Messing around with my pet load. Seeing if two coats of harbor freight black powder paint will suffice for exclusion of a gas check. Will do more testing.
Yes I have gotten 175 smk (what I had laying around in a spare box) to barely work but they are not as cheap as me casting bullets. I am tempted to try 260 grain jacketed to make a sub sonic match load for precision longish shots. Idk tbh I'm just futzing around to find out. For now I'm trying to be cheap and affordable.
Have you tried subsonic loads with jacketed bullets?
