Honeymooners find a dead radio producer in their suite.
Tagline: Murder in the air. Ghosts out to scare. Dead men in your hair.
This was such a fun movie! I love Arthur Lake...have seen all the Blondie movies. Thanks for posting it! ❤
DELIGHTFUL. Simply DELIGHTFUL!
Agreed!!
POOR DAGWOOD...HE GOES FROM THE FRYING PAN RIGHT INTO THE FIRE... AND IT JUST HAPPENS TO HIM...HE DOES NOT HAVE TO MAKE A MOVE AND IT WILL HAPPEN.......I LOVE HIM...AND THEN THE HAPPY ENDING.
That was pretty goofy.
So was the dame with the hood ornament on her head.
I love B&W Movies! I like them so much better than what is out in the theaters now a days, or even what is on the TV!
I even like the actors and actresses much better and the clothes were cool looking.
Thanks for this gem and for making my today happier than my yesterday!
And their hairstyles, especially the woman, these fantastic concoctions with not a hair out of place!!!
You said it all! My feelings exactly!! ❤❤
@@michelleduplooymalherbe2837 definitely! can someone tell MY HAIR to quit acting up??? 😊
@@lisaalbright8933 me too Lisa. :) a B & W MOVIE 🍿 is good for what ails you
I agree completely, they made all these great B&W classics and they are rated G and yet they are entertaining. That takes talent, from the writers and actors and directors. Today the only thing rated G is a cartoon, and even they are crappy. Not like the old Warner Bros Looney Tunes, made by artists, each individual frame. You can see the quality in those old cartoons too. Hollywood today depends on computer generated scenes and sex and violence and profanity. We don't want that, but it's pushed upon us , so we start accepting it.
This is the perfect Friday afternoon movie. Thank you 🇮🇪
Sunday morning in bed & it’s a rainy day. :)
Thank for keeping the oldies and goodies alive.
Go to, talking pictures tv channel on, freeview, sky tv and virgin tv. You wont be disappointed I promise you. I,ve been watching classic movies on sony classic movies too.
The days when the studios were churning out movies for a war weary public. Thanks for your time and effort ! July 2022

So glad for commenters such as you, who add what certain 'uploaders' fail to do.
any minute I expect him to scream, ''BLONDIE'' This guy is a walking typecast.
You've got it, right there. And others here have described him as 'a one-trick pony'. I never liked him.
This is so true. Anytime you find someone murdered it's best to move and hide the body until you can solve the murder. That's the best move if ever in doubt. Also lie to police so they will see how brilliant you are when you solve the mystery.
Dear Alan Sampson, thank you for the large laugh your comment gave me. The way you worded it is hilarious!!!
Alan Sampson 🤣
This is doubly ironic when you recall Arthur Lake was called in for questioning during the infamous Black Dahlia murder case. No, that's not a joke. Google it.
@@julianhermanubis6800 Wow! I looked it up just now. I love old Hollywood trivia, but had never seen this. Thanks!!
Lol 😆😅🤣
I adore Arthur Lake’s “huh?”….in this movie and in EVERYTHING ELSE I’ve seen him in. He was one of a kind for sure.
Especially his Dagwood sandwich❤
Matt Willis was Andreas, the werewolf slave of Around Tesla (Bela Lugosi) in Return Of The Vampire 1944.
You know you are an old movie buff when you notice that Frank Sully (in this movie) is a dead ringer for Frankie Jenks....Thanks for sharing this film.
Sully was in a bunch of the Boston Blackie movies playing Detective Matthews
Thanks,I thought it was Frank Jenks.
@@jimparallel6233 I've seen Frank Sully in a lot of films and had thought that he was Frankie Jenks. I usually open the IMDB listing to find out who's who while watching movies and simply assumed. In any case both gentlemen were great character actors and well worth checking out.
I thought it was a really good movie. A bit goofy perhaps, but really good. Thank you for Uploading
"Murder in the air. Ghosts out to scare. Dead men in your hair." I do declare it's all there.
🤣

@@guesswho5122 and bear, I must, on a dare.
I can’t believe I’ve never seen this gem! Thank You!
I love movies with Lynne Roberts in them.
Every role Arthur Lake does, he appears to be doing his Dagwood character more or less. He's a one-trick pony, although it's a decent trick.
I knew that dude was Dagwood Bumstead. I was just checking the comments for a clue and your entry was the first up. very good analysis too.
I saw all the blondie movies. Author lake was a perfect dagwood greats films.looks like this is good too.
I saw him in a movie before the Blondie films and he was playing the same bumbling character. He was Dagwood Bumstead before Dagwood Bumstead.
a little of arthur lake goes on forever, and the rest of the cast goes right along with him.
I don't like comedy bit I love black and White movie but watched the whole firm.. sitting up lol to my self. But I will it a 8 in score thanks for the 🎥 movie😊😊😊😊
Arthur Lake, of "Blondie"😊!!
Dagwood being Dagwood.
57:01 I always wondered about those open barred "windows" in the back of jail cells that opened up to the free world.
1. What happens when it rains or is cold outside?
2. Most importantly, it is so easy for anyone to slip them any kind of weapon through those open bars.
Even the old Andy Griffith show had open windows in the backs of their jail cells.
The funny thing about the back windows on the Andy Griffith show was, when they showed you the Sheriff's Office/Jail from the street view, there was a building connected to the that side of the building with no space in between. From the outside, the buildings shared a common wall leaving no space between the two buildings, making it impossible to have back of the cell windows.
In Support Your Local Sherrif, James Garner's jail had no bars on the windows or cell doors, he just red paint of the floor like a blood stains and Bruce Dern it was the blood of the last prisoner who tried to escape
@@ellenthorne8222 loved those old james garner movies totally redicuous but inspiring
@@ellenthorne8222 Am liking lots James Garner's and Bruce Dern; him have no boundarie's in the films like bars on window or lock door because powerful charcters they have.
@@ellenthorne8222 .
Love, Andy Griffith Show 😊!! Yes, I also always pointed, that out. Especially for, weather enclosure. I can see in the southwest, where it's warm.
It reminds me of Haunted Honeymoon(Wilder and Radner)
Terrific movie
Love old movies 🎬 🎞 🎥 🎦 📽
Thanks for upload!! Nice little movie!
Great little film. I sincerely enjoyed it! Well worth watching. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏💋thx!
Great video, thanks for posting
Wasn't he married to Blondie Bumstead, aka Penny Singleton? I hope she never saw this movie.
I wish I hadn't.
NEVER NEVER touch a body or anything on or around the scene where the body presents. Don't touch anything anywhere connected with a possible crime, specifically, murder or an assault, or a rape!! Don't take my word alone, call a criminal attorney!!
Great movie.
Awesome 👏 old movie 🍿
Still till this day watch good classic movies these kind of movies you won’t ever see them today I very rarely watch TV today this generation of TV is not like when I grew up in the 70’s I watch the good old classic movies example Charlie Chan/ Abbott and Costello and Three Stooges and they had special effects then I can go on and on thanks and enjoy
It's strange, I use to refuse to watch B&W movies . Now it's all I ever watch . These class films are terrific . @44:39 is the exact location of where much the see nary of the Disney production of Zorro was filmed . Starring Guy Williams :)
I'm the same way. It like a treasure I just found
@@sherrihinton8567 Yes, I love them also 🙂
I know people make fun of me for watching old movies saying color TV has been invented 👌 🙃
@@kathypichey4306 I quit wasting my time in front of the TV 12 year ago 😉

I've heard of Christmas in July which I thoroughly participate in with All the movies about ghosts 👻👻👻👻 must be Halloween 🎃🎃🎃🎃 in August. Lol 😮😮😮😮
I like James Rockford's idea better. DASH OFF & LET SOMEONE ELSE FIND THE BODY.
The rumble in the foyer reminded me of one of those family xmas gatherings we read about.
Corny but a humorous look at what radio was like back in the day. I thought it quite fun, thanks for posting!!
Poor Arthur Lake just couldn't help being Dagwood!
Yeah Arthur Lake has been gone for a while and probably has been forgotten by a lot of people but I remember him the Blondie movies were great I mean he did 36 of them that's a lot the good thing is he seem like the dad would in the comic strip no one else could have done it as good as him I know that I will never forget him I thought he was a very funny actor they don't make movies like this anymore they don't make movies like The Blondie movies anymore Hollywood went woke and now it's going broke the horrible price of progressive communist liberalism
I disagree. I like all kinds of movies. Just because I like to share older or underseen films doesn’t mean I don’t like modern stuff as well. I’m glad you liked this though!
I'm not alone in my viewpoint of modern movies there's a lot of people that have said the same things I said about them. Movies nowadays mostly are not as good as they were back in the Golden age there will never be another golden age of Hollywood those days are over yes every once in awhile they can make a good movie like a Batman or the first Wonder woman but overall the quality of movies that Hollywood makes has gone way down and all the cuss words in the excessive violence in movies a lot of people don't like that and that's why Hollywood doesn't sell movies like they used to. I mean I keep reading about one Hollywood movie disaster after another at the box office lately I've heard people say because that movie was woke it bombed at the box office that ain't good whatsoever I know you disagree which is fine but Hollywood will never ever return to its golden age greatness. And most people agree with that because I've read a lot of people saying that. Yes every once in awhile I see a modern movie I like but that's just every once in awhile all these stupid movies with all the computer stuff in them they're no good trying to replace stuntman with computer men that doesn't quite work the Batman's good because it's a film noir like the old Humphrey Bogart movies back in the 40s and 30s no computer effects at all in this movie just good acting and stuntmen.
@@wayneramquist367 Agree completely!
Arthur Lake had to looks to play Fred MacMurray's younger, dumber brother in a comedy.
Heavy on the 'dumber'.
always liked Arthur Lake mugging.
Another fella that was popular in his day but who now is long forgotten.
That was fun.
Great classic ❤
Thanks for movie!!
This looks like a goodie!
Indeed it is.
And I really don't walk in my sleep. 😴😱😂 LOL
That actress really plays some zany characters in many movies and was always a delight.
A bit spook light but moves along at a brisk pace and is enjoyable enough.
There are an amazing number of double entendres in the first few minutes of this film for one that's post-Hays Code. LOL
I never saw Arthur Lake acting in anything but the Blondie movies. He was in all 28 of them. Unfortunately, it is obvious that he was type-caste into his character. I still enjoyed this movie very much!
Entertaining, but then this is 80 years ago.
Good movie!!
Odd looking hairstyle on the blonde
There was a time I enjoyed this movie, but I so detest bullies that I just can't watch it now!
That's me too.
THAT HAIRDO!!!!!!
😮😮😮
@@marymayer2282I watched this? I guess I did.
I'm the weather man in our little world . Bahahahaha . Funny!!!!!🤓🤓🤓
Problems go WAY back, don't they.
Yes I mean the same, more I watch
Separate beds on honeymoon. Quite, quite normal.
It was because of the codes. These movie codes made it so married couples could never be in the same bed, etc... These codes came into effect in the 1920's.
Try watching "Babyface" starring Barbara Stanwyck. Its very steamy! Its one of the reasons the the codes were created.
Don't bemoan the Hays Code- it helped stall the filth in today's films, which is why most of us are here now.
Absolutely 🤓
Blondieieieieie!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lol 😆😆😆😮😮😮 Dagwood and a dead body what' else could you ask for this reminds me of the movie. Who done it ? With Abbott and Costello another fun movie
Fun. Thank you.
A little of the guy plays Grant, goes a long way!! Other than that pretty fun movie. Corny but fun.
For Real 😳🙂
I sit next to a fireplace, after shivering outside
🔥
Dagwood!! Movie trivia: Arthur Lake was married to Marion Davies' "niece".
His wife was actually the 'love child' of Marion Davies and William Randolph Hearst.
@@leelarson107 Yes. That's what I've read. That's why I put the word "niece" in quotes. They tried to hide her real parentage. P.S. I just love Arthur Lake. So cute.
Presumably Hearst and Davies biological daughter. Hearst told her that on her wedding day to Lake.
Lee Larson yes
Her real daughter.
Oh, my gosh! Dagwood Bumstead and he didn't marry Blondie.
Blondie should have had better taste.
Dagwood sure is stupid but funny .the poor guy is an accident waiting to happen
Stupid is as stupid does --- and keeps on doing!
Pretty awful but the odd good line. Thanks for uploading
Thank you for this crazed murder movie. lol that was fun.
LOLOL! Look at the overblown Joan Crawford!😂
Still the same Dagwood laugh 😂😂😂😂
Why does that blonde have the front end of Mercedes on her head?
Perhaps less affluent women had Model Ts on their heads.
Toyota hadn't hit the market.
OMG 😁🤣😂
Because she's a classy model.
How did women sleep with hair like that? lol
They didn't necessarily. The look required a lot of padding, netting , pins and lacquer.
The sister did not know her brother had gotten married but she had a huge wedding cake on hand (just lying around?) to serve them shortly after they arrived at her house, all decorated and everything! Great editing for this film, eh?
What? She tells to that Tom character that they had gotten married before they go in
Is that Dagwood?
A Good 🎥,Thanks 😀
TY for this comedy-murder classic starring Arthur Lake (Dagwood) of the famous Blondie movies. Arthur's character, Eddie, in this film acts exactly as Dagwood Bumstead...no variation at all...comedic bumbling!
Got that everyone? RADIO audience. Therefore, VIDEO, vidience.
4.17....just like a women.....using the ultimate weapon no man can resist!
Eddie Grant? I've watched the entire thing, and not a single bar of reggae.
cute
Was that Dagwood Bumstead on the sound machine?
look who did the set decorations, truly .
Not a great Movie, but worth the watch !
Dagwood Bumstead!
Well, I only made it to 20:15. Too stupid for me. Arthur Lake character too annoying.
That's why I don't watch any movie that he's in; I just caught this by mistake, and didn't stay for all of it.
great
Ok 😊
Sure 😊
I know he was in a lot of good movies, but I could never stand Arthur Lake.
Apparently intended as a Three Stooges type movie, but with extra stooges.
Not for adult viewing.
1:00:45 After the woman screams and he starts running upstairs, why would one of the other men yell, "Hey, come back here"?
Wouldn't they all want to run upstairs to help the woman screaming?.......
And what if he did stop and come back? What would happen next?
Would they all just sit around downstairs talking whilst the woman upstairs is still screaming?
Just wondering.
Nope. If I want that much slapstick, I'll find an Abbot & Costello or Marx Bros. The only believable character is the sister, and she cuts it close! Thanks, but not for me.
Sorry! Just a bit too dumb for me! A bit goes a long away! Made it to 42:15..
But don't you want to know how it turns out in the end? It's just like a live version of a radio show. Who done it?
I've been watching a lot of older movies lately, & usually enjoy them. But this one I couldn't watch more than half way.
I thought is was funny...how can you not love Arthur Lake?? Guess you are not a fan of the Blondie and Dagwood movies either.
