I'd give anything to be able to unsee them so I could go and watch them all again. I'd love for my local cinema to do a special of all three full extended versions. I'd willing drop fifty quid to do that.
Ride of the Rohirrim is just unmatched. People try and put the Avemgers Assemble from Endgame on the same level but in truth that CGI mess was nothing close to the level
I saw this at its midnight premier, in an auditorium that had amazing surround sound and bass. When Gimli blows the horn, the entire auditorium vibrated and you could feel it in your bones. It was freaking awesome.
@@lionjezztv Watch it on a home theatre sound system with good bass and properly placed surround speakers. It might not be the exact same experience, but it will be as close as you can get to it.
You could almost make one just for Aragorn entering the big door to the King's Hall of Helm's Deep, after returning from his fall, with the reaction most women have to it...😅
Eomer's call to the Rohirrim will never not give me chills. One of the most epic parts of the entire trilogy. "Not alone.......ROHIRRIM!!" Fucking awesome 👌
This was soooo epic in the cinema, the bass of the Horn shook the chairs. And the cinema experience is so emmerdive. I hope they run them again at some point, maybe remastered. I bet there is a huge old, intermediary, and new audience for it. Those that have seen it all before (and want to again, like me), those that only have never seen it in cinema and a new generation.
Totally agree with you. Saw it just after it was released in theaters with my friend. Whole movie was amazing especially this scene. Now, years later now that I'm 37 almost 38 in a few days, and losing loved ones, I get many of the quotes in these movies, like when Frodo wished the ring hadn't come to him and Gandalf said " So do all who live to see such times, but it is not up to them to decide. All you have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to you". Or when Frodo was saying as he was finishing that book just before Sam came in.
This trilogy is epic from start to finish. It's filled with glorious moments, endless battles, and wonderful, endearing characters. It's the best movie trilogy of all time...a masterpiece.
I remember the Return of the King video game recreated this scene for the tutorial level with Ian McKellan narrating and they had him give the "A Wizard is never late, he arrives precisely when he means to" line
I just realized something about Gandalf. He has the ring Narya which has the power to inspire others. It even gives the viewers of the movie inspiration and hope. All is about to be lost, the Orcs are banging down the door, there's hundreds if not even thousands outside. Gandalf doesn't even have to show his face for the viewers to be relieved. All we need is a bright window and his voice and we all know hell is coming for those Orcs and that those left in Helm's Deep are now safe
Low key, the best scene of the entire franchise. This is THE pivotal moment of the story. Théoden has grown to be my favorite character. A great but past his prime warrior king that after a moment if doubt, collects himself and summons, in the face of certain death, the strength for one last great battle. and he would have an encore later. Dude is boss lvl.
Something EVERYONE overlooks, Aragorn was aware of Gandalf's promise, King Theoden was not. Theoden was truly the greatest king, he rode to his death TWICE, for his people, and to help others. Such a great character, I thought he was the best King of them all.
Everyone has to stop saying Gandalf needs to hurry up or that he’s late. People, repeat after me. A wizard is never late. A wizard is never late, Frodo Baggins. Nor is he early. He arrives precisely when he means to.
Going back to the First Age, the Sun and Moon were created from the last remnants of the Two Trees, the only sources of light in all the world. They were slain by Melkor, the first dark lord, and Ungoliant, the mother of Shelob. All evil things hate their light, because in them is the light of the Trees. While Uruk-Hai can walk beneath them without being harmed, it's still something they hate deeply. But, Gandalf knows this, of course.
This charge and the charge in Return of the King both are based on a real CHARGE led by the POLISH WINGED HUSSARS in the battle to raise the siege of Vienna by the Ottoman Turks in the year 1683. It was the largest cavalry charge in Europe with over 13,000 troops
That is a rare gift! There are too few reactors that actually have that moment in their youtube edited reactions that's not just on their patreon, I think! I might be wrong, hopefully! Would there be enough to break the lines of Mordor?
How would you have liked to be there, at Vienna, watching the Winged Hussar cavalry charging down the mountain into the Islamic ranks. This really happened.
Tolkien based this scene in the book on the ride of the Winged Hassar in Vienna. When the Polish heavy cavalry saved the city that had been under siege for weeks.
Gandalf appearance is that of an old Wizard, but his real name is Olorin and he is of the Ainur, immortal spirits made of the thoughts of Eru Ilúvatar (Tolkien's God) before the creation of Arda (where Middle-earth is). Olorin took part in the Song of Creation (the Ainulindalë) in which Arda and everything on it were created. Olorin is the wisest of the Maiar, a suborder of the Ainur. In Tolkien's Legendarium he is over 61.000 years old. This is why the Elves hold him is such high regard, he is littarly one of their creators and they all know him from birth, so some if them have known him for 10.000 years or even more, by the time of LotR.
What people don't realize is that it is Gandalf using his magic to blind the orcs with light, the same way he broke the boulder to turn the trolls into stone, or when he blinded the Nazgul at the planes of Osgiliath. It is no mere coincidence.
I still maintain that Theoden's actions in this battle inspired Aragorn to accept his rightful place as king of Gondor. Theoden's willingness to fight and to die to protect his people from harm showed Aragorn an aspect of being a king he had not given much consideration to.
Sunlight hurts orks and makes them weaker except urukhai theyre immune that's why the others orks who took Mary and Pippin were complaining while the urukhai among them to told them to keep running
This is based on the charge of the Winged Hussars at the Battle of Vienna in 1683, the greatest cavalry charge in history. The Polish heavy cavalry, lead by King Sobieski, charged down off the slopes of Mount Kahlenberg and destroyed the Muslim Army of Grand Vizier Mustafa, saving all of Europe and Christianity from the Islamic horde.
You just had to be there, in the theatre, to understand the hype and emotion in this scene. When the horn of Helm Hammerhand sounds it brings me tears, even today. When Gandalf leads the charge I thought he cast a Light spell. It wasn’t until a few years ago I realized it was the sun rising.
Imagine you’re in a fight and you look over your shoulder and your boy that never lets you down is coming in swinging…. Now if we die we die together baby
when you watch this legendary trilogy...and then check out rings of power lmao, nothing will top how absolutely perfect this movie trilogy was and still is compared to nowadays standards.
In Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, a majority of the Riders of Rohan were women with fake beards in order to pass as men on the horses. They said in the behind the scenes that the horses were mostly owned by those women and they needed a lot of them in the film so they just cast the owners who could handle each horse well.
I love all of King Theoden’s speeches (all lotr speeches tbf). While charge of the Rohirin is monumentally epic, I equally enjoy his speech in the two towers, him realising that his final stand should not be for his own personal glory in death, but rather for his people combined with ;” Fell deeds awake” is just such a nerdgasmic badass thing to say
This reminds me of the famous scene in Band of Brothers when the M-4 Sherman tanks of the US 2nd Armoured Division arrive to reinforce the besieged Easy Company of the 101st Airborne Division.
I’ll never forget what it felt like in the theater during this and the Last March of the Ents scene. You could feel the collective goosebumps from everyone watching. This might as well have been The Last March of Classic Cinema.

Frodo, looking at the pile of dead people: "Ok Gandalf."

Strategic genius in most opinions. As well as an epic use of cinematography .

Rip Bernard Hill (King Theoden) one of fave scenes in Two Towers

It's based on an actual battle.
"Fell deeds awake! Now for wrath, now for ruin, and a red dawn! FORTH EORLINGAS!"

As the rohirim cavalry explodes into the uruk ranks the music is perfect ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Gandalf's warface is pretty freaking awesome.
I like how the 2 charges in two towers and return of the king, Theoden was always in front

It’s the horn for me. Just so good
The best thing about this series is, after reading the books many years ago, the movies were exactly what my mind pictured at the time.
Best thing about this scene is that it really happened IRL.
EOM Reacts brought it up too. I have always gotten chills every time Gimli blows the horn! :)
Modern translation the ''prepare for battle'' speeches:
''Dudes! Don your plot armor, pull out your swords and get ready to f*** shit up!'' Lol!
Don't forget the absurdly trite "let's goooo".
This is based on a real battle.
Can anyone begin to comprehend what it was like seeing this for the first time on big screen cinema?
How would you have liked to be there, at Vienna, watching the Winged Hussar cavalry charging down the mountain into the Islamic ranks. This really happened.
Of all the moments in the trilogy, this was my favorite.
Fell deeds awake; now for wrath! Now for ruin and the Red Dawn! *FORTH EORLINGAS!!!*
Tolkien based this scene in the book on the ride of the Winged Hassar in Vienna. When the Polish heavy cavalry saved the city that had been under siege for weeks.
And yes, they literally wore wings folks.
The hill is steep, but they are Rohirim, the Horselords. That hill isnt too much for them.
Look for the meaning of the word Epic and this scene shows up.
