@@quayzar_escabar I mean it's not really a conspiracy, that's litterally the end result of capitalism. If you open everything up to the market and put as little rules and regulations as possible as to who can do what and how in this environment under the guise of "it's stifling innovation" or some other bs like that, than what do you think'll happen. That's how monopolies form in the first place (the amount of stuff for instance that coke owns is insane, like I went to Cambodia a couple of years ago, and a local water bottle company was even owned by them). And the sad thing is, it's totally legal. But even then, you can try and regulate this stuff all you want, but in an evironment where companies and single individuals like Musk and other billionaires have the wealth equivalent of entire countries, than it becomes easy for them to buy politicans who'll then work overtime to repeal any protection from this type of behavior that exists on the books. It's truly one hellscape of a system

And second, it is just impenetrable to the common person. Say what you will about how one might learn, credit cards are just so much simpler to understand, and ironically even then some people still don't understand credit cards.
The problem isn't the currency, it's the ability to move money. It doesn't matter if you make a new currency. If you have no way of moving it, it might as well be worth nothing. That's what a payment processor does.
It's easy enough to say physically hand your friend $20 but if you need to buy anything internationally and at a stable rate, you need a middle man to do it and introducing a 3rd currency to do it just makes things more complicated, never mind exchange rates between 2 currencies now you need to do a 3rd exchange before you can even buy anything.
