Great Info Officer Randall!!! .....when i am down in the states anywhere below the Mason-Dixon line.....it's not uncommon to see the deputy with shotgun in the rear view mirror ready to fire mode while his partner does the stop....and yes the walk up they do touch the back light....in most places....leave your hands on the wheel , be respectful and no sudden moves especially with "out of state tags"....it seems here is no different....it's all about respect....the funny thing about getting older is we aren't as polite as we once were but now we are dead honest..lol....and like you said..they already have the intel on the car and possibly you before they speak to you sooooo... be honest and don't tell lies!!! Thanks Randall cya in the next one!!

    Excellent and informative video!
May I also add how people should behave? When police signal you to pull over, do it immediately. Put the car in park, driver side windows down, interior light on if it's dark, turn the engine off, and keep your hands on the wheel. When they ask for your documents, tell them where it is (glove box or in your pocket) and ask if you can reach for them. Don't just reach for them. No sudden movements.
Don't argue with them, don't exit the vehicle unless they tell you to. Leave when they say you can leave. Be polite and professional with them, and they will extend the same courtesy to you.

So glad i became part of this channel. And im glad officers like Mr. Arsenault are still around and show respect to others when pulled over. Notice he said "good evening" after explaining that they run your plate before coming to the window. He leads by example. Its little words that take a stop from unnecessary insults going back and forth to a normal civilized stop. Some officers are all talk and then treat you terribly. They think they own the planet.

When police pull you over and issue a ticket, or when you receive a ticket from a red light or speeding camera, those tickets carry the same legal authority. It's important for new applicants to understand this and accurately report these violations if required on applications, such as those asking for the year and date of traffic violations.
When I filled out my application, I mistakenly answered 'no' to the question about whether I had been pulled over by a police officer because I didn't realize that camera-issued tickets needed to be reported as well. I later learned from a women's mentoring program that all traffic tickets, except for parking tickets, must be disclosed on such applications.
Even though my mistake was unintentional, such errors can make you appear dishonest.
This version includes the point that even honest mistakes can give the impression of dishonesty.
Thank you for the interesting video, Mr. Randy 🙏🏼

My personal advice always be a gentleman and follow rules, if you think you have been pulled over illegally or was not committing the Infraction you were cited for- take it to court. Canada has one of the best judicial system.

I feel like I ask too many questions but I’m a curious person :) and these videos are great in de stigmatizing what’s uncomfortable for many of us even those of us without a record etc. I have a question of clarification. What do you mean that police have access to whether you’re associated with someone under conditions? It may not be a comment that’s appropriate to reply to. I think I understand but I didn’t realize that info came up and how it may be used. I guess it makes sense to have that info. Anyway thanks again!

No it’s okay. So an example, someone might live at the same address on charges, but the driver could be the victim of domestic assault and is there is someone not supposed to be with them. That would show.

I got nailed at customs for being with someone I wasn't supposed to be. That I didn't expect. They were clear...one of us better leave before police arrived. They then searched my car for the person.

Another good video from a Police perspective. So here is a question you may want to answer in one of your video shorts and that is; can a person speed to the hospital if they are having a medical emergency such as for example their wife is having a baby and its about to be born? You may have already covered this as I am not sure. Cheers!

Officer Arsenault, I was recently in Vancouver driving a rental Chevy Equinox, and I was pulled over by a Vancouver Police ghost car. The officer said and I quote, ["So the vehicle comes back as a rental, can I see your drivers license."] I gave the officer my license, and they basically let me go. Is it normal procedure for Police to pull over "rental vehicles"?

Let’s say you pulled over someone going 50 over the limit and you let them off with a warning does it goes against the officer since everything is being recorded.

    • @OfficerArsenault

Well it could, let’s say you pull over three people doing the same thing and you let one off, you could be challenged but it would come internally first.

Probably I'm being a bit harsh here, but I firmly believe that those who constantly lie ,their recordings should be made public and they should be punished severely, especially if they've been warned multiple times about the consequences of their actions. If a few recordings are made public, people will stop exploiting the system.
Also , It will encourage the honest individuals to voice their concerns without the fear of being judged and enhance the credibility of their statements, allowing the police and other authorities to address genuine issues without assumptions or stereotypes.
