting ... I've been able to use a pair of bluetooth earphones, almost plug & play, no issues BUT wanted to test the original ones that came with my iPhone 7 in the early days. They weren't working so I played turning bluetooth on/off, switching with the old ones, unplugging + plugging them over and over until I gave up. Those were working plug & play on an iPhone11 .... however the next call I got showed that the legacy problem arose again ... "I couldn't hear the other party" and my guess is that there might be a bug in my phone or iOs 14.8.1 that when I make changes to sounds and/or bluetooth some configuration gets lost and the only solution is the network configuration reset.

This totally fixed my issue .. the audio wasn't recording when capturing video and all calls i made weren't connecting for whatever reason .. thanks, will keep this fix for others

this works but is only a temporary fix does anyone know a more permanent fix?
Seriously-- this only works for a couple hours before it goes back to no audio, and I'm using the newest iPhone. It's basically a paperweight. I need to get on Skype for support because I have no assurances that a regular call will work, and if they schedule a call back there is no way to hear it-- this is the dumbest problem a phone could ever have--- a phone that doesn't phone.

My dad gave a iPhone 7. I’m assuming it’s refurbished. I have no sound during calls either way. RUclips and other audios work. I’ve tried resetting the network settings but that didn’t help. Any ideas?

Does the audio from any other apps work? Whatsapp for example works on mine, but the native phone app doesn't. So I don't think it's the phone-- I think it's a carrier issue, but I'm not sure.
