Crazy
😂😂
"Private space" existed already in Samsung phones for like a decade called Secure Folder
Private Space seems to be an Android-level implementation of Samsung's Secure Folder.
Same thing with the volume sliders
It's just the work profile feature accessible in a different way. You can do (almost) exactly the same thing by apps like Insular(FOSS)/Shelter/Island. Work profile has been in android since a long time, typically meant to be used by companies, but with these apps (and with the Private Space mode) can be used on a personal level.
Well android skins are always ahead of vanilla OS as they have to sell phones with features but android is made by Google and when they have to implement vanilla OS they try to make things simple and effective and easy to override for other OEMs so they need time. So it's the story of every year that vanilla android OS is coming woth things that are already present in Samsung l, MI, Oneplus and other mobile manufacturer's skin..
Same with most of the "small things" I feel
All features pretty much already exist on samsung

4:52 Partial screen recording is a game changer. To be able to record an IG live and be able to do other things on your phone while it's recording is what's needed on all phones rn.
Are you sure that's how it works? It looks like it paused recording when you leave the app. Also if you're trying to record an IG Live you'll probably need to keep the app windowed if you wanna do other things as an IG video won't keep playing if the app isn't present on the screen.
@@sadbravesfan Mmm for what I understand, it keeps recording the app in the background. So, theoretically, it should keep recording an IG video.
@@Tascioni49 @sadbravefan, It will be recording the video but the video itself will be paused once you exit Instagram, so technically, the recording we will get will be a paused screen from the IG live until we get back to the app.

I miss the led notification. I wish they kept it as a feature to flash a coloured light in the corner of the screen when off.
The coloured led notification part, and how you just end up ignoring it, always, was too funny 🤣
My rog phone 7 still has it and I love it. Sad it's gone now.
With AMOLED displays it would be extremely easy to reimplement a "led notification" by illuminating a couple of pixels or even just displaying a small icon of the app and save more battery vs an always on screen with a clock, notifications, battery status, etc. Take notes google...
In the end, that's what they were there for. Almost all of my phones notifications can be ignored, however as long as I don't know what it is, it could potentially be something that can not be ignored.
I have an app on my phone called LED me know... I got this s20fe in 2020 after my S7 bricked and the LED notification light was my favorite thing ever, so i didn't want to be without it.

8:45 - the notification LED is one of the things I miss most, I'd LOVE to have it back!
With oled they could just bring it back without having a dedicated led. Just let me have a small colored dot instead of always on display - done.
Same. Technically, since most phones are OLED now, they could replicate the effect by lighting up certain pixels (around the camera hole maybe) but I'm not sure how that would hurt the screen in the long run.
@@WhaleCostume Just move the point around. So every pixel gets used.
Around the camera? I specifically buy phones with intact screens and the camera on the side. But I'm strange.
@@WhaleCostumeI remember adding this on my first hole punch smartphone but I cannot remember which app I used. It might still be out there bit of searching.
Me too!!!
Samsung already had some of these for years but it's cool that now these are widely and natively supported
Yeah, it's kinda like watching iOS catch up to Android (or specifically Samsung) every few years.
The good news is that with it being built into base Android, Samsung could potentially use that to expand what they already have.
But Google just makes them worse and remove the better counterpart
I still miss the old real one-handed mode that Samsung and Sony implicated (actually scale the screen instead of just cutting the screen in half horizontally)
@@MaxLittleBuddy Samsung still has the one-handed mode scaled against the screen.

Hey Marques! The "Bodies" from the game are planetary bodies (planets). You can explore the 2 dimensional canvas and find 10 planets!
Haha I just left this video to try it out and it was pretty fun once you understood the mechanics 🚀
That's what I figured, but "bodies" is a really stupid term to use for that without any other context lol

@@_justin_king I believe they used "Bodies" as in "Celestial Bodies" since the bodies in question aren't only Planets, you can find Moons and Stars as well.

Honestly, those led blinker lights for notifications were pretty cool!!
And now with OLED screens you could actually just light up a few pixels occasionally to simulate such an led blinker. Similar to always-on displays. No idea why this isn't a thing.

Do yall have adhd?
With regards to vibration/sound notifications, just turned all of them off except for incoming calls. Nothing bad happened since then, and now I have a peace of mind :)
Still hoping this will become the default setting some day. Dings/vibros on everything was cool when messaging was a brand new thing, but now it's just obsolete. Everybody knows "call = urgent, message = take your time".
This is legit a nice useful tip
Yeah same here. I find that most of us (me included) check our phones multiple times a day it's highly unlikely to miss something unless we're truly busy, which means the notifications can wait. If there's something urgent someone will call and that's the only time the phone will sound and vibrate :)
The easter egg is literally the same as it was in Android 14, they haven't changed it yet.
I really hope they will change it or else it will really be a 14.0.2 like update
The bodies count in a video was 0/10. On the current version, the body count is 0/1.
It may be because it's a beta
A14 easter egg got released in around the middle of summer, so I think we should again wait until july-august for it
In case any one wonders, if you follow the solid lines that you come across in the "space", you can find "planets", and if you land your spacecraft on them, the 'BODY' count will increment and the details about that planet will be shown on screen.
1:43 Marques knows exactly what we'll be putting in there 😂😂😂

As someone with the Pixel Fold, having the ability to share Bluetooth audio is a godsend for traveling with friends. There have been so many instances where I have been on flights with friends and we have wanted to watch a movie or show together but couldn't.
Yea, that's a very underrated feature! I wished for that for so long!
I've been using that feature on my Galaxy M52 for a while, and I'm on Android 13. Is it an old feature or a Samsung feature?
@@Laura1006craft Samsung has this? what setting is it?
Pair two earphones and it will allow you to control both
@@Laura1006craft Samsung has it since Android 10. It is a Samsung feature that use Bluetooth and not inherently a Bluetooth feature. They way that they did if I'm not mistaken is basically they are sending 2 streams of audio, each one for each headphone. This Bluetooth LE Audio is much improved in that aspect. Bluetooth LE Audio allows independent audio streams to be streamed directly to different headphones (so basically similar-ish to the Samsung implementation but with more freedom) and it can also do broadcast which basically you can connect like unlimited amount of Bluetooth headphone/speaker/etc (the first method is obviously limited mainly because of the bandwidth requirement) and have those devices play the stream. Obviously the broadcast method doesn't allow unique stream for each devices, but most people just want to share audio and this method is perfect for it.
I’m so proud of you Ques, you came a long way brotha, you are my and my family’s trusted source for tech. Thank you for your hard work. 💪🏾

The easter egg space game is also in Android 14. It's space, there's rings that are have planets orbiting on them. Each planet you land on counts as a body. Find all 10 planets!

Always love the little details in the background like the mini android figures
Yeah those are really nice, I love em. For this, if the figures would jump closer to the camera ever so slowly in between a few select shots, it'd make for such a dynamic Easter egg!

Finding every planetary body doesn't do anything either. I had the star donut beta (UDC-40429) with 1 single body, I found it, even found the star (it was purple!) but you don't get any rewards for finding all the bodies.

Partial screen recording is something you didn't know you needed until you see it working. Great stuff and a great video to boot.
It's interesting how well they've implemented it aswell, its as good as on the PC, where the selected app's screen is still actively shown on the recording, along with any updates happening on like, like not just a still frame. Smartphones have a come a long way.

the multiple audio bluetooth audios is HUGE
As an Android dev I can say that apps have always had full control over the vibration pattern of their notifications. I think what the devs found in this update was a new system default vibration pattern per app which means users will be able to set that within system settings.
Bluetooth audio sharing is a major for me! Thanks mkphd

There was an "Easter egg" last one on the custom vibrations. Hilarious. I've been watching these videos probably since his first & I think this is my first comment. Possibly because I wasted time setting them just to ignore them as well. Thanks for the laugh.
Tell me why I've never even CONSIDERED using my thumb on the lock screen sideways like that until I saw you do it. I thought you might have scanned yours in horizontally, but mine (which was scanned in vertically) works sideways too.
I had an iPhone case back in the day (before switching to Android) that plugged into the lightning port on my 7+ and acted as a second battery. Not unusual. But what was unusual was it had a fingerprint scanner built in to the back that interfaced with iOS. I loved my custom vibrations back in ~2011 or so, probably with my Galaxy Nexus. Glad these are coming back!
I checked the 14 easter egg, it's the same rocket, but just one body instead of ten to find. And at the middle of the coordinates is a star and one polluted exoplanet called Donut Beta 1 that's orbiting it. It's really fun to play this. And I'm eagerly waiting to play the in 15
It's not just one. Every time you open it, it choses a different set of planets. Sometimes it's 10, sometimes 3 and sometimes 1. I don't know if there are other maps with different numbers, but I assume so.
The names and characteristics are all generated from lists of words too, so it's different most of the time
The number of bodies changes every day! Every day, there is a new universe to explore!
Just about to say it's randomised each time as well. Sometimes I've had 3, I think I've had sometimes 6 bodies when running it. My guess is it just picks some names and picks some planets/orbits for you to find. It's pretty cool to play around with when I have some spare time.
are the red lines surrounding the star the orbits of the planets?
@@jpara_dise Those are where it's modeling the gravitational pull around the star. The orbits of the planets are white. The planets also have the red circles where you can land on them

Maybe they are part of the pixel ui but google will make them available to everyone else with android 15

Custom vibrations! I've been waiting so long for that.
good lock is able to do this currently (if ur phone has it)
I still use a Note 9 so I had no idea new phones don't have the option to display blinking coloured LEDs anymore. I love this feature, will miss it dearly when I upgrade!
Wait till we reach Android 17 and 18, things will rather awkward. 😂

4 more os updates and they'll be out of letter deserts
