Could someone please tell me why so many plus size clothes have horizontal stripes? Do the designers hate heavier women?
Hi Carol, I don't think they have it out for us. I just don't think the designers always know what is best. That's why I'm here to tell you what to look for and what to avoid. 😍
Horizontal stripes are EVIL😮
I’ve always wondered the same thing. Seems idiotic.
Yes they seem to hate us.
Exactly!!
Such great advice. Thank you! ❤️
My pleasure - I'm so glad you enjoyed it! 😍
Amazing tips......amazing video
I'm so glad you enjoyed the tips, Cindy! 🤩
Good tips. The only thing I disagree with is cap sleeves! My arms are big and that makes them look giant.😂
great information Thank you . Really enjoyed
Thank you so much, Jane! Glad you enjoyed it! 🥰
Good advice. Just wonder why all the models showing what to wear are WAY under 50 years old. They of course, look better in everything.
One thing I don’t own is white knit tops. They make me look bigger. I am busty and dress the girls carefully.
After dying my hair for years, I am 76. I have decided to go grey . You look lovely.
I Lv Armani who puts large gorgeous jewelry on his clothing. Jewelry is an art form to be enjoyed. Bored by the dainty jewelry trend.
I am a jewelry designer. I generally agree with round neck lines, however a great necklace on a round collar can offset it making
Very helpful video, thank you!
How about those of us with the belly AND the double wide ever sliding down to the knees bottom???? How do you put lipstick on this mess?
I just hate the word " belly" it just turned me off the video which would be good.
She spends way too much time talking in the beginning…. Bored by the time she starts.
Would you ever consider doing a video about your weight loss? Would love to know your tips!
Yes, Janie. I'll keep you posted! 😀
Keto. No sugar
All good tips except for the cap sleeves and the tunics due to two things. 1. Cap sleeves if your upper arms have cellulite, which you can have even if you're skinny. 2. Tunics if you are short as I am make you look dumpy and doesn't elongate your legs. Thanks for your videos.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this, Stalean! 🤩
Also our elbows really become uglier & uglier as we age. I war at least elbow length sleeves - & I’m thin & lift weights.
I took fashion design in college and we were taught never to wear horizontal stripes, what amazes me is how many sweaters and t-shirts and dresses are sold like this.
That is so true, and horizontally striped sweaters are trending this year! 🤣
In the cover thumbnail. The pictureof the two women are completely different weights. yes the green check woan does look thinner.. because she is thinner.
Hi Frankie, it's me in both photos! I did lose weight from one photo to the other but in the video, I talk about many of the mistakes I made and show how to correct them. 😉
Would you please show older women in your examples. Even maybe some plus size women.
I will look for older women and plus-size women for my videos - thanks for your feedback! 🥰
Try eating smaller portions or skip a meal or better yet ‘eat to live’ not ‘live to eat’! Americans are Over Weight‼️‼️‼️
Love the color of blouse. So bright and cheery
Thanks, Kathleen! 😍
oh my yes, I'm so glad people are wearing less black-yuk
What did you do to lose 60lbs? Please do a video 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Check Dr. Berg’s videos. Skip all carbs and make intermitten fasting.
Such good tips. I’ve gained weight ALL OVER. Need to draw attention away from every part of me. I wear only yuk tshirts and stretch capris. I hate everything I put on from my bra out. But-- I am going to try these tips and see if they can make me feel a little better about myself. Thank you! Going to watch more of your videos now. Oh and I love the Make Over Guy.
Kelli, Now I have a job for you. For the next week, I want you to look in the mirror every morning, tell that girl looking back at you that you love her and you appreciate all the things she has gotten you through. Then put on an outfit with at least one thing you like (it could be even lipstick or earrings), do your hair, smile at her, and tell her to have a great day. Let me know how it goes at the end of the week. 🥰*Hugs*
@@shoppingonchampagne I just saw this. Two weeks late. Thank you. I’ll try.
Nancy you were meant to do this! I really enjoy watching your videos. All good advice and the inserts of you highlighting a point or a funny clip exaggerating a point are spot on. I use all of these tips to hide my tummy. I carry my extra weight in my tummy. I've been looking for more v-neck t-shirts but it's not always easy to find them. For some reason most manufacturers make crew neck instead.
I went shopping with this video "in my head". I was choosing between two tops, both with a V neck and 3/4 sleeves. One was a gorgeous solid blue color, waffle fabric, with puffy sleeves. The other had "monotone" pastel vertical stripes, and "straight" sleeves. I really wanted the blue top because the color and fabric were beautiful. But, in my head, you said "no - those puffy sleeves are NOT your friend". The stripey top with the narrower sleeves was MUCH more flattering. And so - thank you!! I think that you saved me from another mistake!
Love your pink blouse. I need one NOW! It is gorgeous.
I enjoyed your video, but I have three thoughts that you might appreciate: 1. I would’ve enjoyed it more if the models were more the age of the audience you’re addressing 2. I never met a woman in this age group who is concerned about her belly but not about her arms so while your comment on cap sleeves may be correct for overall slimness, cap sleeves reveal arm issues in a manner that most women this age would like to avoid and therefore are a solid no-no. 3. It would be great if you showed both versions of your suggestions, such as the same outfit with calf capris versus ankle skinny pants.
I am 5’4 120 lbs. Yesterday I took all of my sleeveless and cap sleeve clothes to consignment. The arms are a problem for just about all of us eventually!
Love that pink shirt.
Thanks so much, Yolanda! Here's a link to it: rstyle.me/+WXGaECP1adt-oqkSnURw4g
I'm sorry to put this so bluntly ... v-necks do not always look good on everyone. They look like crap on me. I think you should wear an 'open' neckline but that does not always mean a v-neck. Stylists everywhere ... please quit telling people this.
Some of these tips apply to wanting to look taller as well. A petite 5'1" hourglass, I find a v-neck is my best friend, as is cuff rolling, and pant lengths no shorter than my ankle. Videos like this are immensely helpful. Thank you Nancy.
Hi Wendy, I'm so glad you found the video helpful.🥰
I am 5'3". I love ankle pants. A tall friend once spoke a great truth: a tall person with short pants and a short person with long pants both look like they bought the wrong size.
I totally agree about V-necks; but as a 5’1” petite, I find tunic tops and longer jackets and sweaters make it look like I have no legs. I tend to front tuck or side tuck most longer tops to show that I do actually have legs. I am pretty much alone in thinking cropped pants are not flattering on anyone, but I love ankle pants. Because of the little slit at the outside of most ankle pants, I can’t easily alter them; but I find that if I buy cropped pants in a regular size they fit me perfectly as an ankle pant. So..hoping you taller girls keep liking your crops.❤
@shogo8995 Capris help NOBODY they chop you off I'm 4'10
Message for clothing manufacturers: as a group women are aging (duh). PLEASE consider making more dresses and tops with elbow sleeves. Short or sleeveless shows off what is for many our second big problem area, our upper arms. An elbow sleeve is so complimentary and comfortable, I'm always on the lookout for them.
and I love ponte pants, the fabric is thick enough to avoid camel toe, UCK, and still be comfy and slimming.
I like 3/4 sleeves.
@@americafirst9144 Agree. Now that summer is winding down I realize I've mostly avoided my sleeveless shirts in favor of a short sleeve or lightweight 3/4. I just feel more attractive without my turkey wing and jiggly parts on display, especially when I raise my arms. Ugh. Oh gravity, though art a cruel mistress!!
If you're battling to figure out the contrast level in the prints, take a photo of it, then apply a black-and-white filter to it... and the results speak for themselves
OMGOSH!! THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!! I am 66, retired my critical care RN job, of 38 years, 6 years ago. From fast-paced on my feet all day, to VERY slower paced and relaxed. MY BELLY!! Over the last 3 yrs, no weight change, BODY MORPH! I live in the Mrs and will be moving to SC. HOT! SWEATY!! Wardrobe is NIXED. As I set out to either buy new or alter the old, YOU GAVE ME THE BEST ADVICE!! MAY GOD RICHLY BLESS YOU!!
Hi Capall, I'm so glad you found the video helpful. Best wishes on your big move - enjoy SC! 🥰
Thank you so much for these helpful tips! I love your videos! I looked at some pictures I took over the weekend and I absolutely hated them because what I wore added so many pounds! I wore everything you suggested not to wear! I was horrified, but now I know what to change.
Loving you're hair😍😍😍😍
Cindy, THANK YOU! 🥰
Would like to see appropriately sized models making your points.
Im 5:3 and its hard to find clothes that don’t make me look fat
Totally agree with the comfortable shoes! No more Spikey high heels...Cute, but comfort!
Learning to love and care for myself is 🔑. Only took me 54 years to get it.
Hi Nikki, I'm so proud of you for taking the tip to care for yourself. Hugs 🥰
Congratulations on your weight loss! I know the struggle! Stay strong and positive!
Can you do a video on colors for different skin tones (example cool/warm).
That's a great idea, Kimberly! I'm adding it to my video to-do list! 😍
Thank you for your "Nancy rant" on body positivity, you are so positive and reassuring, THANK YOU! We can all be happy AND healthy in what ever body you're in!
Thanks so much, Geri! I'm glad you enjoyed it! 🤩
I agreed and disagreed some of the comments or suggestions because not everybody have the same body shape or height or even skin colour. Most necklines and prints will still look nice on most people.
The video definitely have some good points but might not be necessary for all..👍
5'2" belly AND hips and thighs, what do I do?
Can you please tell me where to buy that great pink blouse?
If you do where a round neck, try a lariat necklace or large pendant necklace to create a v-neck. Longer necklaces will be slimming as well
Tunic tops with a thin belt can look great. If the belt has a hanging piece it can be an opticle illusion and bring your eye down.
Same most of your models are young and slim
I only wear vnecks. A few years now. Took me a little to switch all over. I do feel like I’m choking in reg necklines but I know vneck helps so much. Love that “round equals pounds “
Btw love your hair and glasses.
You have a lovely clear voice. Thank you for posting.
Thank you so much! Is there a style topic you'd like me to cover?
I lost 40 pounds recently by divorcing alcoholic
Great video. I'm a pear shape and the tip that doesn't work for me is the draping cardigan because they emphasize the hips. Crop or longer is better for me.
I agree. They usually stick to the derriere if you are pear shaped. If you already have open front cardigans, try shoulder pads to make them hang better.
Makeover Guy works miracles and is addictive 😀
Oh, let's face it. We all just want to tousel his great hair.
Excellent tips !! Thank you for doing this video.
Ankle length pants add pounds. They look like you have outgrown them. Straight leg (not tapered‼️) capris can be shortened to just below the knee. Capris look bad because they focus on the hips and thighs. They are a good choice because manufacturers often don't offer true Bermuda shorts.
Thanks for your tips! 🥰
Thank you. You know? I am a man and it's very difficult to reduce belly fat. Even if you exercise? You can reduce it but have loose skin. Sometimes I think it's better when you're in school in P.E. at least you don't get as big. I really don't want liposuction surgery.
Hi Paul, Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Reducing belly fat and dealing with loose skin can indeed be challenging, and it's a concern many face regardless of gender. You're right that consistent physical activity, like what we often have in school, can make a big difference. It's understandable to have reservations about something as significant as liposuction surgery. Sometimes, finding a balanced approach to exercise and nutrition that works for your lifestyle is key. Each journey is unique, and it's important to do what feels right and healthy for you. Keep focusing on your well-being, and remember, the most important thing is how you feel inside and out. 🤩
Wow! So impressed about your weight loss success! Makes me like you even more! Yay you
Thank you so much, Lynda! 🥰
Cap sleeves??? But my arms are awful!
I'm enjoying your videos so much. Just found you a couple days ago, but I have to say all of your added in GIFS are a bit obnoxious. Too much!!! You do not need them
Hi Melissa, I'm so glad you discovered me and thank you for your kind words! Thanks for your feedback on the GIFs; fortunately, we don't use them in every video. 😀
Excellent video! Didn't know about the print problem, but now I do. And I am going to try the cap sleeve and try to find it in a V-neck. I'm also going to look of the Makeover Guy and his mom. Thanks for a really helpful video.
cap sleeve is ok if you have firm arms .other wise 3/4 sleeve is better .I alwas cut my long sleeves .
Please consider leaving the example photos on the screen longer (those of you and the fashion photos). You can narrate, and we can have more time to take in the information provided. Thank you.
Thank you Nancy. I’m going to send to my family member, sharing.
Menopause belly bloat and lbs only five foot one
What was the guy you said to watch that does women's makeovers? Thought there might be a link.

Enjoy your videos, just curious, do you work for Lily Pulitzer?
Hi Miranda, yes I do work a few hours a week a Lilly Pulitzer but I am not paid by them to discuss the brand or their clothes. My love for this brand was a big motivator in my weight loss journey. I'll be discussing it more in an upcoming video!
Great content Nancy and love your silly video inserts that make me chuckle. Would enjoy hearing more about your weight loss too. You look great! 🤩
Hi Diane, I'm glad you are enjoying the silly inserts (I'll keep adding them!). I'll be doing a video about my weight loss in the near future 😍
Hi !! How can I get that ruffle blouse u were wearing ?? I love ur content !!

Great video and so many wonderful tips! Would love a bra recommendation. I've tried so many trying to get support and comfort. 🥰
Great suggestion, Molly! I'll add it to my video list! 😀
@@shoppingonchampagne.....thanks so much!
For those of us really overweight and busty, bras are difficult to find and fit. Plus comfort is an issue - I can’t wait to take of my bra or cami as soon as I get home. Please help with a video! Your advice is so spot on, and I love the colors you wear. Thanks for all the good advice!😊
Get a professionally fitted pro. Life changing!
Are those live orchids behind you? They are so beautiful!!
Yes, Darlene, they are real orchids in this video! 🤩
I Lv prints. Good examples on pretty prints. I am 5ft 10 inches so I can do bolder prints. Anna WINTOR Lvs color and wears prints well. Tk u
why are all models 20 years old?
Thanks Nancy. I love all these tips. Would you consider a video with tips to make short waisted short legged petite person look longer? How about a video about your weight loss journey? 🙂
Hi Erica, Adding petite video to my to do list! 🤩
@@shoppingonchampagneyes, petite and big busted!
Hello I was very pleased with your advice. I surprised to see a lot of you clothes I already have. My questions & problems are ….. #1 I am
Only 5’ tall yes (very tall). I have many many tunic tops but it seems they are very long to me. Is there a length that I should be wearing?
I look for collared tops/shirts hard for me to find. But I love high collars and I see the V neck which I will add more to my wardrobe. You I understand you tell your story excellent a way we can understand. So if you can help me find what to do to look taller. Not much taller im happy with myself but need some help. I am a young dresser not ashamed of it either. I am often mistaken for mid 50’s 😀 but I have 75 yrs on my side, and I’m not changing for anyone lol. My profile pic I was 73 1/2 years old. Can you help me.
Someone once told me, short top/long skirt or pants. Long top.. shorter pants.. capri. Great tips. Love Lily..
Hi Jill, I like your tips! I've always recommended a modified version of that. If you have long and loose on the top, go skinny on the bottom. You can wear a capri, just don't let it end at the widest part of your calf...go with something a few inches longer. If you have loose and flowy pants or skirt, pair it with a fitted top. 😍
I find when buying clothes it’s very hard bc I’m 5’11. Everything seems to be cut for average size women or short women. Pants are too short tops are too short and cut me. I’m very long wasted. What do you recommend?
Belly. Babies. Age. Joints. Have to exercise, though. Caregiver up to 2 years ago. Me now 62(?) Self-love ❤
Your haircut is MUCH BETTER!
Thank you so much, Jo Leslie! 🥰
Ive always liked a classic Oxford shirt, but for women they always make the bottom cut straight accross, as opposed to tails on the shirt like the men’s style. So i wear men’s shirts and i get compliments❤
How did you lose your weight please, I’ve gained so much through menopause 😢
Hi Christine, OMG, I completely understand, and I'll be covering that a lot this coming year! 🥰
And don't wear pink. Its beautiful on a flower but doesn't suit most people's coloring. Or maybe just not mine!
Oh boy! I thought I knew all the tips for drawing attention away from my tummy area, but I've been totally missing the one about rolled sleeve length. Thanks. That one tip is going to be a game changer for me.
Fashion magic! I'm so glad you found it helpful, Darla! 😍
I love your videos! They are down to earth and so helpful.
Son of a biscuit eater! She's right on the round neck thing & I never knew it sooner.... dang.
please- no underwire- they can contribute to breast issues & please not"BOOB" boobs are birds call them correct word did like the program
Try and find V neck shirts!!!! I agree but so many are boat necked with cap sleeves 😢
🙏Please tell me hindi sister
Excellent advice, presentation and inspiration! Thank you!
Oh this was so helpful and explains why I’m not getting the effects I’m aiming for. Thank you!
Hi Amma, I'm thrilled to hear you found it helpful. Let me know if you have any questions you'd like me to answer! 😀
Some excellent points but absolutely NO to sweaters with volume around the hips. So old lady and flattering to no one.
Tips are fine, but demonstrations are all on models, thin tall ones at that. This would’ve been more helpful to see actual plus sized women demonstrating
I absolutely love the colours you wear !
I love all of your tips & tricks . I found you by looking for the wedding clothes . Love your beautiful orchids in the background. Blessings to you .
I'm so glad you discovered me! Thanks for your kind words, and let me know if there's a topic you'd like me to cover. 🥰
Thanks for decorating - feel better all! Emily is being white lighted!
Ive noticed that skirts are not as popular as jeans but thats all i wear. Should i wear shirts tucked in or out im a plus size 80 year old
The V-neck with a very long neck makes the neck look longer. Any suggestions there?
