    Just as a quick note, STARS ARE NOT DEAD PLANETS, I didn't realize the insanity had settled in that early, but I figured I'd address and pin that here.
    In addition, Lapras eats fish in the Ultra Moon Pokedex, and Kyurem is rumored to eat people, just small things to note and hopefully people read this as to not be misinformed.
    Abra in the Sun dex is stated to eat berries in trees
    Skitty COULD be an ambush predator as many cats actually are
    Orbeetle could be eating small bugs as ladybugs do eat aphids
    And many apes/monkeys are omnivores as they do eat PLENTY of bugs
    In addition, Victini is noted in the research notes, but I didn't mention that it technically isn't a part of the food chain. That V for Victory makes it win every battle and breaks the system, making it rival Arceus
    The only reason I know some of these now is due to the kind constructive criticism and comments of YOU! Thank you!

      for mega glailie it could freeze its prey then once the mega evolutions over eat them
      for spiritomb since so many ghost types eat life force i would say ghost types eat life force by default just that the dex does not state the method for some same for yamask, mimikyu, dreepy and gholdengo. as for greavard the official scarlet and violet site (im having trouble with links easiest way to find it is to look at the bulbapedia citation for its greavard description sry) states that "Greavard will slowly and inadvertently absorb the life-force of those around it,", for rotom its primarily an electric type so i believe it eats electricity not life
      (i have a theory that the spirit world sustains dusknoir but unlike the others that is pure conjecture)
      edit: just got to the misdreavus section and remembered some ghosts eat fear but based on the pokemon i listed the only one i think would go into this camp instead of life eating would possibly be spiritomb eating the emotive reaction to its mischief

    Haxorus was all but confirmed to be an herbivore by Ken Sugimori, the creator of the Pokemon. He said he took inspiration from a beak-mouth herbivore dinosaur. It eats dirt to keep its tusks sharp and likely uses them not to hunt, but to defend itself and dig up roots/vegetables as well as pull branches closer to eat fruits, leaves, etc. This may also be why they have long necks (in order to reach tree branches better).

    What you said about Bobcats vs Bears is also true about Wolverines vs Bears. Wolverines are extremely vicious creatures and Bears go out of their way to avoid them because they're so aggressive and put up so much of a fight. It just goes to show that even if something is bigger and stronger than you if you're crazy enough they won't fuck with you.
    And also I do like the standing format. I feel like it holds my attention.

  • @honeybunbb52
    @honeybunbb52 6 месяцев назад +5

    Id say not liking to fight isn't inherently a herbivore thing because lots of solitary predators avoid unnecessary conflict, if they get injured and can't hunt they lower their survival chances, they usually go for quick easy kills when possible.
    That aside I'm loving this video so far

    • @gerald2508
      @gerald2508 4 месяца назад +1

      Fighting is more of an herbivore thing because they can afford to do it, if they get injured they can simply eat some plants but a predator has to get lucky to recover.

    VERY surprised and in disagreement with pretty much all of the "herbivore" picks that are based on the Pokémon being compassionate or friendly. The closest social species to Eevee are dogs or lions, which very specifically create packs/prides to hunt together. While sociality isn't exclusive to carnivores or omnivores, I'd definitely not consider it anywhere near a herbivorous trait.

    • @KrillikVA
      @KrillikVA  7 месяцев назад +1

      Honestly, I completely respect that opinion
      I see pokemon and I often think of their pokedex and habits first and foremost even if pokemon like eevee have fox/dog/cat hybridization which would typically make it an omnivore at least

  • @Error403HRD
    @Error403HRD 7 месяцев назад +9

    "Carnivore at heart but it eats berries" is such a weird thing to be in the pokedex lol. Especially since i don't think rufflet or braviary are particularly violent, right? (Don't quote me on that, I didn't double check)

    • @gerald2508

    A great many issues here, the biggest I've noticed so far are saying stars are planets and the conflation of autotrophs with chemotrophs. When an organism breaks down things like minerals of rocks or target specific chemicals that are abundant in certain areas (like sulfur in volcanic regions or hydro-thermal vents), we don't call those autotrophs; we specifically call them chemotrophs.

    • @KrillikVA
      @KrillikVA  6 месяцев назад +2

      That's actually a really good point, I would say that would be more specific for when I made the category "inorganic heterotrophs" as I do have a bunch of Pokemon that would be perfect for chemotrophs in that case! That's actually a term I hadn't really learned before and tried finding.
      As for the stars, yeah, no defense there, a simple mistake from years of never learning that proper
