I just wanted to let you know we did this over a year ago and they are still going great. Thank you so much for sharing this great strategy for covering the wire shelving. I am enjoying our pantry so much more with these covers. It looks great and functions so much better. Thank you again!!
This is awesome! We’re a military family and this will be our last home we move into and I want to make it look way nicer than it is! (It was built in 1995 and is pretty small for our family of 5 lol). Your video is totally going to help with that🥰
Beautiful, love the pantry wood idea I was just looking what I can do with mine . We have the exact same racks . I’m definitely doing this upcoming weekend. Thanks for the tip .
Did you have to make your shelves an inch wider to accommodate adding the 1x3, to keep the shelf fitting securely against the back of the closet? If measured exactly, how would have no room to nail the 2 pieces together without pulling the panel more to the front to have room to nail. Thank You
This project turned out great! I am planning on doing this, and I don’t have a nail gun. Can I just use a hammer instead? Also, Can you recall how long the nails were that you used?
Hello -what was the width/ height of the wood panelling you were using, I see it is very thin, so I was curious how thick the panels were& about how much weight the shelves can hold
The width and height depends on your shelves, I think you are asking the thickness and that’s .138in per the specs on the website. As far as weight, it hold a lot since the wire shelves are still at the bottom. Hope this helps! Thank you for watching!
@@jojobelashares it does, thanks so much, the thickness was what I was inquiring about, I understood the length & width would be determined by the side of my existing plastic shelves
How do you keep from the edge of the wire shelving to be exposed if you’re nailing the front cover to the wood paneling that is behind the front of the shelf?
Hey, I’m confused as to what you are asking. The wire shelf is not being exposed as it is covered by the piece of wood that is in front, is that what you meant? Thank you for watching!!
Love this idea. Did yours have the plastic shelf holder in the front corners to support the wire shelf? It seems like this may keep the panel from setting down flat. I couldn't see if you had those in the video.
Home depot has but the prices have gone up. This one was around 34 where I live, i found one for 20 that i didnt like as much but its in a closet covered with baskets and such so i went with the cheaper. Go to the store, i believe online only sells in bulk.
We bought this over a year ago and the prices have gone up. I wasn’t able to locate the one we have online. I would suggest going to Home Depot and seeing what they have. They tend to have a few options. Good luck! Thank you for watching!
I can't find it either and I feel like Ive looked everywhere. I also can't see Eddie's post where I assumed he told ya the secret location. Please share.
We wanted to show how you can cover them and make them look nice without having to remove them as that is more work and this is easy and quick. Thank you for watching!
How much over hang did you give in the measurement for the board to have room to nail into your 1x3 ? I know we’d want to account for the thickness of the bars but did you do any extra ?
of all the ones I've seen covering shelves on the big old internet - this one is the best. great video by the way - will now do this for the wife.
Thank you!

This looks so much better than all those channels showing how to make this out of foam. Well done :)
Thank you so much !

Excellent makeover!! We will be doing this to our pantry! Thanks 😊
Happy you loved it! Thank you for the support!
@@jojobelashares can you link a few examples of the wood panels? I can’t find any at the size and price point you mentioned.
This looks very nice and simple to do. Thanks for sharing!!🥰
Thank you for watching 😊
Oooh I love this! I want to do this in my pantry and my closet too! I hate wire shelving! ❤
It sure is the easiest and fastest thing to do to cover them up and they look cute! Thank you for watching!
Wow very awesome!
Thank you!
Hi Jojo, fellow YT friend here and new subscriber! Love how this turned out, I might try this in my linen closet. Thank you 🙏
Glad you like it! And thank you so much for the support :)
Love this!
Thank you so much for sharing! I absolutely hate wire shelves cos they're so hard to clean😂
Thank you for watching! And this will def be easier to clean 😉
This is a great hack! How did you measure the width of the wood paneling? Did you add an extra 1” from the edge of the rack?
Hello, yea that’s what we did since we used a 1x3. Thank you for watching!
Love how it came out
Thank you for watching!
Nice job!

Hello, yes I did have to do that so there was no gap at the back end. Thank you for watching!
This project turned out great! I am planning on doing this, and I don’t have a nail gun. Can I just use a hammer instead? Also, Can you recall how long the nails were that you used?
Thank you! We used 1” brad nails and you can try with a hammer I’m sure it would work as well. Good luck and thank you for watching !

Hey! Thank you for watching. Yes, we have it but it’s at the bottom of the wire shelf so the panel is able to lay flat without any issues.
How are you measuring it? Does it seats on top of corner bracket?
I measured from the left wall to the right wall, so yes the wood is on top of the corner brackets. Thank you for watching!
Did you add 1” to the depth measurement when you had them cut it?
Because of my measurements only one didn’t get the 1” but all of the others did. Thank you for watching!
Did yall glue the panel down the the wire shelf????
No we did not, so you can remove the covers and leave the wire as is if you wanted to again, thanks for watching
thank you!!!!
I can’t find wood panelling that was at the price point you mentioned. Maybe I’m typing in the wrong things. Can you like a few as examples?

Did you only nail the wood to the panel or if it into the metal
The nail went in from the top of the panel into the piece of wood. Thank you for watching!
Can you see the wire on the bottom on the top shelf
Hey, only if you are bending down and looking up other than that you can’t notice it. Thank you for watching!!
Can you link wood that you bought from HD?
how did you do the door shelves?
Any husbands here that arw more invested to learn how to have an organized home because wives dont see its importance?
How did you hide the brackets?
What keeps shelf from leaning forward?
The wire rack is attached to the wall. The paneling just lays flat on wire rack shelf, then we attach the piece of 1x3 to it:)
do they not slide at all?
No they do not
What kind of paneling was used? I’m searching but I only see the small/thin paneling that isn’t as wide as yours.

Anyone find the answer ?
Inside it’s still the ugly wire rack

We did a 1/4in overhang apart from accounting for the thickness of the bars. Thank you for watching!
