The point is not to give the little guy a chance the point is to put the top teams from a season into a tournament and let the games determine the best team in the country. That’s the whole point. So if a “little guy” is the best team they’ll have to beat 4 teams to prove it. It’s not about giving more teams a chance, it’s about determining the best team. You know what I’m not hearing right now? I’m not hearing a single person complaining that their team should be in the national championship game. We have waited 100 years for that silence.
The Big 10 OWNED the SEC this year. 5-1 in the bowl games and/or playoffs. Michigan beat Alabama (for the 2nd straight year), Ohio St beat Texas and Tennessee, Illinois beat South Carolina, USC beat Texas A&M. Only Missouri could muster a 3 point win against Iowa. Priceless.

The Big Ten and Pac-12 made college football a tradition; the SEC made it a business. The entire conference should have championships and entire season stripped from them for the last 15 years, but the NCAA let it go on for so long they became complicit in the grift. Shameful.
I bet a lot of young Southerners who grew up in the SEC dominant era didn't realize how big football is up North. The stadiums are bigger, in big cities, rabid fans and big money - the past couple years must be a surprise.
As a die hard Buckeye fan and OSU Alumni. 1st and goal on the 1, why did Texas throw to their running backs out of the backfield. That was killing us. Go Bucks!
HE is a great QB. I hope he stays healthy. Both teams had a ton of speed. I like the hit them hard strategy as soon as the game starts. It's unexpected unless you do it every game. Buckeyes jumped up early with that strategy. Don't give them a chance to feel you out 1 on 1. Just execute fast. Then you can concentrate more on defense and wear them down.
It's actually insane how quick a narrative on a coach can turn from, "He can't win big games" to "Top coach and coaching staff in the country." Ryan Day was getting dragged after the Michigan loss. Now, he's playing for a championship. Maybe with the expanded playoff, OSU-Michigan doesn't carry near as much weight in the future.
Thank you for the comment about NIL in the SEC back in the day, The SEC people deny it but it was obvious they were doing it back then that’s why they were so dominate.
Tell BYU it doesn’t matter when you lose. Cause it certainly mattered for them. On the flip side if Notre Dame lost to NIU at the end of the year and not the beginning…they get booted as well. It 100% matters when you lose.
While it is improbable that an outsider team can navigate the gauntlet of the new playoffs, they were never even invited before so they had literally no chance before.
Ewers was not good at all, low pocket awareness, if it wasn’t a dump off to a running back his passes were very inaccurate. Texas had so many drops because the ball wasn’t where it needed to be
Ewers had no run game, his best two WR were banged up, his O-line gave him little time and he played the #1 defense and he almost pulled it out. The amount of Hate Ewers gets is disgusting. He's not perfect, he's not the best but the way he gets trashed by everyone, left and right is so corny.
The SEC schools all have money...but they are so used to recruiting being the ONLY thing that mattered that they haven't valued actual good coaching like Northern teams have. SEC is losing because they don't have a talent monopoly anymore and never had elite coaching (Saban was an elite defensive coach, but no an elite overall GameDay coach).
The SEC the last 2 years is NOT the SEC of pre-NIL. People were right to say you didn't want to play in the SEC back then bc they had a monopoly on the talent. NIL changed that and people just haven't talked about it. The SEC lost a TON OF PLAYERS in the first NIL year. This year was even worse. All these teams outside the SEC that Bama and Georgia demolished every year didn't just magically get better. NIL gave them better players and NIL took away hundreds of players in the portal. It surprises me that ESPN hasn't did a big show on it yet. When they do, it's mind blowing how many players left the SEC when NIL became a thing.
Colin, I am a ND fan and you picked OSU to beat them and usually I would be pissed that you did that but I'm giving you a pass on this one because you did say that ND does have a fighting chance to beat OSU! I have said this on other pod cast that this game will be a steam roller team vs. a beat up rag tag team but yet here (ND) they are bidding for a natty!
Tx should have just stuck with Manning in the beginning of the year.. Sarks loyalty to ewers throughout the season was unbelievably frustrating.. good game OSU and good luck to yall in the championship game
Colin what are you talking about? Texas was two yards away from tying the game. Just a stupid stupid take. I get it, you don't want to give Texas any real credit. You're talking about kids, why not show some respect. My God, what an ass!
So many games come down in the 4th quarter to which team can make a few positive critical plays and which team makes a fatal critical mistake or two. OSU made those positive plays tonight while Texas didn't.
Texas played better than anyone would have predicted but the combination of Sark (most at fault) and Ewers predictably blew it. Manning/a better coach wins that game or goes to OT at minimum.
This is where Colin is WRONG, the better team did not win. Take out the screen play and then look at the passing on both QBs. Ohio St was bailed out tonight at the play calls at the goal line, with the refs.
To me Texas proved they are the 2nd best team in the country. Ohio State will complete a historically dominant playoff run next week. And when they look back, they’ll remember the 2nd half against Texas was the only difficult stretch they had.
It felt like Texas was dominant in the second half and blew it with shit play calling in vital moments. I was listening on the radio, so it's just a different perspective I suppose. But, the Ewers experiment is over... good.

OSU vs Texas, watching Sark beg for that targeting was wild. 🤣😂
Notre Dame is a different kinda team, not flashy but they have a good oppurtunistic defense in a quiet sneaky way and seem to get a good run or nice pass play when you think they can't. They could very easily win the natty as Ohio ST was celebrating tonight like they just won the title.
First time listening to you. Good show! Great information and incite. Well done.

Priceless.
Even saw the lights of the Goodyear Blimp
And it read "Jack Sawyer is a Pimp"
Let’s go Bucks! Colin, treat my buckeyes right
Much respect to Texas. O-H!
I-O!
I-O …..Go Bucks! 🏈 Lima born, Columbus and Rocky River raised…Ohio thru and thru in our house. Live in MA now and at the grocery store today in Ohio St gear I hear OH from another random shopper. We r everywhere😀
Ist and goal on the 1., run up the middle, left tackle, right tackle gap, QB sneak, hurdles, tush push... If they can't get it done, it's on them. Coach over thought it.
I grew up looking @ CFB the same.. I am and will always be a B1G guy.. Love my Buckeyes and you are right, it's been fun watching the SEC shift because those small little college towns are fun to watch.. Nothing like the Traditions in the B1G and the Rivalries are better.
Give some credit to Texas dude if Texas scores there,it's tie up.,come on dude
Yeah but Sark didn’t want to win and put Manning in to tie it up. It amazes me that he’s getting NFL talk as a coach.
The best team in the SEC was Georgia
Ohio state will get after Riley Leonard in the title game but ND's defense is pretty solid also. 24-14 buckeyes
Lotta grabbing in the secondary, they can’t run with anybody
I think if Leonard tries to save the day with his feet he's gonna be in some serious pain.
My dad went to Penn State and I went to Texas. On top of that, I went to same high school as Ewers so emotions were invested all around. Needless to say, witnessing two coaching and QB meltdowns back to back nights has been horrid.
Meltdowns? They both faced really good teams with clearly good coaching staffs.
@@squigglyline2813 yes, qb's for the losing teams crumbled badly when it mattered most
@@squigglyline2813u must of gotten hyped after getting participation trophies 😂
I blame Allar for our loss. I blame Franklin and the university at PSU for not giving him the resources to get these top WRs
@@bradishler5967 Isn't it Franklin's job to coach the WR's that he has to be good as well?
I love Quinn Ewers and I love the Horns🤘🏾 two awesome years
Didn't cowherd love trey lance 😂😂😂
And hates on Brock Purdy 😂😂 he’s always pretty shitty on some of these takes lol
He's awful at evaluating QBs.
It's not alright alright alright, Matthew McConaughey help me 😂😂😂😂😂
I see you again 🫡
@@bradleyheater1775 Not a Ohio State fan. Joking around. Texas played hard. that fumble was the difference. Sark is a great coach. Nothing to be ashamed of
Buckeyes say "Alright alright alright... burnt orange got burnt tonight." SEC nowhere to be seen now. Texas fought hard, tho.
The Big Ten and Pac-12 made college football a tradition; the SEC made it a business. The entire conference should have championships and entire season stripped from them for the last 15 years, but the NCAA let it go on for so long they became complicit in the grift. Shameful.
The Big Ten led the grift with the ultra-expansion. That's Jim Delaney, man.
Colin: Clap for the BUCKEYES & URBAN MEYER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Time to give the keys to Arch 🔑🏈
“I think I’m pretty good at the quarterback thing, I didn’t like Zach Jones…” 😂😂
Texas still hasn’t beat a top ten team all year
Colin, your takes infuriate me but apparently you are a good human. You should be commended. Best wishes.
I bet a lot of young Southerners who grew up in the SEC dominant era didn't realize how big football is up North. The stadiums are bigger, in big cities, rabid fans and big money - the past couple years must be a surprise.
How fast was the upload!
Hell yeah Colin!
Colon sucks. His takes are garbage
Where did this Ryan Day come from? He’s never won a big game . Now all of the sudden he’s killing it …won 3 big games in a row
5-1 vs top 10 this year
As a die hard Buckeye fan and OSU Alumni. 1st and goal on the 1, why did Texas throw to their running backs out of the backfield. That was killing us. Go Bucks!
Notre dame spent more on their roster why is osu the only team that gets brought up?
Did they really?? Crazy the bias.
@@turnup3319 Both Oregon and Texas spent well over 20mil. Several mil more than O State in fact.
Why didn’t Sark call run play on the first and goal at 1yard line with Arch?
Go Bucks! 😤
When I was in high school, Archie Griffin was winning Heismans.
Did Uncle Colin really say Leonard= Josh Allen? 😂😂
Cmon Colin
Congrats to coach Sark, the new SEC coach James Franklin.
Daily Darnold mention
This narrative that OSU will be under more pressure is weak. They are playing as loose yet focused as anybody.
While it is improbable that an outsider team can navigate the gauntlet of the new playoffs, they were never even invited before so they had literally no chance before.
Sark made it hard on Ewers with that play calling.
I don't get the Ewers hate. He played great tonight other than one throw.... Sark outsmarted himself down on the goal line
It's not that Ewers is bad , it's the fact arch brings mobility & running & could of been the X factor
Ewer didn't play great. If he played great they would have tied the game at the end.
Ewers pocket presence is bad.
Like Colin said he’s not a game changer or makes guys better like that. He’s average and Sarks has to really make some great calls for him
The SEC schools all have money...but they are so used to recruiting being the ONLY thing that mattered that they haven't valued actual good coaching like Northern teams have. SEC is losing because they don't have a talent monopoly anymore and never had elite coaching (Saban was an elite defensive coach, but no an elite overall GameDay coach).
I'm a ryan day fan!! He will go down as one of the greatest Ohio state coaches of all time! Go bucks!!
Ryan, how did you have time to post this about yourself under this alias?😂
WHAT?!!! The SEC was paying players BEFORE the invent of NIL??? UNBELIEVABLE!
😯😯😯
‘I’m pretty good at the QB stuff’, ‘I don’t like Quinn Ewers’, ‘Drew Allar is ok’. Meanwhile Riley Leonard reminds you of Josh Allen 😂😂😂😂
That Texas QB is TERRIBLE and ALWAYS blows big games by giving the ball away!
Now is the time to show a little decency. Texas played a great game and they fell short. Let's be adults.
Colin what are you talking about? Texas was two yards away from tying the game. Just a stupid stupid take.
I get it, you don't want to give Texas any real credit. You're talking about kids, why not show some respect.
My God, what an ass!
Appreciate that. Good job Texas. It was a good game.
Does Sark have a designated driver?
So many games come down in the 4th quarter to which team can make a few positive critical plays and which team makes a fatal critical mistake or two. OSU made those positive plays tonight while Texas didn't.
Texas played better than anyone would have predicted but the combination of Sark (most at fault) and Ewers predictably blew it. Manning/a better coach wins that game or goes to OT at minimum.
B1G 5, SEC 1…
Sark and his Qb went out together bad as they should
With Howard and Ewers for quarterbacks, there’s no way Ohio State could lose! 🏈
What?
ND 28 OSU 24
Before the season started if you said the NC would be the 7 seed vs the 8 seed, no one would have believed it.
Bruh, they woulda laughed you outta wherever you were when you made the statement!!!
Just think if ASU was still in. The SEC ain't it anymore, props to Ohio State
Get out of here. You get beat by 30.
@@MrRjsnowden bot reply
This is where Colin is WRONG, the better team did not win. Take out the screen play and then look at the passing on both QBs. Ohio St was bailed out tonight at the play calls at the goal line, with the refs.
Notre dame spent just as much as Ohio State
Uncle Colin's been in the sauce again, tonight.
Leave Uncle Cocktails alone
@@vivahernando1 brilliant :-)
For Ohio State the game was becoming like Michigan part 2 until Sawyer saved the day. Not a fan of the ACC refs. Bring on the Irish ☘️ Tom 🏈
Lol Jesus
If it was still a 4 team playoff, it would've been B10 vs B10/SEC vs SEC in the Semies, and B10 vs SEC in the Finals.
Texas proved they are elite and shut everyone up! What a year and a great game, hats off to them!
Texas would be 3rd in the B1G 10 behind OSU and Oregon.
Sorry but no. Texas best win? Sark and Texas is soft. Improving but not there yet.
Respect to the Horns. They fought like I thought they would and showed pride. But Go Bucks!!
"Shut everyone up" bro they've been overrated all year o state kept them in the game
To me Texas proved they are the 2nd best team in the country. Ohio State will complete a historically dominant playoff run next week. And when they look back, they’ll remember the 2nd half against Texas was the only difficult stretch they had.
NOTRE D SPENT THE SAME MONEY GET FACTS STRAIGHT
Weeks ago Ryan Day was on the gallows with the trap door about to be triggered.
It felt like Texas was dominant in the second half and blew it with shit play calling in vital moments. I was listening on the radio, so it's just a different perspective I suppose. But, the Ewers experiment is over... good.
Ohio state won the 1st and 4th quarter, Texas won the 2nd and 3rd
If Ohio State didn’t have half the self induced penalties, Texas loses by 3-4 touchdowns.
You forgot to mention Nebraska and Osborne. Also watch out for Minnesota, they gotta a lot of Fortune 500 companies in Minneapolis. They would never break ncaa rules.
WHY DOES EVERYONE SCAPEGOAT OHIO STATE WITH NIL MONEY WHEN TEXAS AND OREGON SPENT MORE
1988 notre dame is my favorite all time team
Im sorry but i completely disagree with you regarding howard. These last three games, Will Howard has thrown dots. Under pressure. Under the lights. He's that guy
ND can beat Ohio State. 3rd down conversions. Control the ball. ND coaches are tops.
