Tony Lester Interesting that it’s not an issue in the US. It’s to prevent vehicle theft as the OBD can be exploited to create a new key if you have the right knowledge. So if your vehicle has push to start, it’s not too difficult to get it moving without a key.
@@JBCTR ah I see. That may be potential here too then. Interesting. 🤔
That was very interesting watching this video best video buy far by giving people idear to Secure your car it was very good to watch this video and I would use a wheel lock on front or rear well done buddy good video 10 out 10👍
wayne allan Cheers Wayne 👍🏼
Thanks for that and i will do all that.
Does the OBD dummy port still work for the mk8 fiesta ST or is it no longer possible due to the design?
Not really, unless a company builds one specifically for this car - I've not seen one yet.
Hello I’m due to buy one of these Fiesta’s can you please tell me what an OBD is. Probably sound a bit stupid but I’ve never heard of it.
Mania28 on board diagnostics port. It’s the entry in to the ECU (on board computer) that can be used for nearly everything. It’s found in the footwell of the car. Have a rummage and you’ll find it 👍🏼
JB CTR thanks for your response, I’m due to pick up my car on Saturday so I’ll have a look.
Is protecting your obd a must as I am getting one of these next week
Just get the mountune upgrade. It comes with an app that can disable your car
What about using a classing gear stick blocker ?
Could anyone tell me what size Disklok is best for the MK8 please? Thanks in advance
Small
Good video bud! Really like the L bracket idea I might do that on mine instead of the £400 ghost immobiliser I was considering... I guess at the end of the day if someone wants to steal your car that bad they'll figure out a way to get around anything.
Matt Rosell I think that’s the sad reality, but it’s always nice to think you’ve made their life difficult!
I have a Zetec S without push start. Can the OBD still be hacked to start it?
Great vid, so well edited and brilliant to watch!
Glad you enjoyed it! And yes, anything with push to start I believe.
Will nicks 96 I think the immobiliser and alarm could be switch off with the obd but I’m sure they would have to do something to your ignition barrel as it’s a physical thing that has to turn. Push starts are the problem.
I am going to fitracket over obd port as shown in video with aluminium. Thanks fort help with that..I also disk lok.. but was also thinking of removing obd port fuse as you suggest..will this throw up any warning codes on dash? And can I leave it out until needs servicre etc. Cheers for the advice and keep up the great vids
Fuse ten on ford wiring diagrams to the bcm ( body control module) is listed as unused
Great video tho 😃
How do i stop mine being stolen by flatbed/car transport truck?
What size is that wheel lock?
Small
Why is no one mentioning that removing the obd fuse would be the best option out of them all? In my mind that’s a no brainier and would save you a lot of money.
Is it because thief’s can have their own fuse and simply plug it in?
What exhaust have you got on this mate?
Milltek GPF back. Videos and fitting guide on the channel :)
@@JBCTR Awesome. Cheers mate
11:08 don't do it like that!
That needs to be done in a vice if you want to retain a full set of fingers as well as your car
would you be able to just remove the OBD port everytime you park your car somewhere since it stops the car from working lol 😂😂
DAV Well yeah, but that would involve getting your spanners out each time 😂
I was thinking the same. You could just hand tighten the screws when in use to hold it in place. The worry is that the wiring connector would eventually wear and may stop working.
And then they come along with either a spare OBD port assembly or an adapter cable for that other rectangular plug!
Disklock & Revo SPS Then.
Aneel Ahmed-Jones Can’t go wrong with that combination 💪🏼
Quick question, got my Fiesta ST today with LED headlights, the headlights switch from off to autolamps on it's own when I push the ignition button, how do I stop this happening? Thanks.
Rob P Hey! I did notice this, but for once I find the auto lights to be quite good so I leave them on. Presumably there will be something in the settings if you wish to change it, but I’ve not looked yet. Try the settings both on Sync and also on the dash 👍🏼
@@JBCTR Thanks, have contacted Ford for help, had a focus ST3 and the lights behaved normally, the Fiesta's lights even automatically switch to auto lamps in full daylight and switches the lights on just weird. Thanks again.
How ridiculous with how far technology has come you have to use stop lock type devices in this day and age and go to such lengths , certainly a backwards step, time manufactures sorted this out
Declan Edwards A step forwards, and a step back at the same time 🤦🏼♂️ welcome to the modern world!
This I why I don’t buy new cars anymore, not only easier to steal but have lost driving appeal, e46 bmw for me for my fun second car
A good old steering lock is great puts off the idiots professional thieves will unfortunately get round most things
1.
Dont have keyless Go
It's standard on all ST's now so there's no avoiding it unfortunately!
@@JBCTR Oh, they changed it?
Glad that i dont have it on my one :)
Method 9 , wheel clamp
10:50 Scooby (listen)
minshum Hahaha! Just goes to show how distinctive those boxer engines are ;)
Can anyone help......Just wondering what size wheel disk-lock (referring to the one shown in the video) i would need for my MK8 fiesta ST. I beleave they are available in small, medium, and large. Am guessing it would be small for the fiesta ST ?
its small mate yes
4 ads for a 12 min video, bit annoying.
Download RUclips vanced on xda😉
AdBlock bro, install it
Now this is why they steal your cars easily...
I know it doesn't secure it or act as a theft deterrent but couldn't you just purchase an apple airtag to track the cars location if ever stolen?
The music is a pain.
Your video is perfect timing against this hot of the press news from BBC News!
Hundreds of popular cars ‘at risk of keyless theft’ www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-47023003
I notice my other post via a youtube video link describing how the key can be immobiised was deleted, so be it. UN SUBSCRIBED.
I don’t think I even saw your comment. Goodbye.
I want to marry your car 🚙 💖
Can I please make a compliment,
stevie 007 Of course, provided that ‘compliment’ isnt a typo for complaint. 😂
@@JBCTR Sorry for asking a simple question. I do apologise and I`m so sorry for inconveniencing you.
Freezing? Here it is -32°C and my new Fiesta ST is outside
Spoolin´ Shirley I’m British and I love a moan. Above 20 degrees and it’s far too hot. Below 10 and it’s far too cold. Between those temperatures, I’ll find something else to moan about 😁
