the puns for pressure apply to the bisharp line aswell since in chess pressure refers to a situation where a player actively attacks or threatens their opponent's position, forcing them to constantly defend and making them feel like they are under threat, often requiring them to play defensively to maintain their position, rather than actively attacking themselves
And for a moment, i lived in a world where abilities existed since Gen 1....something i forgot, didn't exist until Gen 3 (my first pikemon game was LeafGreen)
I've loved Mega Swampert from the day I saw it simply because I saw it in a used copy of Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire I bought and he was nicknamed "Swole Patrol"
Huh, that is a headcanon I've never considered. Pokemon first coming into existences as their final stage and then gaining earlier stages over the course of time as a way to save energy.... but if they still need that more powerful state they can evolve into it.
This isn’t related to gen 3, but im very new to Pokémon. I was aware of it as a kid but wasn’t able to play the games until I got a switch a few years ago and even then it took me a long time to actually get into the games despite wanting to for so long. With that being said, my knowledge about the mechanics of the game (stats, personalities, abilities etc) is very surface level. In fact, besides knowing that every Pokémon has these things, I know next to nothing and have been HUNTING for deep dives like this to help my gameplay & further my understanding of Pokémon. I finally started shield in the summer & have just beat the main story (it takes me a LONG time to get through games) & prior to playing it, I truly had no appreciation for the value of abilities. Every now and again I’d see “_____ is exerting its pressure” & I was just like “okay, whatever that means” UNTIL I added a Stufful/Bewear to my team with the fluffy ability and ohmygosh was that thing an absolute TANK! I fully believe that Bewear & this ability have changed my life and now I can hopefully begin to understand the benefits of more abilities. Anyways, thank you for this video!! I love your deep dives, they are exactly what I crave from the Pokémon universe.
This is one of the big “feelings” I want to recapture as I make my deep dives Give context beyond mechanics and connect it all better to reality to revive it the childhood spark as an adult Also, I’ve loved the Bewear line and I gush about it in the Ultra Beast video (momma bear goes hard against Pheromosa) I’m happy you enjoyed!
Do you see this kids and gen9 adults?? We *USED* to get thorough, fun, reasoning for our games and gameplay. Games and interactions that made sense because they were cared about.
I honestly love the newer games in just how much detail that Pokemon and places end up getting! As a Puerto Rican, I loved seeing all the little Spanish (Spain of course specifically) details that were in Paldea! El Cantar de Mio Cid and its relation to Ceruledge makes me smile every single time because when you read the story it becomes so incredibly obvious, but I would have never known if it weren't for others pointing me towards it and then reading it myself Every time I have a pokemon I dislike, after researching it, I find myself loving them so much more. It's all just weirdly hidden away

WELL ACTUALLY Tera electric mismagius has no weakness
I was about to say why start at gen 3 lol
Shuckle's "Berry Juicing" ability from gen 2 was too powerful and complex for mere mortals to understand.
@@cioplasmmajic8327 That’d be a FANTASTIC April fools day video.
1:25:50 another fun shark fact: shark skin has so called dermal denticles, which are NOT scales, but in fact teeth!
I was confused about 30 pokemon having Torrent, but it seems like Unovan Samurott and Hisuian Samurott are considered separate pokemon.
Awesome vid, can’t wait for gen 2 next!

Can't wait for another great vid. Too bad I've been up all night and just got the damn notification.
LETS GO perfect timing to fall asleep to (even tho its 4 am)
The JAB at stunky's eyesight 😭
About Lickitung having Cloud Nine: it could be because it's always in a happy mood.
11:43 Assuming you’re not counting Sabeleye, Spiritomb, or any glitch Pokémon, as far as I know you’re right.
Looking forward to listening to this while doing meal-prep 🙌🏻

Welcome to the fandom!
Illuminate as of gen 9 does have an in battle effect. I believe it's given keen eye's effect.
Turns out that was given during a new update in the new gen, not even when the new gen was released
Freaking updates messing up my info lol
Finally, something that makes sense
Huge power move doing them all
I'm jealous of everyone that hasn't seen a rattlesnake in person
30:50
Why wouldn't you do that for the changed abilities earlier in the video ? ?_?
From what I could find, not every ability has changed over the years
I expected more changes, but nope
@@KrillikVA
Not every one, no.
But you skipped at least one before that time code.
remember, before gen V, sturdy ONLY prevented OHKO moves
Right before bed time 🙏
4:08 Sawk also has Sturdy
I never bothered with pickup, mainly because i want to evolve them and not have level 100 unevolved lol
How can sound proof pokemon hear your orders?

how do you sound exactly like False Swipe Gaming?
Ooh~
I'm convinced you're mispronouncing Pokémon names on purpose.
