How did he secure the base of the Brimnes to the 2x6 frame? I bought them with the intent to hack like this and I feel like I made the wrong choice because it's not a solid flat bottom. I figured I would need trim to cover that gap like you did, but I just can't figure out the securing to the base frame!!

Looks great! I noticed the wall outlet in the back and how the extra support is helping provide some space. Do you think there would be enough space to plug an extension cable in behind the shelf if it had a pretty flat plug?

I would have ripped a 3" faceplate from the plywood to cover the 1x3 so it looked like one piece.
