There are many clips showing that the real power is between 1070hp and 1120, hence this Veyron is not 100%.
Amazing car and what an honor! But its clearly more 6-700hp than 1000 here. Saw a Enzo top speed run recently and it was pulling fast up to 340km/h and then accelerated at the pace this Veyron did at 300, the Veyron should pull harder than Enzo over 300kmh.
Totally. Dr. Piech was without peer. Amazing mind, and iron fisted managerial style to boot. The VW group got some insane engineering done for many a year topping off with this one. Just brilliant he was😁

I think touching the brakes and/or applying a certain amount of steering lock, among other things, will disengage top speed mode. So it’ll be difficult to do on the public road. Doesn’t seem like that particular car is running 100% though or it’s been left in handling mode.
Touching the brakes or steering does nothing to disengage top speed mode. It should stay inthere until you turn the key back to handling, or until the car detects a failure of sorts. Having viewed this car a while ago, yeahno its pretty badly maintained and has all sorts of issues. Other ones i drove felt like they pulled twice as hard above 200 compared to this one. And, sidenote, it gets to 360-370 quite quickly in handing mode, if everything is in order.
@@Car10121-s If you'd watched the video, you'd already have seen enough to know you're wrong in your assumptions. Impressive how the speed of the speedometer is equal to that of the gps even at high speeds, never seen a car with this precise measurement. This also shows how Bugatti is well engineered in every detail and that the attention to high speeds is just the hallmark of this brand.

A Bugatti Veyron owner on Miami told me that to get the full 1001hp it needs at least 105 octane gas, with normal 98 octane gas it will be limited to 880hp if I remember correctly. That's probably why it was never going over 900 on the hp gauge, maybe the knocking sensors on the engine were detecting something and not letting it make all the power.

That's 472.2hp. Veyron's dragcoefficient(lowered)=0.36Cd Frontal area=22.3Sqft weight=1888kg Means it needs 472.2hp to maintain 321kmph.

Almost 20 years old and it’s still a crazy piece of engineering!
You need to run the correct octane to get the full 1000hp but at the same time this car is 15 years old and would have lost some of its power...it switches to handling mode because one or multiple of the top speed checks failed or it's been detuned to a top speed of 330kph by the rental company...either way, still a legendary work of art!
Check his pinned comment, he used 102 octane. Car is just old and detuned like you mentioned.
Even though it's 15 year old, if you're rich enough to afford this car, you can definitely afford to maintain it extremely well. The car should be able to go more than 310 km/h.
It didn't lose power because of age.

Congratulations, although I think you deserve the full Veyron experience. Buenavida is giving you the 2/3's experience. It seems sluggish, and floaty from 300km/h.
That spoiler should 100% be down when doing top speed. And when it said 800 hp at startup it's probably set for 95 octane. You have to manually change that. Don't ask me how but i've seen a video years ago about this.

Well there are 100’s of clips where the Veyron performs much much better and it should do 100-200 in 4.6-4.7 sec, factory claim is 4.8 but in many cases the Veyron has more than claimed 1001 hp.

Actually it was not. Its grandpa, the eb110 had 4 turbos too
Nothing irl is perfect. The conditions in this video are more than enough to reach its full potential. The car is faulty or detuned.

It’s on low octane fuel mode so essentially loses 1/4 of its hp
I haven’t pulled the information out of thin air, if you’re that familiar with the car then you’d know the specifics about being in top speed mode.
@@Car10121-s If you'd watched the video, you'd already have seen enough to know you're wrong in your assumptions.
Other than that, and just as example, speed mode does not get disabled by steering to a certain degree. What it does do, is restrict steering. That's something completely different.
I've driven plenty of these to know what does and does not work in speed mode, and what throws it back into handling mode.
@@kealke I watched the video so what was wrong with my explanation?
Restricting the steering how? Because that make no sense to me and just sounds dangerous

people are forgetting that the Veyron is a car that's about 15+ years old, 400km is definitely going to be tough for it since that's the top speed unless in a closed long straight, i still think it's fast enough for a 15 year old car y'all stop comparing it modern hyper cars like the Chiron. Be respectful to the OG
