Thank you all for watching and the support on this video! A very highly requested video was just posted of the M2 racing a 2024 Tesla Model 3 Performance. Check it out - ruclips.net/video/unHwS_lgNxw/видео.html
The Model 3 Performance is a LOT faster than the LR AWD Model 3 and it costs less than the M2. It will go 0-60mph in 2.8 seconds and it has a top speed of 163 mph. It would be a more accurate comparison to between the M2 BMW and Model 3 Performance.
I understand that, but as mentioned in the video, these are both MY vehicles. I just wanted to compare them for fun to see the difference.. I already raced a new M3P and it will be posted next month.
@@JVette01 Yeah, thanks for the reply. I agree, I have always felt that the AWD Model 3 is a little rocket ship, and it is an interesting video to see how it performs against the M2. I really don't know much about the M2, but if it beats the Model 3 AWD, it must be fast. I own a 2022 RWD Model 3 and it beats just about everything on the road in normal driving. I had a supped-up muscle car pull up beside me, and you could tell this guy thought his car was the fastest thing on four wheels. When I pulled out, I was going at normal speed, but he roared by me to show his dominance. Something came over me and I floored it and passed him, he floored it and sort of caught up with me slowly, but he couldn't really pass me. We hit 85 mph plus in a 40 mph zone and so I backed off. It was hilarious. I don't think he could understand how my lowly Model 3 had passed him like he was standing still and that he couldn't overpower me like he was so used to doing with other cars. I usually never do this because I consider it very unsafe, but it was interesting to see his reaction. I am sure that after I slowed down and he was still accelerating, he looked foolish to himself. His car sounded like it was turbocharged and was modified for speed, and for all its power, he could not pass me. It was definitely some kind of muscle car. I think he drove away a little humbler, which is good because he was arrogant based on how he drove.

The Model 3 Performance has 510 hp and quarter mile time of 11.0 @ 122 mph. The M3 CS did beat it in the quarter mile but not by much. It’s tough to beat electric cars especially with only two wheel drive. Electric cars have full torque at zero rpm’s. It’s still impressive that the M2 is so fast! Great video….thanks once again

Interesting. Definitely closer than I expected (my daily is the M3 LR). Course I imagine you hit a winding road, and the M2 will disappear quickly. But all things considered, the new Model 3 LR AWD is still fun around curvy roads.
Not sure if you guys accounting for this, but the top speed of the Tesla Model 3 Highland is 125mph (limited). Letting you guys know because it seems right around there that the M2 starts to pull away. The Model 3 Performance has a higher top speed of 145mph (also limited), which would probably be a better comparison anyways if you were to ever do this again
The new M3P has upgraded motors, so even if boost becomes available on the LR, it still won’t be nearly as quick as the new M3P. LR with boost is close to the first gen M3P, slightly quicker actually at higher speed, when equipped with 18” rims.
Yes. Not sure what all the love is for Tesla and EVs in general. Power/speed for the $$$ I guess. Of course they are quick. Instant torque and power so it shouldn't be surprising. Yeah, but the insurance on the tesla is gonna be double that of the M2. So you'll end up paying more for that cheaper tesla in the long run. Tesla insurance is ridiculously expensive. I quoted to add a tesla module 3 to my current insurance plan and the tesla alone was going to cost more than the other two cars on my plan. One car being a brand new luxury sports car, which you think would be expensive right? Well, compared to tesla, luxury sports cars are dirt cheap to insure lol. The tesla doubled my 6 month premium, absolutely insane. I guess it's because they're so cheaply made and break all the time, and the replacement parts are ridiculously expensive to get, that insurance companies know they'll lose big if they don't charge a fatter rate. I know how Elon runs his tesla factories.. And you can too if you read the latest book on him. It's no surprise why tesla are so poorly made. Elon makes them cut literally every corner possible to keep costs down.. For better or worse lol

If I warmed up the tires first, M2 would’ve done better. I’ve experimented with different techniques since shooting this vid. The long range, while very quick, doesn’t have that break neck take off that the performances have, it’s more of a gradual roll on from a dig. However, in a roll it’s very good.
@@JVette01 yea with the performance u def need a flash tune or a jb4 forsure. Off to Finland u go 😂 jk
My insurance is less than my m2 and less than the rs3 on the Tesla lol.. and some of my colleagues with Tesla insurance tell me how cheap it is
m3p is 550 hp
It’s 510 according to several sources.
Model 3 with out speed limiter bruh is another story 😂.
True, however it does start slowing down more up top but not as bad as you may think when it’s close to full charge
Why you racing a family car? Probably has a baby seat in back and a frunk full of groceries. Launch control … lol. What next, an Accord?
Very dumb comment.. We can race whatever we want.. thanks for watching
In my opinion it was an interesting race showing how a very sensible daily car such as the EV can be without missing out on performance and also showing how quick the M2 really is
Just so you know in electric cars the HP is always wheel , only combustion can be crank
Makes sense
Need to put in the 2025 M3P.
