Hey guys! Just a few extra things I wanted to mention: A lot of these Android 15 features were first found and discovered by the one and only Mishaal Rahman ( twitter.com/MishaalRahman )! He's an expert in the Android field, a good friend of mine, and in the video where I spoke on the Pixel Storage Health, Eyes Free Videography, Doze Improvements, Digital Wellbeing to 3P Apps, and NFC Wireless charging, he was the one to discover these as well! So just wanted to give credit where credit is due. You can even support him through his patreon: www.patreon.com/MishaalRahman On another note, a few things I missed or messed up within the video that Mishaal also let me know is that Google's Private Space does actually allow you to have a toggle to hide the private space when it's locked. A sigh of relief there for anyone was worried if it could be found easily. For Satellite Messaging service, its not live yet. Only the carrier settings page has started to show up for T-Mobile users. Nobody has been able to send an SMS over satellite yet. But hopefully soon! And the 16K Page Size doesn't actually improve performance in apps that are filled with various animations, effects, and videos. Instead it allows for larger page sizes that improve performance for memory-intensive tasks, and many devices with more RAM will adopt these sizes to optimize performance. Thanks guys and hope you enjoyed the video! 🥰
7:30 , it doesn't use the mic all the time, only when it's about to vibrate, then it checks the environment noise level and decides the vibration strength
People thinking Google is going to listen to what they are saying if they turn on that functionality, but not if they leave it off is hilarious 😂 if Google wants to listen to you they can do it even if you have everything turned off. They literally make android 😂
MKBHD falsely highlighted a screen recording feature that is now on Android 14, didn't know the space game was the same as Android 14... It's like he doesn't use phones for a living.
The most needed feature in any phone is independent Bluetooth audio streaming irrespective of the app you are running on screen in your mobile device like for example sometimes I just want to play lo fi music in background at home in speakers while using my phone to watch other content using the mobile speaker
Most of these "features" were already available in different OEM skins of Android such as MIUI, OxygenOS, ColorOS. Haptic feedback/vibration on volume change is there in OxygenOS/ColorOS android 14. Same goes for the big volume sliders and bluetooth popup which is there since last 4 years. My old Xiaomi phone with MIUI 12.5 / Android 11 has it.
Wow, thanks for the incredibly detailed Android 15 overview! So many exciting new features to look forward to. Really appreciate you putting this all together and sharing your insights. Can't wait to try out the beta!
wow shocking 😐 android itself is supposed to be basic and bare bone, companies add more features including their own UI. and it's not just Samsung, xiaomi, Huawei, one plus , oppo etc had many of these features as well. it's normal
@@aaaaaa-hh8cq yup other companies reskin and add their own features on top of android to stand out otherwise most of these features u could already get via apps but it's better to have them integrated right into system by default otherwise back in days u have to rely on rooting which was risky and hassle.
The only issue with android 15 private space is that it can not transfer files from main storage to private space or vice-versa. I hope google adds this feature in the future builds.
2:40 there is an option to lock it everytime you lock your screen and another to hide it everytime you lock your screen so that searching for it in the app drawer search bar is the only way to access it
Only if you know the new name will it pull up in Samsung ...EXCEPT stupidly when you reboot phone it asks you to unlock it allowing anyone stealing phone to know the new name of the Security Folder you ve changed...Don't know why they have this
@@mikuhatsune4081 after being on iOS since 2017, I will finally switch back to Android when the Pixel 9 Pro comes out this year. Tired of iOS especially after the iOS 18 announcement.
Not being able to install old apps is a bummer..It's been like this since android 13.. I've spent months looking for a way to bypass this..had no success.
If your phone supports 32-bit apps (so basically everything except pixel 7 and 8 series, plus you can install modded magisk to get 32-bit apps on pixel 7 series) you can install with (if you enable USB debugging and get adb and drivers on ur computer) "adb install --bypass-low-target-sdk-block apk_path_here.apk"
The page size isn't a visual page. That's a deep os feature used for memory management. It's not really a banner feature anyone cares about because it has performance pluses and minuses and unless you care about how OSs manage memory you don't care about them. Tldnr large datasets will be more efficient in memory and small ones will be less.
The craziest thing about seeing these updates is realizing these basic settings Samsung has had for years /decade weren't included in Android until now..
I have an idea for Hidden Space, It needs to be overlapped by the main OS so when you lock your phone depending on what code or encryption you enter takes you to your main or private space
In the past I owned an LG smartphone. I'm not sure, but I think LG had something like this. Depending on what password/pincode you enter, you'll enter the "main" phone or a (in LG's case) "restricted" phone
Yes LG had this, I had my left fingerprint for my secure space and right one for my main space that was amazing since nobody would ever notice the difference between both fingerprints/pin/passcode
These absurdly large control sliders, etc. that everyone seems to be clamoring over reminds me of a smart phone version of a Jitter Bug phone. It's like they're trying to capture the senior market.
im missing colorful notification led that i could program for different color depending on app. With always on display, it's easy to implement with a lot of flexibility, but android refuses...
I think you missed something... Built-in hypervisor virtualization support. Allowing Android to run hardware accelerated virtual machines within Android. There was actually a demo of a guy running a modified version of ChromeOS in Android as a VM. Might be the future of Desktop modes on Stock Android. I hope...
I think the move to the higher minimum API target is to make sure that all apps installed in your phone is compatible with the permissions management system introduced in android 6.
Google should add this features automatically turn off some features when sleep is detected or when phone isn't in use😅 it will save battery much also kill apps and then they should add this features like FREEZE apps activity like an app won't be able to get access network or drain battery this is most important as everyone's needs it.😊
This shows that one ui had some good tricks a bit earlier. I am happy though to see the push to dex/ desktop modes. I wish there is a day where my phone could fit all my computing needs.
Google could start releasing features to the whole world…they would have enough features for actual updates rather than their usual design tweaks - Find my phone - car crash detection - Phone AI features - …
P7P A15 B2. I'm not getting the "Save App Pair" option. Earlier I had read that that's available only on foldables and tablets, but this video showed it on a slab phone. So.... what gives? Did you have to change screen DPI to get it?
Is there a way to use the free form option on an app to make it move around freely without having to connect to a desktop? I like the idea of having apps act as windows in the background that can be freely moved around with the option to maximize it or exit it.
They should use the archiving technique for migrating to new phones. Having to set up each and every app again is a pain in the ass, especially with games that don't even save their progress on a cloud - which means you start from 0 on your new device with NO way to transfer the save!
People who are thinking there's not much visual change from the last version, why do you need? You have an OS that's streamlined and stabilized, and the visual AI is pleasant and simple, not overly complicated. It's better to bring a couple of visual and interface changes, and more bug fixes and stability updates than just make it look completely different from the previous iterations. Add to the fact that Oxygen OS and One UI are stabilized and streamlined as well, and you don't need overly complicated visuals that are a strain on the chips.
The thing with the app pairs being able to be saved on the lock screen was available on my Samsung phone from 2017 running Android 8, so I wouldn't call that a new feature.
Just saying sight messaging was just added this year for I was 18. But satellite roadside, assistant and emergency satellite has been added for like almost 3 years years.
