Love this idea! My parents just moved and they have those wire shelves in their pantry. My mom hates them, but doesn’t want to spend the money to replace them. I’m going to try this technique and see what she thinks! I’ll report back when I’m done.

Oh that is lovely🥰 Yes! Please report back🤗 judging by the amounts of likes from your comment, many of us want to hear what your mom thinks of the final result 🥰 I read someone’s comment and they will be using white foam board instead of black (like I did) to minimize contrast. Especially since the bottom is exposed. 💡

I like this video. I've done a project similar to this, but I used display board (dense cardboard), which I've layered anywhere from two to four layers thick, applying E6000 glue between each layer.
Display board can be pretty difficult to cut, but it is durable--especially when layered and glued.
The main reason why I don't care for the wire shelves is because trying to get items to stay upright when you put them on the shelves is impossible--the items always tip over in one direction or another. It's a right old bloody pain!

What was wrong with your wire shelves ? I like them better.

Sometimes things don’t sit well on the wire shelving.

Personally, I think the labor is 100% worth it! Great job, Lucy and hubby! 😊

Yes, like Annseabolt mentioned some of the items don’t sit right and fall through. The other reason is for pure aesthetics. I always loved the wood pattern pantries and now that I have my own home, I wanted to give this a try but on a budget 😅. For now, wood pattern is my style but I may change it to a different look later on☺️ Figured, many other beautiful souls would want to give their wire shelves a new look too

Wish I could see the puzzled look on your American viewers' faces as they vainly attempt to add "centimeters" to "inches". #noconcept

Why is she keep saying add “centimeters”? when she’s using American measurement system with inches.
Those lines are 1/8th of an inch, they’re are not centimeters measurements.
I mean I hate to play on stereotypes here.
