    I had to get the clutch & DMF on my Mk4 Mondeo 1.6 tdci replaced along with a broken driveshaft. Had to get recovered by the RAC as I had lost all drive. The car drives so much better now.
    I really enjoy your Mondeo mk4 & mk5 videos they are so informative & interesting.

    I had a secondhand galaxy a few years back which ended up driving like a bag of nails. Hadn’t heard of DMFs at the time. The clutch started slipping at about 100K miles and I had it replaced with a new DMF as well. Couldn’t believe the difference, it drove like a new car after that. As you said though costly for a clutch replacement. Thanks for the videos, always watch them when you post.

At the moment I got a resonation for a second or two when accelarting in 3rd gear or higher when the engine is running less than 2200 rpm. Above 2200 rpm I don't have resonation/vibration. Could this be the DMF? When engine is running idle there is no vibration..

No faults codes. I have already replaced all engine suspension cushions (3 pcs), I've changed the PCM software. Nothing helps. The engine runs perfectly when regenerating the DPF filter (like petrol engine), there are no vibrations. Have you had a similar case? Please give me some advice :)

    Hey Alan, love your content! Just wondering if you've ever ran into this problem with all your experience with MK4 mondeos. I have one that is leaking water in somewhere from the rear end, and can't figure out anywhere its from, nor could my mechanic without a full strip down. It's ending up in the spare tire well in the boot, and soaking the carpet on the passenger rear footwell. I have tried to find it so many times, and can't locate anywhere it might be leaking from. Any possible ideas you've seen in your years with these cars?

    • @pauledwards7553
      @pauledwards7553 2 года назад +1

      There is a known issue with the Focus where the water gets into a void under the boot and sloshes up into the boot when you brake. The water gets in through the air vents that are behind the bumper. You just silicone seal them up. If its the same design on the Mondeo there is a rubber bung on each side about 6 inches behind the back wheel that will release all the water.

      @@DoubtingThomas333 Those DSGs came from the factory with problems. The only two cars that Ford cursed us with were the Focus and Fiesta. I'd personally never buy a car with that god awful transmission. I've known too many people have endless problems from 30K upward. It sucks because the Focus was a otherwise good car, but that DSG ruined it, and Americans don't like stick shifts.
      I don't see Ford being stupid enough to put it in any other car for the USA market now.
      They were really bad here because everyone drove them like a normal automatic making clutch wear even worse. I've heard roomers of people having good luck with them if they drive them like a manual (Not creeping at low speeds), keep up with fluid changes, and re flash the PCM, but that's still a huge no from me. Watched that transmission mechanically total too many nice low mileage cars.
