Galarian Zigzagoon, attacks any and everything it sees. Humans see a small rodent like Pokemon running up on it and naturally assume it wants to be best friends. Zigzagoon, gives up on plans of Conquest for treats and scratches.... I have never. I mean NEVER felt closer to our fictional Pokemon human counterparts.
It is easily one of my absolute favorites in terms of regionals and how they were made. Especially as the Zigzagoon we have known for so long was the regional. One other I love that comes from Galar is Corsola's Alola ones do be fire tho (especially Alolan Exeggcutor)

I believe Route 111 will make more sense when you take into account the evolutions of the Trapinch. First off, have you ever wondered why, when you get to the desert portion of the route, one moment you are in the clear, whereas the very next moment you find yourself completely surrounded in a vicious Sandstorm? This is the first evidence of Flygon's hidden hand. They are always watching from the cliffs, having no need to introduce themselves to you nor encounter you unless on its terms. It is generally understood that so long as humans stick to the road, they won't interfere, but as soon as you turn to move into their territory, they will conjure a new Sandstorm and follow you more closely in an attempt to either ward you off from their territory, get you lost in the desert, or lure you in to become their prey. Second, Trapinch's innate weakness and hunting style makes much more sense when you recognize that they work far better when they have a bit of help. It might be easy to avoid a conical pit if you are just randomly wandering around... it doesn't take much intelligence to 'avoid falling down obvious hole'. But, if instead you are being chased, corraled if you will, and you are running for your life while trapped in a vicious Sandstorm, suddenly those conical pits aren't obvious obstacles but hidden minefields. And if there is a Flygon around to lift a Trapinch up and right it around, or to transport a group of Trapinch to a new hunting ground, the obvious evolutionary curiosities of Trapinch's weaknesses go away, and instead they will be evolutionarily driven toward having the largest trap jaws they can have in order to secure the biggest prey they can. And also note that Flygons can see deep into sandy ground, which can be used to spot burrowing Sandshrews. Rather than being competitors, Sandshrews are suddenly relegated to the realm of potential prey. Trapinch's size and odd shape suddenly makes evolutionary sense: They are designed to be able to immediately grab and hold Sandshrews upon hatching, and their head size doesn't change as they grow but, rather, the rest of their body grows instead. Yet, there's one more twist. Remember that this is an area of the region that is very arid, where resource scarcity will inevitably control who and how many live in an area. I would like to propose that this natural resource constraint and clever hunting tactics will lead toward developing increasing Flygon intelligence and social structure. First, a family of a Flygon and its Trapinches will do better not when they fail to hunt, but also not as they hunt too well, but rather when they manage the resources in their area, protecting both their children *and* their favored prey (Sandshrews) from other creatures which, yes, includes other Flygons, and then only hunting when necessary. Remember that hunting will be unlikely to succeed normally, but very likely to succeed when the Flygon chooses to make it succeed, and this can lead toward Sandshrews becoming not just a favored prey but in fact a livestock item. Effort starts to switch not from hunting, taking resources from a limited reserve, but rather toward *improving* their territory to make it more capable of hosting their 'livestock', and *protecting* their territory. The need to improve and protect territory is what would lead to Flygon families sticking together into 'clans' or 'tribes'. This actually assists in another odd way. The bigger a Trapinch egg is, the more expensive it is to produce. But once you develop tribal society and politics, you will also develop the ability to police who reproduces in the first place. The larger Flygon leaders would be the primary reproducers, while their children would stay around them to serve as the primary workers to manage the tribal resources. The bigger a Flygon is, the larger the eggs they produce can be, and thus the more capable they can be at doing their job of 'minefield'. Actually, evidence of a hidden Flygon society can also be found in a very strange place -- Orre. A place that is once devoid of natural Pokémon, until suddenly, two kinds of creatures begin to be found in the 'Desert Spot' of Orre, exactly Trapinch and Sandshrew. But how would they get there and why those two... unless they were both intentionally brought there by a group of Flygons? It would be this system that early humans would find upon coming to Hoenn, and naturally Flygon society would meld with human society to form part of the Draconid culture.
I do love this take on the species, but there’s one key thing that stops me from following this. When we look at the line, Trapinch is eaten by the Sandile line Meanwhile Flygon will typically work alongside Krookodile to hunt This means that Vibrava, while intelligent, are not a communal species and are opportunistic carnivores that will even eat its own species if necessary. Where are they? A question that could be answered how you stated it, but it also means nobody encounters them because the species will eat them as even Vibrava aren’t encountered here yet they are said to not be able to fly very far despite having wings. As for Orre, it’s hard to assume that Flygon would bring anything to the region instead of just simply evolving (in the traditional sense) to exist there similar to how we’d find a Robin in two different regions. Once again though, I do love the take on it, the thought process, description, and the connections you drew!
@@KrillikVALet me point out a few things though: 1) There aren't any Sandiles, Krokoroks, and Krookodiles in Hoenn, at least in RSE. 2) If creatures are intelligent, able to communicate, and willing to cooperate within societal boundaries, they may be accepted within such a society. In areas where Krookodiles and Sandiles do exist in concert with Flygons and Trapinches, their complex social interactions are actually more evidence of societal communication, not less. 3) There is absolutely nothing inconsistent with Flygons and their kin being cannibals. In fact, the prospect of falling out of favor with the tribe and becoming dinner may be a clear motivator for working with the tribe to avoid that fate. The biggest competitors of one tribe are going to be a neighboring tribe, and a lot of effort and tactics will inevitably be developedin terms of how to handle such interactions. This likely culminates in tactical raids that one tribe will inflict on another in order to both weaken them and demonstrate dominance. One flaw with the strategy of 'mining' their territory with their young is that the burrows could be infiltrated, which is something you did bring up in your video. Thus, rather than being a menace, Sandiles may be intentionally used by one tribe to infiltrate the tunnels of another, in the effort of raiding a competitor. 4) Producing additional children may be less of a societal investment from the point of view of a tribal Matriarch than raising said young into the winged stage. Thus you may have a situation where ~10% of Trapinches end up evolving, but those who do evolve have already had significant resource investment and thus need to be protected and trained. Once Vibravas have evolved from Trapinches, thus, they would likely be found closer to the core territory of a tribe, where it is safer, whereas Trapinches may be deployed more around the peripheries. One thing to note is that the underground tunnels and chambers are likely to be very complex and run as a kind of parallel world to the surface. In fact, a lot of the water resources are often found in underground aquifers and rivers, rather than above ground where evaporation can become an issue. 5) Orre is a very recent development, as humans were the ones to originally destroy the environment in the first place. There wouldn't be time for evolution to create a new clade of Flygons, but there would be time for a few migrating Flygons in search of a new home territory to fly there from across the lands. The point I was making in regards to Orre is that they may have carried their 'livestock' with them when they migrate in order to seed their new lands with their food. That would explain how both Trapinch and Sandshrew can be found filling the recovered niches once the land of Orre becomes even a bit less hostile.

Do you fellas know why sharpedo only has 4 fins? its real world counterpart is the shark obviously. humans love love their fins and have categorized it into different grades: First grade and the Low grade. if you subtract the Fist grade fins from the shark, that shark is left with the pelvic, anal, second dorsal and then upper caudal fin--totaling to 4 fins. I'm guessing in hoenn their practice involves only taking the good quality fin. those that survived the amputation were able to breed, multiply, and evolve to be the torpedo pokemon we now call sharpedo.
