    And there was a "mangaka" aka scammer on the same Jump Rookie, who was bragging that his "manga" was in the TOP10 though it was an AI manga. His manga didn't win a prize, but these manga shouldn't be allowed on any of these plateforms. AI manga is pirated manga.

  • @berserkknightdeadoralive702
    @berserkknightdeadoralive702 2 месяца назад +80

    Completely agree with Araki-sensei on this. Even if you can make good looking art with AI, I think it's not worth depending on it if you seriously want to become an artist. Doesn't matter how advance the AI becomes, is never gonna give you the same satisfaction than an artwork made with your passion and dedication, and the experience you get by learning to make art step by step, year after year
    And also, if anyone, absolutely anyone, can make a piece of the same level as Araki-sensei's, for example, with AI, makes the idea of becoming an artist pointless for everyone. Since, companies wouldn't need to hire anyone to produce mangas or official artworks for their products anymore
    Art, and the joy that comes with making art, would cease to exist. So, even if it's a fun experiment, and there are times when I enjoyed watching some AI artworks... At the end of the day, I think is best to keep AI separated from art in general, and use it instead for other things that could be more benefitial in the long run
    Now, you have people like PewDiePie himself, who despite starting to draw and practice at an older age that most artists do, he was able to improve his skill to such level, that is hard to believe that he just started a bit longer than a year ago. And it's not because of his wealth, lifestyle or fame that he achieved this; he did it because he wasn't trying to find the easy, or quickest way out, rather, he took his time to learn properly without taking any shortcuts
    I'll give you this: perhaps is because he only focused on enjoying the process of learning, without caring about a career, profit, or attention on social media, that he could put all his efforts into making every stroke, every line, every shape count. And little by little, he got an impressive result, that only went even more impressive, as he took that 365 days challenge
    What I'm saying is, when comes to art, in any form, including things like music, there are not shortcuts, there are not cheat codes or tools to become a good artist faster; much less to become one of the few who achieve fame and make a living out of it. And natural potential can only get you so far, if you don't make the sacrifice necessary to get better each day, step by step, and eventually develop your talent
    So my conclusion is: the use of AI should be limited to other things outside of a creative field, being game developing perhaps the only exception I can think of. And seriously, at the end of the day, is far more rewarding making your career as artist using your own talent, rather than letting a computer program doing it for you. It just cheapens the joy of it, to such a degree, that being an artist wouldn't be a dream, but rather a nightmare; specially if you later have to deal with things like imposter syndrome
    Taking the easy way out may feel like a blessing, but sooner or later, will turn into a curse that you may never get rid off. At least, y'know? If you're as passionate about art as I am

    Regulations ALWAYS makes things worse.
    That said, AI is not consistent enough to create a full manga page, much less so an entire series. We are nowhere near the point of using only AI to illustrate (or write for that matter) something that's not a one-off.
    Also, identifying AI art is not that hard most of the time. They always feel kinda samey, without respecting any rule of composition or colour theory.

    For digital work is going to be harder to verify if that work has been made by a human there’s still some way to verify it’s been made by a human but not sure how long that will last. Unless you do the work in real life first.
    And for regulation, that will be a great issue. Companies will maybe fight for certain things of the regulation government. On the other hand, maybe will jump in because they had a hard time verifying certain things. Then you have some countries that will not regulate AI at all because they see AI as the future of warfare and regulate certain things that will harm it.
    The only regulation I may see all groups will agree on is protection laws against all Deepfakes, and tampering a Videos of evidence and others yet to not know.

    Japan and the US have two different copyright systems that descend from two separate theories on the the nature of rights. Most of the world uses the civil law model that rivals the American Locke model.
    Civil law has many protects for the author's honor and the integrity of their work. These protections could be used to defend the artist against AI. Large Japanese companies could strike AI generators as they have the potential to violate their authors personality rights.
    Under consumer privacy, In the US it is illegal for data collectors to hold your data after you request them to remove it. AI could be adapted into this framework to remove protected works from training data. Currently it seems the US is drafting up an AI bill of rights.
