My life experience informs me, unequivocally, that "the Xs and Os are more important than the Jimmys and Joes"...coaching is the greatest difference-maker in sports. That said, Michigan just had 14 players named to the All-B1G defensive team...three to the first team. The rules of this game are stacked in favor of the offense-Michigan has the best defense in the B1G...maybe the country.

What will end this game real fast us if Iowa goes 3 and out constantly like they did against Penn St. Yes this defense is phenomenal. But when your offense can't give your defense time to rest between series for more than 3-5 minutes total. Its going to tire the defense out real quick.
Iowa's defense was completely gassed by halftime. They were on the field for almost a quarter and a half in the first half of that game.

@@matthewwyatt2044agreed! Hence the term “west coast offense”, where they just keep trading big passing play touchdowns. The Pac-12 teams have been structured this way for years. They setup big passing plays that eat big chunks of yardage quickly. They focus more on offense in the milder weather of the west coast. Not saying they can’t have good defensive schemes, but they typically focus more on offense.
Then in the BigTen they’ve always tended to focus on big defense schemes that stop heavy run teams because the weather is typically cold, wet & windy the last half of the season where throwing the ball becomes risky and you typically see tighter games….like 13-10 or 17-14. It’s been this way for many decades.

Iowa has played below average QBs all year. They have not seen a team like Michigan who can flood the field with athletes and stress the defense both horizontally and vertically. That zone defense will get eaten alive by TEs and RBs in the pass routes. They are also very small up front. They won't be able to sit in zone all day when Michigan starts to run the ball. They'll have to get the safeties involved in the run game and that's when RPO and playaction will start clicking.

27 - 3 Michigan. Iowa will play tough, but Michigan is too much.

So what you’re saying is Michigan just gonna run it down their throat’s like they did against Penn State in the second half an entire half of football running the ball against a much better team without a recorded pass in the second half of that game Joel you need to stop rooting against Michigan

JJ has a hose and 〽️ichigan's run game will be way too much for Iowa. If they stick around for an entire half that's a win for them. Go Blue! 〽️〽️〽️〽️〽️〽️

Michigan better focus on this game and not look ahead. Michigan is overrated offensively and while I expect them to win this game, Iowa is very well coached and will be ready. UM will go on to lose in the first round of the playoffs to the team that ultimately loses to the SEC Champion. Hairball has had multiple suspensions this season and UM is being treated with velvet gloves for it's transgressions. Hairball is a mediocre coach at best.

Iowa’s defense will be tired by halftime much like against PSU. Your offense can’t sustain drives. We dominated defenses better than you on the ground. 227 rush yds against PSU. 156 against OSU. Both defenses are better and have faced better competition. Michigan 49-0
