Alolan Exeggutor more closely resembles a coconut tree or tropical palm tree. Its Dragon type may be a reference to the Dracaena genus of trees. It may also be a pun inspired by the Coca, a dragon whose name shares the same origins as the word coconut. Its dramatically larger size may also reference island gigantism.
I'm surprised there was no mention of the theory that the Galarian Legendary Birds are convergent instead of divergent. The Pokedex does seem to imply it with its specific wording. It wouldn't even be the first time a convergent Pokemon was misidentified since the Pokedex also says that Wiglett used to be considered a Paldean Diglett
Hopefully they never retire the concept of Regional Forms. I don’t mind there being fewer going on in the next couple titles like Paldea. I’d just be upset if we didn’t get a single one. So in a way I’m a bit worried about ZA
I have a theory about the evolution of Hisuian Voltorb/Electrode into their Kantonian counterparts. It's never stated what material Kantonian Voltorbs and Electrodes are made from; it can be determined that it's not metal since they do not have the STEEL type the way Magnemite and Magneton do. I think Voltorb and Electrode instead are covered in plastic, which can be created by processing certain plants. And the Hisuian Voltorb and Electrode just so happen to be GRASS type. Or possibly the accumulation of microplastics created by humans caused the plant based material in the pokemon to be substituted out in favor for being able to survive in a more industrial age.
12:00 This bit where stuff like metals and minerals are absorbed from the environment applies perfectly to my favorite pokemon, Ferroseed and Ferrothorn. They literally absorb iron and other metals in order to make a protective casing.

What if the reason it says Mime Jr developed that way by enjoying Mr Rime dancing is because there exists an independent line of Mr Rime that either never evolved from Mr Mime or came about in some other way. Sinistea could be looked at in a similar way to this idea, stamped and unstamped while being similar technically have different evolution methods, so might be considered two different versions the way this hypothetical Mr Rime is. But my thought is that because Mime Jr is known to mimic and evolves when it learns the move. Maybe they diverged in evolution form because they were specifically mimicking this original, proto, Mr Rime that existed prior to Galarian Mr Mime. Making that branch of evolution some kind of pantomime of what a Mr Rime originally was.

Fun fact there was a fan game back In the day, while we were waiting for pokemon pokemon x and y's third version/sequel, that introduced some novel concepts to the pokemon formula such as giving you items to replace HMs such as a machete for cut and it also introduced some unique encounters of pokemon that we knew with different typings What did the next real pokemon game introduce? They got rid of the need for HMs giving you essentially pokemon that weren't part of your team to aid you traverse the terrain and regional forms of pokemon we already knew with different typings honestly if I was part of the team that made that fan game I'd still be illated to this day, even if it was like a thing where 2 people looked at the pokemon saga and its issues (such as the HM problem), what concepts they could expand on rather than just adding new mons and they both landed on the same ideas independently, I'd be like "nope, shut up I absolutely contributed to this franchise I love you cannot tell me otherwise"

You have asked me a question that has lead to my biggest project I have ever worked on While I have seen small food webs, nothing has shown the ENTIRE food chain across all regions And after reading every single pokedex entry, organizing it in text and in a visual medium, all I have left is to record me talking about it all and edit it properly. I think that applies to some Pokemon such as Voltorb, but in the case of Growlithe/Arcanine, they are so beloved by trainers and people in general in the world that I could never see it actually going extinct. So, I imagine it just lost all the extra fluff that it didn't need BUT it would explain why we could see it in modern colder areas if Pokemon wants them in the modern age games
What if Zoroak were hunted for their warm scarves in the cold region of Hisui? This caused them to become ghosts with luff lush flocks of mane that can never be used. They trick hunters into attacking them before using something like bitter malice or phantom force. I also think it’s a cool theory because what if Zoroak adapted to have the illusion ability so that they could get what they want, while avoiding getting hunted.
Don't think it invalidates anything you said but I like the theory that goes around that the Galarian birds ISN'T the kanto birds they just received their names cuz they're similar. Take Galarian Moltres dex entry for example: "*The sinister aura that blazes like molten fire around this Pokémon is what inspired the name Moltres.*"
My only main criticism is that it’d be really nice for casual viewers like me for visuals of the pokemon being discussed to remain on screen while you talk about them! It can be small and in the corner, just something so we can still look at it. Otherwise a fun video to listen to ☺️

I had noticed that but wanted to go over them all. This was a nice test video before I started doing more deep dives. I think the only downside to making this content is I restrict myself from watching anyone else make it
After the way they did sv. They could give us different dlc to bring us every pikemon in at least the main gen games. They could start the game with new pokemon mixed with older ones. Then bring different dlc to bring the rest of the pokemon. That way we can get them.
I find it stupid that people hate on regional forms while real life counterparents exists in real life,that's like a fox lover says they hate all foxes but one kind,you ain't a real fox lover than are ya? I have a deep love for science and nature as that's originally what I was going to college for, so it felt right to deep dive and apply it to Pokemon, especially since these things are considered in their creation! As for the reasoning...I think the areas that Sneasler/Weavile inhabit are more snowy, while Alolan Sandslash has more ice to break through considering that I believe it will also go underground. So it probably just made their claws tougher through time through needs. It's insane to think how packed ice can be denser than some rocks! I think one thing that could have made this video even better is having more pictures of the Pokémon or maybe clips of the Pokémon you were talking about from the anime playing while you were talking maybe some graphs or something like that instead of a long video of you Talking, no shade, it can give the viewers something more to look at
No shade taken! Honestly graphs wouldn't fit this at all but I get where you are going. In addition, many of these pokemon have VERY short parts in the anime or games and I can't use other people art. Ultimately I saw it as more boring to have static images for too long BUT my upcoming release on "Why Chairman Rose was DESTINED to FAIL" has more clips to it! I love pokemon, and my favorite is Growlithe and Arcanine. I want to throw Hisuian Arcanine into the sea and let it sink to the bottom, forever. I can't take the design compared to the original. Hisuian growlithe is okay, though.👍

Blood moon Ursaluna is honestly weird. It's less of a variant and more of a Ursaluna that survived making it overseas to Kitakami. Think of it as a damaged and cornered animal more than anything. That's how I enterpret it at least

Hey man, I'm really enjoying your videos. I will say that when you delve into real world comparisons your accuracy and understanding is sometimes a little bit off. Especially considering how much time and effort (and passion) you clearly put into these videos, I would encourage you to take slightly more time with your research and aiming for a bit more specificity and accuracy when talking about real world biology or phylogenetics.
Don't you worry, since this video I'm taking more and more time and I think the ancient history of pokemon will be pretty spot on I've been working towards that improvement and thank you for watching!
Basculin only had Basculegion as it's own other variant. White stripe is not an official separate form actually! As for H.Typhlosion, it got it's own entire video!

From being timid to being so aggressive the red and blue striped basculin will at time kill each other. I think there was a Pokedex message that talked about that.

What did the next real pokemon game introduce? They got rid of the need for HMs giving you essentially pokemon that weren't part of your team to aid you traverse the terrain and regional forms of pokemon we already knew with different typings
honestly if I was part of the team that made that fan game I'd still be illated to this day, even if it was like a thing where 2 people looked at the pokemon saga and its issues (such as the HM problem), what concepts they could expand on rather than just adding new mons and they both landed on the same ideas independently, I'd be like "nope, shut up I absolutely contributed to this franchise I love you cannot tell me otherwise"

I never pictured Hisuian Arcanine as an ancestor to modern ones, but an offshoot regional variant that went extinct
I think that applies to some Pokemon such as Voltorb, but in the case of Growlithe/Arcanine, they are so beloved by trainers and people in general in the world that I could never see it actually going extinct. So, I imagine it just lost all the extra fluff that it didn't need BUT it would explain why we could see it in modern colder areas if Pokemon wants them in the modern age games

What if Zoroak were hunted for their warm scarves in the cold region of Hisui? This caused them to become ghosts with luff lush flocks of mane that can never be used. They trick hunters into attacking them before using something like bitter malice or phantom force. I also think it’s a cool theory because what if Zoroak adapted to have the illusion ability so that they could get what they want, while avoiding getting hunted.

Don't think it invalidates anything you said but I like the theory that goes around that the Galarian birds ISN'T the kanto birds they just received their names cuz they're similar. Take Galarian Moltres dex entry for example: "*The sinister aura that blazes like molten fire around this Pokémon is what inspired the name Moltres.*"
Also maybe J-Sneasel is dark because psychic is 4x effective against poison/fighting but dark is immune

After the way they did sv. They could give us different dlc to bring us every pikemon in at least the main gen games. They could start the game with new pokemon mixed with older ones. Then bring different dlc to bring the rest of the pokemon. That way we can get them.

I have a deep love for science and nature as that's originally what I was going to college for, so it felt right to deep dive and apply it to Pokemon, especially since these things are considered in their creation!
As for the reasoning...I think the areas that Sneasler/Weavile inhabit are more snowy, while Alolan Sandslash has more ice to break through considering that I believe it will also go underground. So it probably just made their claws tougher through time through needs. It's insane to think how packed ice can be denser than some rocks!

I think one thing that could have made this video even better is having more pictures of the Pokémon or maybe clips of the Pokémon you were talking about from the anime playing while you were talking maybe some graphs or something like that instead of a long video of you Talking, no shade, it can give the viewers something more to look at
No shade taken! Honestly graphs wouldn't fit this at all but I get where you are going. In addition, many of these pokemon have VERY short parts in the anime or games and I can't use other people art. Ultimately I saw it as more boring to have static images for too long BUT my upcoming release on "Why Chairman Rose was DESTINED to FAIL" has more clips to it!
I also plan to try and work SOMETHING proper for the next massive Pokemon Research video!

Blood moon Ursaluna is honestly weird. It's less of a variant and more of a Ursaluna that survived making it overseas to Kitakami.

Basculin only had Basculegion as it's own other variant. White stripe is not an official separate form actually!

@@KrillikVA or about how stantler stoped learning how to use psyshield bash which helps it evolve into weirder. And the personality shift white stripe basculin has from it's modern relatives. From being timid to being so aggressive the red and blue striped basculin will at time kill each other. I think there was a Pokedex message that talked about that.
