    • @chrstphrr
      @chrstphrr 3 года назад

      @@marcelveli I hope you had explored replacement of the DMF on your tranmission. It could hold for months or years... but it may fail without warning, with bad consequences to removing the flywheel, or worse, cause a failure inside the transmission or engine. I had a failing manual DMF cause the transmission to fail on my first mk4 TDI, when I was naive and ignorant of the consequences. Had a later one with the rattling DMF that I ignored for 50k km (still naive, was told it had a rattle prone single mass flywheel installed by the seller). That one was difficult to remove because that dual-mass flywheel failed twisted, and took extra hours to remove the 6 bolts that secure it to the crankshaft. Best to get the flywheel and clutch replaced as a unit, and the other repair parts "while you are in there". It's costly in time, and adequate tools to support the engine / provide access to remove the transmission, whether you do it with an extra pair of hands, or if you have a trusted mechanic do the work.

      @glyflex 4 года назад +1

      @@leonardocapriodi1130 the noise went away and didn't return while i had the car. I think the dual mass fly wheel is made of two discs of metal laid over the top of each other with springs attaching one to the other. Over time the springs and their seats ware and this creates that sort of chatter/rattle. by bringing up the RPM the engine runs smoother putting a continuos load through the plates/springs removing the noise. I might be wrong but it has worked for me.

    I have that nose in cold mornings, but after warm up, it disappears...
    Could this problem with dmfw also effect the work of my transmission,?
    Because I get some sort of vibrations on low rpm when increasing speed from 1st to 2nd , from 2nd to 3rd gear. And that happens only when the gearbox gets fully warmed... SOUNDS STRANGE when cold there is noise but when it gets warm 95 degrees c transmission starts to act wierdly ... there are no those symptoms when it is cold....

      On manual transmissions I have done many solid flywheel conversions, the DMF serves it's purpose well but in all those cases the cost was just too much for the customer in comparison to solid.
      These DSG's have to be DMF though with the design, solid options are not applicable in repair.

    I have a rattling sound only steering to left and the oil pressure engine off light comes up. Plus if i go for quick high rev speed up - i get a yellow notification of engine speed max 4000 rpm with a yellow epc light.

    I am experiencing a loud grinding noise in drive right until about 55 km/hr. I've also developed a water pump leak. Quick guess, would you think it's two separate issues or 1 solely related to failing water pump?

    Had a 2006 A4 Audi, I think it was a B6 engine, which had exactly the same noise but it was intermittent, every time I'd take it to Audi it wouldn't make the noise, so they were absolutely no help, it then started to burn a lot of oil and found out these engines are prone to the oil pump failing, so ended up getting rid of the car and never to buy an Audi again, worst aftercare of any manufacturer.

    Great video. Question: Were there also any symptoms on the cutch pedal, or did noises changed when pressed? I have a 1.6 TDI Ibiza that is starting to make a little noise/rattling (not as bad as this) that comes up when pressing the clutch pedal (which kicks back sometimes or feels like it's stuck other times) or when crossing a bump on the road. I believe it is due to the dual mass and possibly it will evolve to this. Hope I'm wrong

      Same issue with my seat Ibiza specially in bumps. Did you solve it yet?

    • @AntonioP0ntes
      @AntonioP0ntes 2 года назад

      @@josem3651 Exactly. Not yet, no. Mechanics said it might be a worn out engine mount and is not worth to open the transmission yet, in case it is the flywheel, because the car has no power loss and the noise not intense nor constant. Their advise was to pay attention on the noise evolution only
