This app to apk converter is insane… I’ve been looking for something like this to preserve my favorite icon pack, Pixon, that is no longer available but still installed on my device. This will come in clutch!
for anyone trying nova with the one ui 6 beta, if you have problems when leaving apps with swipe gestures, try going into "more options" in swipe gestures and select swipe from bottom. This fixed the problem for me.

I used Nova laucher for only 2 things: Stacked folders and the old Android 7 icon packs that are pre-installed on the app. It suited me because I was moving from Vodafone V8 phone to Smasung S10+.
I use many extra apps just to add widgets to my home screen. I don't use those apps, so i hide them. Works perfect with lawnchair v2, but i need to buy nova premium to hide apps in nova launcher. Otherwise I wouldve switched to nova 😔😔

I've been using Nova since my first Android in 2013 and here I am 10 years later still using this launcher as my daily driver. IMO there's a lot of launchers out there but nothing can compare to the stability and reliability of Nova! 😄

I can't wait for this update! I always switch to Nova when buying a phone, although I've went back & forth with my Pixel 6 Pro, only because the Pixel launcher is so clean. When my phone is paid off this fall & I finally get to ditch Pixel, I'm sure I'll be installing Nova right away. Thanks for the video. 😊 (I've always wanted to change the orange color. Any other color is preferable to me.) Notification dots don't work on my phone, either with Nova or the stock launcher. They'll show up for awhile, then disappear. Just another of the many Pixel bugs.
I hope the public release brings back folder pages, I hate how big some of my folders look when they have 20+ apps inside

Nova is well and truly dead now, having been entirely removed from the Play Store. It's about time. I can't believe Nova lasted this many years and was this popular with how garbage it was.

Hey Sam. Great video as usual. Would you recommend Nova Launcher 8 over the Samsung UI latest version.? I have Nova Launcher Prime on my phone and opted to stick with Samsung UI hoping that Nova would update.

I hope they add a padding customizer for the app drawer setting, I really like the list type app drawer, but the padding is too close to the left border

Been using Nova 8 since getting my S23 Ultra in February and it's remained my default since. Have always used Nova but stopped using it last year once the animations became a nightmare. Thankfully, that's no longer a problem.

So the gesture navigation animation drawback has been fixed in A13 1UI 5.1? Just curious because I used to be a Nova user until it became janky and I went back to the stock launcher.

@@alexalexander1749On my S23 Ultra, the animations for opening and closing apps are fantastic. Can't guarantee that this will be the case for all phones though.
I'm currently using nova which I didn't think I would be using. It's been a few days since I started using it. Not bad it has some things I definitely would change like it's setting menu and even that line up of options.

The only thing that made me sad is that for being able to have the discount, hence pay less on Nova, I first need to subscribe to your channel, hence pay more. Been a Nova Prime member since it's launch, but recently switched to Lawnchair and never turned back. My parents still have prime installed as their default launchers though
Mine developed a bug where it wouldn't show the icon images in folders on multiple phones so I moved to Microsoft launcher and it's been great.

Used nova until the point it was acquired by Branch. Moved to Niagara and it's been great except the gesture issue on Samsung devices. (I have an s23u...)

Hey, what are these simple dots icons? Which icon pack should I download to get it?
Is it possible to make windows phone like layout with Nova? Or just a home screen only setup (no app drawer)? It's possible to move apps one by one to the homescreen. It would be helpful if there is an option to just move all of the icons and arrange them.

Do the animations work with 3 button navigation because I use a poco phone and I used the stock launcher before because it used to let me set the icon pack to 3rd party icons but now it's gone and the icons look like trash, so I have switched to nova and have been using it for a bit, and the animations are a bit weird like when you exit an app it shows the animations but when you go to recents it doesn't show an animation, so I just want to know if other phones with 3 button navigation have support for the animations fluidly with nova.
As much as I like (and use) Nova (currently on version 7), I'm *still* waiting on support/optimization for folding phones! 😭 Currently using Z Fold 3 and will probably upgrade to either the Fold 5 or the Pixel Fold once they're both released, but the lack of optimization is killing me. Lol.

@octolockg5059 nope. At this point, not sure if it's worth the upgrade. The only major difference between my fold 3 and the Fold 5 is new chip and slightly better main camera which isn't important to me. Everything else is pretty much identical. The Pixel Fold is more interesting to me right now.
@@dhueu2 I heard the Pixel Fold is overpriced compared to the current market.
@octolockg5059 depends on the market you're in. I'm in the US. My only options for foldables are Samsung and Google. Pixel Fold is the same price the Galaxy Fold 5 will be when it launches soon.

Do you have app animations set as adaptive icon ? cuz mine kinda works when i open the app but it swipes down as i close the app... doesnt look as nice as yours where it goes down to the same spot where the icon is.... makes me kinda angry why it doesnt work :(

Is there away to have your dock showing at all times at the bottom? Currently I have a fold and when I'm multi tasking with two or more apps at once. The dock does not appear at the bottom. I only see the dock on the home screen. Is there anyway to make it persistent
Having installed and set Nova Launcher (using a Google Pixel 6a) as my default launcher app, I have been experiencing a lag when unlocking my device. When unlocking my device, it takes a second for the Nova Launcher home screen to load, almost as if the Pixel launcher is attempting to open first. Any suggestions on how to stop this delay. I've attempted altering various settings and permissions, including animation speeds within the Developer Options.
I wish they could add a good weather and calendar widget.
I've had a sad problem with Nova Launcher that resulted when opening apps: there was always a 1 second delay to open a app after going to the home page, that eventually drove me crazy so I went back to the home launcher (oneplus launcher btw, which is actually a good home launcher nonetheless)

Didn't found a workaround to use the launcher without this issue, which is possibly not a performance problem since my oneplus has a snapdragon 870 processor
That's google's gesture restriction for 3rd party launchers that's taken a hit at nova since Android 12 (or idk Android 11)

I used Nova as a beta tester for years and years. I miss it but until they have a proper folding phone support with either 2 optional layout or the ability for 2 screens to combine as one, I can't use it.
I have this issue in my tablet, they should implement a proper landscape layout as soon as possible, better a desktop mode.

The issue with Nova for me recently has been how heavy it has become. Of course the flagships run it perfectly, but it no longer runs smoothly on $200 phones. On the other hand, Niagara Launcher, because it's so new and is very focused on performance optimization, runs absolutely perfectly on my phone and I love it.

Issue with Niagara is that its way too expensive compared to others. Saw a video where two years ago it cost 15€, but now its somehow double the price of freaking 30€. 15€ was already steep but now its just absurd.
Not like I couldn't afford, but out of principle I ain't putting that amount of money to a launcher when competitors offer much more reasonable price. Nova works just fine with my Nord 3 so I'll just stick with it.

Thanks to Nova team for fixing the janky animations. That is the only reason I switched back to my default laucher.

I have been using nova since 2017 , but lately due to animations issues i stopped using it and switched to stock when I jumped to p7p.. i am prime user of Nova but last update of beta also don't know why is not fluid enough and i get some black shadows around icons when switching to home screen from an app.. which kind of ruins everything.. please suggest if anything can be done to fix this so that I can utilise the power of Nova on my p7p😊
Still no way to sort apps in the app drawer other than by alphabetical order... My work around is to rename all my apps by 01Settings 02Phone, 03etc in the numerical order I want them to be. I also like to have horizontal scroll and all my apps in 3 rows stacked at the bottom of the screen for easy access with the thumb.

Don't use Nova if you care about your privacy.They share data with third part companies. The best option for you is total launcher.. the learning curve is a little bit hard but it will not disappoint you. Using it since 1 year with heavy customisation and it had taken only 25 mb storage n never takes space in RAM u will save more battery
I miss Buzz Launcher! Customization and themes library on that launcher was unbeatable!

Keep in mind that there are still problems with gesture navigation and third party launchers. There's a small delay when going home from an app and being able to open another one. It's an android thing and the nova devs can't really do anything about it until google does
How do we now create new folder in the new Nova Launcher ? i try drag a icon over another... it does not now automatically create a folder but it just overlaps it
How did you get rid of the nav bar? Used to work for me years ago but nowadays they disabled it for some reason

I haven't been using Nova Launcher since OneUI 4 was released. The app exit animation on Samsung Phone is still not optimized. I slowly grow on the usage of stacked widget. OneUI 5.1 fulfilled almost 90% of my needs but I still miss the extensive gesture on Nova Launcher. One more thing that I hope Nova team to work on is the icon packs. OneUI will change the icon to darker color when dark mode is toggled.

I have been using nova launcher on my other miui based phone. Its great and very simple. Also doesn't consume much battery.
