      @@kathypichey4306 - He was also known as “Sleep ‘n’ Eat”. Black actors had it rough back then. He died of cancer, at age 48. He was a fine actor.

    I only knew Milton Berle from TV, now I see he was a pretty good actor,,,he moved to TV
    at a good time,,,really made him famous,,!!

    I suffer from insomnia so I was scrolling down and saw this film.
    I can’t believe that the war was going on whilst these brilliant actors were making this film.
    The suits they wore were so smart, when men looked like men, and the women looked beautiful
    These films are just the best. I’d rather watch one of these films than the latest blockbuster in the cinema.

    A young Milton Berle, with Willie Best make this a great little murder mystery (NO one shows fear like Willie). Worth the watch😆👍

      @@samanthab1923 Thank u Sam. 2 of those I have watched. Not sure of other 2. Sometimes I don't remember the titles but when I start watching I will remember the movie. Just love watching them tho and with Halloween coming up hopefully there will be many to watch. New movies r great but there's just something nostalgic about old movies. The classy way they dressed and acting was more facial than today. Left a lot to the imagination too.

    These movies are great! Much better than the newer ones these days. They are all computerized. This is real acting. Milton Berle died in 2002. Great loss for the comedy movies like many other actors in this time period.

      Listen...not for Nothin but...can u imagine if we WERE still making movies look like this?? Actors today are just as good and better. The scenery and special effects only ENHANCE what we see. The Scores are much better. Costuming is better. We love and NEEDED these movies. And then we got better. Can you imagine if the Worlds food,medication,etc were the same???

    Always a treat to find Milton Parsons in a one of his nefarious roles, the professor in this one. A bit more screen time than he usually gets.

    Milton Berle's very early weekly TV show (Late 40s-50s) is said to be the reason for records TV set sales during that time period. Everyone wanted to watch "Uncle" Miltie.

    OMG - that's Milton Berle!!!!
    Best's line when the basket gets stuck is hilarious!! his delivery was perfect! I really did laugh. there are some really good lines in this movie.😋 never saw a young John Carradine - he was great!! thanks so much for posting!

    Willie Best along with Mantan Moreland as well as others were a irreplaceable presence in movies of that era.
    It's a shame they were not given the respect they deserved at that time.

    Well folks! It is what it is and that's all it is. As a kid, I thought this was funny. It should be noted, Milton Berle and Willie Best in the same movie is interesting enough.

    Willie Best.....i have seen him in many of Charlie Chan Detec,Series and sooo many Old movies. He was great at playing.....a simpletom.....yet with such unforgetable manner hard to replicate.....i love finding him in many old films.....Sadly not much mention of his talent.....of course RACISM played a large part of the lack of interest-focus mention of his talent.....Thanks for the upload.

    Love the old comedy thrillers like this that are smart and the dialogue has wisecracks. Stereotyping aside, this is a fun movie that sounds like it was a radio program or play originally.

    Well worth the watch. I'd give it two bags of popcorn! Some of the jokes were corny but still, you had to stay with the film to catch all the comic references. Thanks for providing it, especially commercial free. The pacing was too tight for greedy interruptions.

    It's fun, but "The Ghost Breakers" is much better, IMHO, thanks to Bob Hope and Paulette Goddard. But it was good to see Willie Best in this version, as well. He certainly spices up the movie...

    Oh ! We see a flashy display of "Modern Technology" @6:35 when the lady picks up the Portable Radio and carries it about while it plays ! I bet that radio didn't weigh any more than five pounds !
