So the reason Yoda reminds you of The Muppets is intentional. Jim Henson, creator of The Muppets and original voice of Kermit The Frog, helped create the puppet used for Yoda, and Frank Oz, voice/puppeteer for Miss Piggy, did the voice and puppetry work for Yoda in all the Star Wars movies

I remember Mark Hamill talking about how the sets were elevated so that Frank Oz could puppeteer from below. Mark had an earpiece so he could hear Frank under the stage, but it would sometimes pick up local radio stations. Sometimes he’d have to stop and tell the crew “Hey, I got Zeppelin in this ear!” or whatever was playing. 😄

Fact: Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) was in a bad car accident right before filming, and wound up breaking his nose among other injuries. George Lucas had a heck of a hard time making Episode 4 because in 1977 nobody took science fiction seriously. Many studios turned him down until finally 20th Century Fox said okay but only gave him a tiny budget. That's why most of the effects and fight choreography wasn't very good in Episode 4. Brilliantly, Lucas negotiated with 20th century fox to get a lower salary in exchange for 100% of the merchandising rights. Since toys and merchandise based off of movies wasn't really popular in 1977, the studio foolishly agreed and Lucas made MOST of his money off of toy and merchandising sales. When it came to make The Empire Strikes Back, he had secured almost THREE TIMES the budget which is noticeable in terms of better sets and effects and fight scenes and characters like Yoda (performed and voiced by Frank Oz, the man behind Miss Piggy and Fozzie the Bear)
It's also worth noting that when Lucas started making episode 4, he had to create a company to do special effects - and he started Industrial Light and Magic (ILM). They had to INVENT many of the different types of bluescreen cameras and effects for the movies because they hadn't ever been done before this. So some of the shots do look a little cheesy, but considering they had to INVENT THE COMPUTER CONTROLLED CAMERAS and stuff (I can't even imagine, omg), it's really amazing given what they had to work with.
Loving the reactions, you'll love Episode 6.
    Cheers.

Personally I dislike reactors who start with the "I dont like old movies" and "let's look how good the CGI is" attitude, because they are brainwashed into only going by visuals when judging a movie and ignoring flaws in stories and bad characters.

@@Muck006 Oh absolutely. One of my favorite movies of all time is "The Adventures of Robin Hood" with Errol Flynn from 1938, and it's filmed more like a play than a movie by today's standards. The effects are simple and the focus is on the storytelling and it's a great story and full of great performances. Now, to be fair, when I was younger I hated old movies too - they were just the dumb things my parents watched, but as I've gotten older I've found an appreciation for older movies, and older music. Many still hold up you just have to evaluate them differently.

The sarcastic remarks she throws at Han are just part of her personality, along with her avoiding the truth that he is right, and she is actually in love with him. Once he kisses her, she knows the jig is up, and she now has to admit the truth to both him and herself.

Chewbacca is played by Peter Mayhew, with many of Chewie's sounds coming from bear growls. Re: R2 cursing. Not too far from the truth. Apparently R2 has an attitude and can get quite... scratchy. Also, it is unlikely that R2-D2 has had a memory wipe. So he should be able to remember lots of stuff. Yoda is a muppet, and is voiced by none other than Frank "Miss Piggy" Oz. John Williams did the soundtracks for Star Wars and Superman in the same year. He also did Jurassic Park, another of your favourites. It's Boba Fett. Long 'o' pronunciation. Please see 'the Making of ~', because there were a lot of practical effects and not as much CGI as you might think. The AT-ATs were actually done with stop-motion animation and models.

Solo - the movie - was sooo bad ... it was the first Star Wars movie that LOST MONEY ... and the franchise is more or less DEAD by now, reduced to bad TV series.

Love that you caught the respect in the lightsaber fight. Exactly right. Drawing like that and giving the enemy time to do the same is a sign of respect. They were both trained to be jedi knights, so they do often follow the knights swordplay rules.

There WAS NO SUCH THING as CGI back then. The wonky movements of the Tauntauns (what Luke rode) and the Imperial Walkers were models animated one frame at a time (stop-action also known as "Claymation"). We old guys appreciate the "practical effects" because it is part of the wonder (how DID they do that???) when now it is sort of ho hum (oh, they obviously did that with CGI). As you probably know Lucas put out a revision (around 1995ish) where he added a FEW CGI features but most think they were no improvement at all. I'm glad Spielberg didn't try to upgrade Jae's or Close Encounters!

Everyone keeps commenting this lol.. I KNOW it was “practical effects”. I’m used to saying cgi now. I was born in early 90’s when there was barely cgi so I know
I just happened to call it that

The actor who plays Darth Maul Ray Park was originally brought on as a stunt coordinator but got the part due to his skills in martial arts and how good he was with the double bladed lightsaber prop during the fight rehearsals. Don't know if you have seen the first X men movie yet but he also played Toad in that movie too

There was no CGI when this movie came out. Any CGI was added in the 90s, when the “special editions” came out. There was also no CGI in the original Return of the Jedi. You watched a “special edition.” It’s hard to find the unaltered versions of the original trilogy.

the Hoth scenes were filmed in Norway. The scene after Luke escaped the Wampa cave was filmed in a snowstorm,...right outside the hotel.

A Snowtrooper unknowingly opens it and gets grabbed and pulled in by a Wampa (the Yeti species that attacked Luke) 2 other Snowtroopers there are like O &%^$ time to be a bit more careful with what doors we open now

I disagree with your perspective about the "CGI". Most of the effects, in fact, are practical and optical, made with models and in camera with multiple layering of film, not CGI at all. There were added CGI effects by Lucas in 1997, but those are few. Most of the effects have really held up and are just as good looking even better than some CGI. Yes, some are inferior, individual moments, but not enough that I feel they should warrant such a negative reaction to them. They never once really take you out of the story, especially with such a great story and characters. Anyway, otherwise love the reaction.

Agreed. I can't help get irked by younger people who have no context and give unfair criticism.Oh well. I'd say ROJ is probably the best of all of the movies from an acting, story, dialog etc. Modern ones have better special effects but I don't give a lot a weight to those things.

Not a negative reaction from me at all! I grew up watching 80’s and 90’s movies I’m young but not that young lol almost 30
I’ve seen the growth of practical effects to cgi over the years. Was just stating “some of it” doesn’t look great now but did also say I UNDERSTAND it’s 2022 now. It looked really good for its time!
      Thanks for watching

    @7:24, yep everyone needs one.
George Lucas says that the idea for Chewie came from his dog Indiana an Alaskan Malamute. Lucas said whenever he went driving Indiana would sit up from in the car next to him. Just like Chewie does with Han Solo.
When Lucas and Steven Spielberg began making Raiders of the Lost Ark, he named the main character after his beloved pooch. This origin story became a joke in the 3rd Indiana Jones film.

This is one of the best soundtracks of all time, it's no wonder you respond to it my man. George Lucas was very keen to make the music be part of the storytelling, and it's hard to go wrong with John Williams composing. It's pretty great on its own, but at the same time loses something if you hear it without the visuals. There's magic in the mix...
And yes, this is probably the best Star Wars movie overall. Graphics improve as time goes by, but the story and script of this one is unmatched.

More than that, it's been three years. He joined the rebellion for her. He has been in love with her all that time. If Han was the rogue he claims to be he would have bounced years ago. But she's is too stubborn to admit the same. If she did, a thousand bounty hunters wouldn't be enough keep Han away from her. "I know" means "I won, you finally admit it."
