  • So I wanted to keep the car looking as good as it does now for as long as possible.
    Maybe this is of interest to anyone considering some anti corrosion or winter protection.
    I used Built Hamber Dynax UC which is a great product - bilthamber.com/product/dynax-uc/

    Coated the rear axcel and shocks on my Bmax . Brilliant stuff . Very pleased with Dynax UC. Combined with good prep and rust conversion using Hydrate 80. ❤

    Another great video.
    Bilt Hamber stuff is great. I’ve been using their wheel cleaner for years now.

    Great job, I've got a 13 year old Focus and I need to get under to clear some of the rust. Should have done it last year but kept finding reasons not to. Previously I've used Lanoguard, but the more RUclips I see, the more I often see Bilt Hamber being mentioned, and many swear by it.

      Thank you. I wanted to re do it last year but I never got around to it before it got cold. It’s seems logical to me to do it on a hot summer’s day so the car can dry before you seal it. I’ll make a point of getting under there this summer for sure 👍

      @@chrisfouracres1 Yes, I wish I had done it last August/September. Now I am struggling as where I live and park is not ideal, need my neighbours to be out so I can jack up the car, then I want it to stop raining. Still fingers crossed we'll get a bit of decent weather.

    Great video Chris! Dynax uc is great stuff used it on my Yaris when I got it new. Your mk8 is amazing underneath must have never been driven in the winter. I’ve seen multiple of them 10x worse than that.
    Have you ended up using atom mac yet? Not sure what I would be using for, just an extra layer of protection dynax uc doesn’t get?

    • @chrisfouracres1
      @chrisfouracres1  Год назад +1

      Hello mate, thanks for the feedback! No I’ve not used the Atom Mac yet. Tbh, I thought the Dynax would leave a much thicker coat and I would want to use the Atom Mac on visible parts behind the wheels but the Dynax is basically invisible! I guess I’ll just use it on the engine bay and break discs and just try to maintain those areas as best I can, in hind sight I might not have needed the atom Mac but I’m sure it’ll come in useful in time 👍

      My brother owns a yaris and it loves to rust, 2008, thinking of wire wheeling it back, painting it then Bilt Hamber UC it. How's your Yaris holding up?

    I was going to buy the 5 litres have a M3,M2 and couple other cars to do or would you recommend the aerosol cans

    • @chrisfouracres1
      @chrisfouracres1  Год назад +3

      The aerosol is the only one I’ve used so I can’t compare but this method was really easy and fast to do so I’ll definitely do it this way again.

    Thats come up so well pal. Beautiful car. It looks like it's left like a nice satin finish underneath? I've got the 5lt tub of Bilt Hamber UB but this spray (UC) looks like it would do. Thanks for vid.

    • @chrisfouracres1
      @chrisfouracres1  Год назад

      Yeah you can barely see it underneath, like you say, it’s just a satin sheen. It’s good stuff! 👍

      Hi. What consistency is the 5l of Dynax UB? Could you pour it into a normal hand pump sprayer and spray? Thinking of buying the 5l as its better value than the aerosol cans. Thanks.

    • @UnitGorilla
      @UnitGorilla 11 месяцев назад

      @@steffanjones3446 Hi pal. I would say it's too thick to use in a sprayer. I diluted the product with a bit of a white spirit and then applied with a brush. It takes a while to touch dry, definitely a few days, but it finishes black which is nice. It was a bit of a mucky job but applying 2 coatings has worked very well.

    • @steffanjones3446

      @alfredox-dawn1890 Thanks for getting back to me. That's really useful to know. I'm debating between whether to stick with Lanoguard or using Dynax UB. The 5l seems good value but don't know if its too much hassle and whether i should use the spray can in the video or the 1l pot. The lanoguard grease and spray was easy to apply but I don't think it lasts much longer than 6 months.

    What made you choose the SC over the s50 or UB stuff

    • @chrisfouracres1
      @chrisfouracres1  Год назад +4

      As understand the SC is the same product but dries clear. The UB dries brown and is more suited to an off road vehicle.

      Land guard is just a waxy / hydrophobic coating, it doesn’t have any of the anti-corrosive properties of dynax

      Took my Saab Aero wheel liners out - 05 no rust ! Applied Bilt Hamber wax protection to all areas - dirty job took about three hours for one side - luckily had lift made it so much easier - doing other side on Monday - car has also been Waxoyled - one Bilt hamber product has long lance ideal for doors and inside sills - great stuff 👌

    1 micron = 0.001mm, so 50 microns is 0.05mm.
