Thanks a lot for posting and doing this! Picking up this truck in a few days to replace my 2021 Tacoma TRD Off Road. I’ve been shopping this market recently and it’s the only good and capable truck that’s not outrageously priced and with a decent lease (relatively speaking). Never owned a Nissan before but this truck was much nicer in person both inside and out than we expected. The cabin and seats feels great. Lots of amenities, features and tech. Looking forward to it. Will be using it for getting the dirt bike to the motocross track, mountain bikes, snow, spring tore up roads, and the occasional trip to the ORV park but less hardcore than what you were just doing. I do wish the stance was a little higher but the good trade off is that it’ll be easier to reach in to the bed and easier to get my dirt bike loaded.
I agree with many regarding this vehicle. For the money its the "cheapest" well equipped midsize. Its capable and does what a midsize pickup is suppose to do. 2 to 3 inch lift, larger AT tires would do wonders.
I put a 2” lift and Z1 UCAs on my 22 P4X and a set of the Mickey Thompson Baja Boses and it looks and rides great while giving me the needed added ground clearance.
I have 2023 Pro 4x and love it! I actually really like the steering. Perfect machine for hunting. Going to put the NISMO 1.5 inch level kit on it mainly just because I like the subtle change to the stance. The extra clearance front and back is a plus!
Nice. Have you heard the Nismo lift kit will hit the OEM upper control arm? You can search for it on RUclips. I actually wanna get the lift kit as well.
Thanks. That was my main concern. I don't plan on doing any crazy off roading but the occasional pot hole and dirt road. Mainly for the look of my new truck@@JL-xn3zy
Will go as well or better than 99% of truck buyers will need off road, as far as smoothness its second to none. Bought a 23 Pro4X over Tacoma off-road on road driving feel was far smoother. Love the old school hydraulic steering.
@@BrosFOURRSpeedcan’t go wrong with a Tacoma, my brother bought a 2021 Taco TRD off road. Bulletproof. It’s a personal thing I find the PRO4X rides smoother on road. But I think it’s the Bilstiens. The Frontier SV is a bit jittery on road too.
I like that Nissan gives the tech out of the box without being as expensive as the tacoma. It allows you to lift the truck and come in cheaper than a TRD pro with the stock 2" lift
With a 2 or 3" lift I think it would be better than the Colorado trail boss or z71 and almost as good as a taco off road. The frontier has a locking rear which is so much better than the g80 in the colorado. It also has ABLS (active brake limited slip) which is like toyota's ATRAC that kinda simulates a front locker. On the 4runner you have to push a button for it. On the frontier, it comes on automatically in 4wd and more aggressively in 4lo. Frontier also has a fully boxed frame and a beefy DANA44 rear end.
Love my 23' Pro4x. add a small lift and tires and you're done. A rear locker importance can not be over emphasized, and the truck is pretty simple compared to much of the competition. I bet that Colorado will have issues 5 years into ownership. also, $40k
The new Tacoma and Colorado have nothing on this in terms of reliability and simplicity to work on. Plus the NA v6 may be less powerful but makes up for it in smoothness.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed A turbocharged engine just doesn't have the same linearity of power build up as an NA one. I hope you have good luck with your Tacoma. Toyota has seriously dropped the ball on quality control with the new turbocharged powertrains AND body panel assembly.
@@azfersaeed1602 sure it reacts differently, doesn’t make it bad. Way more power and much smoother. Have you driven one or just saying that? I’d disagree with the last part.

@@azfersaeed1602 yeah, they certainly are making a bigger deal. There’s videos talking about how small the recall actually is. But I enjoyed driving much more than my 3rd gen V6.
Considering that the Tacoma TRD pro costs $10k more thank this, a $5k suspension will out perform the TRD stuff, and the Nissan would still be less expensive. More power, better transmission, and other wise basically the same truck
I guess we'll have to see how the TRD Pro is off road and what it costs. But this will be more in line with the TRD Sport Tacoma. Which could cost the same and be more capable.
It's the best truck in the market , Aftermarket lifkit are way cheaper and it doesn't need more power it's completely capable and powerful for off-road it's not a sports car or a heavy towing truck it's not made for that
The Nissan Pro4X is cheaper than the Chevy and especially the Toyota. Let us know where we can get a TRD Pro for the same price as the Nissan and I'll go there to buy one. Also the Nissan has hydraulic power steering and the big benefit of that is you have more feedback(feel) than with eletronic systems. Agree about the need for a small lift kit(or leveling) plus a little size tires but overall I feel this is a great truck.
MSRP for a 23 PRO4-x is $47,960 and a TRD Pro is $48,035, so basically the same price lol. I'd buy the Toyota all day over the Nissan which is what I did!
Good luck getting a Toyota at MSRP where I live, dealer markup is pretty high so if prices were the same I agree about getting the Tacoma. Especially since the used cars prices here are very high, even for older ones.
@@Palps93 i wouldn’t say that. I’ve owned two Tacomas and it feels like a truck to me! It’s not the only one going to a 4 cylinder. But the hybrid pumps out some high numbers! I’ll be buying one this year!

Hard to when we can't stray off the path. Colorado Z71 did these same lines without scraping. So ground clearance is limited in the Frontier comparing it to the competition. Needs a lift kit
I would have liked to see just 4lo where the front was spinning to see the abls work. If working properly with even acceleration with no brake in 4lo it should make that. I don't know if turning makes a difference it shouldn't.
I need to watch the Colorado video still but I gotta say I’m surprised it did better. I had three Silverados with that garbage auto locker and they never lock reliably. I don’t get why GM can’t offer an e-locker when literally everyone else does. I don’t think it would steal sales from the ZR2.
For a $44k truck, it should come with a 2 inch lift with 33x11 tires. My dad paid $24k for his 2012 SV Frontier and I paid $30.5k for my 2017 SV Titan…inflation is a real B!T€H.
