• Joel Klatt on how Mich...
Dopest fanbase???
Michigan by a mile
Yes sir! Great segment, Joel!
Lol. Biggest Kool Aid drinking cult of a fanbase that has ever existed. Your team and coaches cheated for 3 years. Two coaches will likely be in jail. 4 others fired. Show cause penalties and bowl bans incoming yet you continue to blindly follow them. Sad.
We are the dopest fan base. We have been through so much adversity but we held strong. Some of us fell off but got back on in support of Harbaugh. Our university finally has the coaches backs 200% we have the best coach too. 4-8 to 12-0
I’m sure every school as well as alumni and fans think it, but that being said I think this one is extra special.
Everyone on the outside can call these players and coaches whatever they want, we love these guys and this team more than anything. I think they know that.
Forever love Team #144...Go Bluuuuue
Truest thing ever said on the internet. MICHIGAN VS everyone
I was gonna like this comment but it has 144 likes and I thought it should stay that way. Team 144 the best ever
Joel, the Zinters are very close family friends. I was with Zak and his parents at UofM hospital. I missed all of this while trying to deal with the situation. From watching Zak from the stands just a few rows up excelling like he always does, and in an instant lying on that turf, my heart sank to a state of shock. This video you made is something I’ll cherish forever. You portray this team and Zak in a way that I’m not sure anyone else could. One day I hope to shake your hand and give you a hug. I know Zak watched this as well, and got very emotional. Thank you for being the best in the business.
Lies make baby jesus cry!!
I was there in the stadium and that moment was extremely emotional. They didn’t show the injury on the video boards so we didn’t know how bad it was. At first, we thought he might be paralyzed because they brought the stretcher out so fast. I have never heard the stadium that quiet. Then, we saw them get out the aircast, so a little relief went through the crowd. Someone yelled, “We love you, Zak!” Then the chant started and 110K people were chanting together. I got chills all over my body and had tears streaming down my face. I’ve never been a part of anything quite like it. And then when Corum scored on the next play, it was complete pandemonium. The Michigan fans love Zak and wish him a speedy recovery! Go Blue!
Credit the visionaries who have made the changes to the Big House over the past two decades. A generation ago, the chant would have had no life to it, and gone into thin air. I think that a lot of lessons were learned from a certain road trip to Autzen, two decades ago. This moment is indicative of their application in Ann Arbor. When a crowd knows that it can be a factor, it will become one, when needed.
Let's go Zak, and let's go Blue!
I was there as well. I knew something bad happened by the amount of time it was taking and the reaction of the team but as you said no replay. It was surreal how quiet it was in there until that that chant happened. Goosebumps, just typing this.
I was there as well and you described it perfectly. The “We love you Zack!” seemed to be the thing that prompted the chant. One of the most dramatic emotional shifts I’ve experienced in the big house. Fear and worry about how/if this team could move forward the same without him, then immediately seeing them respond with one of the few big plays given up all day. Amazing.
This is a Masterpiece Joel. It’s your gold. Really makes you look at football differently. Truly a life changing moment for the players and those that witnessed it. The crowd carried the day. This story has movie like vibes.
Reminds me so much of Rudy. Love our fans, they are the absolute BEST!
So glad that you re-cut it like this as a standalone piece, Joel.
Ohio State showed incredible class! they had to filter through the emotion of a nasty injury too ! I read Ryan day went into the tunnel and talked to zak's parents.. When it comes to these types of injuries , it's a brotherhood no matter what color jeresy you're wearing! go blue
This game was amazing on so many levels. People were predicting the players to get nasty with each other and the fans to be angry and heated, but the emotion was left entirely on the field and in the stands. In the end there was respect for each team, from each team.
That's how team 144 is built.... There's a lot to take out of that video when you see the clock above Zach in the hospital bed when Harbaugh is sitting next to him.... The game is still going on.
And kudos to Joel klatt.... That had to be a tough thing to watch and even a harder thing to cover...
For those of you that don't know very similar thing happened to Joel in his Colorado career.
And when Blake flashes 65 the very next play..... That's some serious energy
Ive been watching Michigan football for nearly two decades, which I know is not a lot compared to some. We had high expectations coming into the season with National Championship aspirations. But the emotion and heart that I have seen from this team, in my limited knowledge of sports history albeit, is just unmatched. There have been some incredible occurrences this year. With Harbaugh missing the first three games and now the last three, the incredible story and meaning behind the 47 YARD TOUCHDOWN FOR #47 against UNLV, the very emotional postgame by Moore after the Penn State win, getting our 1,000th win as a college football program, and now the TD run for #65. This season has been like no other season for any team in any sport that I can recall. It seems like destiny that this team is headed for a championship.
Just to carry out a Big Ole L like you usually do.
@@litedawg what may happen may happen! As for me, this has already been an incredible season. Your little yammering is not going to disturb the great joy I have gotten from this team. Oh, and BTW, we beat Ohio State three years in a row.😂
@@litedawgjust watch…. You obviously have no faith, and spoken like arrogance at its finest given the video you probably didn’t even watch. Should probably just keep your comments to yourself. Ohh 😲 I forgot! GO BLUE! 〽️🏈 Team 144! Dem Boyz Gonna Get It!
Congratulations on the championship. You were spot on.
@@litedawg Was a pretty Big Ole W
Michigan had two paths to choose after his injury. Fold, or Fight even harder. This Michigan teams fights.
After what Fake News media and the B1G did to this program, their response was epic, so a big thanks to them for motivating this team even more.
Michigan vs Everybody.
Thank you Joel ... We at home had no idea of all that happened during the commercial break. What a great story. And great job on the video editing... Thanks for making me cry 😭
This had me in tears. One of your best pieces. You are truly a master of your craft. 👏
i was at the game, on the opposite side of where the video was filmed (section 39). i was one of the only people in my section that was chanting. it was terrifying to see him motionless yet it was cathartic to hear an entire stadium erupt in the chant for him. this is something i’ll remember and tear up when i think about it for the rest of my life.
I feel this Klatt. Much respect. Senior year hits different
Everything Joel Klatt said here is 100% true. I was at the game. I was tearing up in the moment while cheering "Let's Go Zak. Let's Go Zak...." . I was sitting in Row 19 on the 50 yard line. A guy behind me said that he saw the injury and it was grotesque. Then, Blake took the next hand-off and scored, after that extended injury timeout. I could not believe what I had just witnessed over the past ten minutes. Totally unforgettable. Michigan had the momentum from that point on and never gave it back. Thank You Joel - great job.
Get well soon, Speedy, recovery big guy. You'll be back bigger, stronger and faster
Coached high school football for 28 years, and we had this happen against us playing a league rival.
Tight game, momentum looked to be on our side and one of their players went down with a broken leg.
We ended up losing by 3. Their whole team rallied. Even being on the losing side, it was really impressive to see them come together.
I’ve been a Michigan fan since 1981. There have been dedicated, focused, gritty teams before. But there is something just a little different with team 144. Is against the world mentality like no other. Special season, no matter what the final outcome.
It was an absolute incredible scene. Literally had goosebumps during this moment.
God Bless you Zak “you are Michigan” beloved by every fan. Prayers for you.
I was at that game I never in all my years experienced anything like that the love
from the fan base for Zak.
Most Michigan team that Michigan has ever had ❤
Yeah big osu fan sad to see him get hurt. But instantly as I turned the volume up of them chanting I knew it was over 🤣🤣🤣. I got goosebumps not even Ryan day screaming as hard as he could “it’s always been about Ohio against the world” could inspire my team to beat Michigan in that moment.
People have said everything under the sun about michigan, negative things. That group the last 3 years, you won't see any group fight and never give in like they do. No matter what's happened they don't give an inch. Proud to be a fan of this team for over 30 years
Watching sack throw his hand up as they chant his name you can see the pain on his face as they cart him makes me cry for him this is my favorite Michigan team ever I hope we win it for 65 ❤
GOD BLESS AND BE WITH YOU ZAK, LOVE YOU BROTHER GO BLUE〽️
Gold. Well done, Joel and team. All the best !
Zak is a Michigan Legend, he was instrumental to the turn around in this program. Best Michigan OG since the Hall of Famer Steve Hutchinson.
Zak, came back for another season, thank you. I'm sure it was very emotional for him getting carted off the field. Just know, Zak, you were a massive part of the win. Tip of the cap to the crowd for restarting the game and once again, along comes Blake with a touchdown and flashes the number 65, just like Blake to be thinking of others. Congratulations to the crowd, players, coaches and all involved to get the win.
Love this Joel, thanks for being so genuine and open in this video. Zinter will be back and will be a beast in the NFL.
More than a football team.
More than a game.
More than a rivalry.
A brotherhood.
A family.
One for all.
All for one.
Go.
Blue.
The Team, The Team , The Team
Thank you Joel.
What alot of Michigan fans don’t know is Ryan day ran in to the tunnel to find zinter and his parents
I heard that on the OSU radio broadcast. Class move by him.
I was there. It was pretty epic. I have been to a lot sporting events where players get hurt, but I have never been a part of something like that.
I have been to a few of the night games and incredible things have happened in that stadium that could never be duplicated in any other venue in my 60 years of going to games. The ND game at the end was epic. The blocked punt for the msu win was heart wrenching. But that moment for Zak and that team... that was truly special.
I just feel for big Zak zinter man, I went out the same way my senior year in highschool it just feels terrible. BUT FOREVER GO BLUE BABY!!!〽️〽️
Klatt editing team really putting in work
I wish I could explain things the way Joel Klatt does. Best sports analyst hands down! Doesn’t spew hate but still calls it like he sees it and is honest instead of starting a narrative that isn’t true. This is beautiful. Good job Joel.
Thank you Joel! You are one of the best!
Wow, sounds like one of those moments I wished I could’ve experienced in person #GoBlue #LetsGoZak
I was there too, you summarized so perfectly
Joel, this piece was beyond epic. I've watched it a couple dozen times and I still get emotional every single time. Wow. Love everything you do, but this is got to be the best thing I have ever seen. Thank you!!!!
Thank you for this, Joel. and thank you for sharing about all that happened during the commercial break. for those of us who watched at home, there was apparently a lot that we knew nothing about. I wish I could have been there in person 👌
I hate the fox network robbed us of that moment during the 50 commercials that was played.
Thanks for sharing your experience through your eyes Joel.
To all of us University of Michigan fans there more to us than just Michigan football our family and our friends and players come first. Even though I never met Zach Zinter I would like to wish him a speedy recovery and all the best
Emmy-worthy (I know it doesn't qualify). Well done, Joel.
So amazing to be there for that. I was blessed. I try to tell people that there is NOTHING like seeing games live. You don't see this in your living room. Glad Joel got choked up. He wasn't the only one.
seeing him get hurt watching the game made me cry but when Blake scored I couldn’t stop screaming and man when I tell you I’m so confident in that team in winning a national championship
I love this team. GO BLUE!
It’s crazy how this stuff really gives you the chills
Try to watch this video without a tear 😢 🤧 and then realize what sports mean regardless of unform or rival. 👏 klatt
I wasn’t able to get tickets to the game but live like a few miles away and I went outside to greet some family that just got to my house and when I got out there I started to here the zak zinter chant
Thanks for detailing this for those of us who watched from home, Joel.
Great video. I seen the original but i like how this one was put together
Joel is a national treasure
When Blake popped that run the Big House went nuts even the Ohio St fans next to us called game. They knew this team wouldn’t be stopped.
Amazing!!!
That was "Totally Awesome" as a middle aged guy who played teams sports growing up this brought me to tears! Go Zak & Go Blue!👍🏽💙
Thanks for expressing this Joel! God bless!
Excellent video, not a fan of Michigan but y’all are a great institution and fan base.
Beautiful, raw interview! ☮️&💟
Wow! I felt that! Go Blue! 〽️
Good job. Thank you for doing this. I hope you follow up with Zak as he heals. There's nothing like Michigan - the players, coaches, fans and experience. That's why we all keep coming back.
As a Michigan alum I'm glad you did this, it was an important part of the game.
Beautiful moment! Glad I got to be part of it as a student
Being in that stadium in that moment and experiencing that in person was and will probably always be one of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen in person at a college football game
I was there, it was an amazing moment to be a part of
Respect for Joel. Let’s win three more for Zach. Let’s Go Blue!
Incredible outpouring of love and support for Zak, his family and team. Buckeye fans showed incredible respect and the Ohio State coaching staff gave him a standing ovation. The Buckeye players were also wonderful. JT Tuimoloau showed us a human being beneath the pads. A truly awesome moment where humanity shone brighter than the tragedy.
Thank you Joel. What a time to be alive. Go Blue Forever.
This epitomizes Michigan’s season in this play!! Unity, brotherhood, strength, resilience. Congrats to the champs!!
I love this team
Well done!❤
GO BLUE!!
Well done sir, well done.
Great stuff, Joel. So powerful. You're my favorite, man.
Go Blue forever!
And now they are National Champions. Storybook stuff.
I was at the game. Even though I’m not a fan of either team, I still felt compelled to join in with the Michigan fans. You could hear literal pin drop when he went down, but the sportsmanship and the emotion from the crowd is what made it a special moment. As Klatt said, no music, no band, no PA announcer, no nothing. Just one community group rallying around their player.
Those that come to Michigan University will attend one the best universities in the country and be guided by one of the most talented coaching staff in college football.
when Michigan culture is at its peak the fans are locked in. we are one. unbreakable meeeeechigan. no one gets it outside of A2 and we don't care. nothing can top M culture when we are at the top. yall dont hurt your neck looking up the mountain at us. BET! LETS GO ZAK!
This is America's Team!
This was good stuff!
There’s always been magic in this stadium. Go blue
Michigan IS THE TEAM!!!
😢 Lets Go 65... prayers up. Chills
Its sucks to lose this kid..but Mich has depth. Next play after he went down...Mich busted off a TD run😊
Joel you're the man! Listening to you go over this heartbreaking moment, makes me emotional! I see why so many watch and listen to you! You're a great guy and tell it like it is! This Michigan team is something fierce, even with all the BS cheating/scandal talk. People can call Michigan cheaters all they want. But were still winning even though some cat got out of the bag, so teams had time to change these signs that michigan supposedly stole! Michigan is bringing the Natty title home this year!
We will win a national championship for him Go Blue 💙💛💙💛
I don’t even know who started it? It was so spontaneous. A few chants of Let’s Go blue almost instantly grew in to Let’s go Zak as he was leaving the field. Truly a great moment. When he held his hand up, I couldn’t believe to resolve he was showing after the injury we had just witnessed.
Let’s Go Zack !!! Love the Blue
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾go blue 〽️
An emotionally draining day. I don't want to go through another one like it again anytime soon.
P.S. - Shame on the director for cutting away for a commercial break. This was great build up & theater to a great game he or she missed out on. Shame, shame, shame. All for sponsor money.
Hard not to get emotional after that! As much as I can't stand OSU, thank you fellas for your prayers and well wishes as Zak was being carted off the field! Ryan Day also gets 2 Thumbs Up for running into the tunnel and personally wishing Zak Zinter well!
I think the fans powered Michigan to victory. We need to be loud and proud on Monday, and I sure as heck will be from my home! Go Blue! 〽️💛💙🌹🏆 Bet! SMASH!
Couldn't have been easy on Ohio State either. We are all human
Best scene in college football this season. Nothing like the Big House.
Man...Klatt cutting onions next to me
Michigan level of play went up immediately after Zak’s injury.
the thing about michigan that no other team has is that we play for each other. we don’t have super flashy players we have great players
No matter the outcome of the surgery, or the rehabilitation, and hopefully it's a full recovery and Zak goes on to a Hall of Fame NFL career, but if that isn't the result, he will always have a place on either the Michigan sideline or wherever Jim Harbaugh lands as an assistant coach. I have no doubt about that.
I see nobody mentioning Sherrone Moore consoling JT Tuimoloau who was visibly upset because he was the one who rolled on his leg, at not fault of his own. Then a few UM players shaking his hand. No mention of Ryan Day talking to Zinter's parents in the tunnel wishing him a speedy recovery either. Moments like that are what makes this rivalry so great like when Devin Gardener consoling JT Barrett when he got injured in THE game years back.
Go Blue!!!!
