Thanks so much for posting this. This may well cure the problem in my wife's Aygo as it's leaking water into the boot and collecting in the spare tyre well and making the rear passenger seat wet too.

Most common source of water in the boot (107/C1/Aygo) is through the rear stop light assembly (above the tailgate). The light is secured by 2 screws at either end - the foam gasket does not have much compliance and can easily "open up" at the mid point of the assembly as deteriorates with age and muck, and as it bows under screw pressure at the ends of the assembly. Water then gets in at upper mid-point of assembly & tracks internally along the roof/tailgate ridge, down the internal of the c-Panels & flows down behind the carpet side trims (suspension turret area). Replacement gaskets are not available, only complete light assembly (not that a new gasket would seal if the screws are overtightened anyway ! ). Remove the light assembly, clean and run a SMALL bead of silicone around the gasket perpihery. Re-attach to car, just enough so silicone squeezes out of mid-point of assembly - this indicates silicone has made contact all the way around periphery of assembly. Wipe of excess silicone with vinegar (if acetic acid cure), then leave to cure overnight. Once cured, tighten screws another 1/4 - 1/2 Turn and it will never leak again.

    Great video.
Just bought a 2008 Aygo for my missus. It leaks like a sieve in the boot. The tirewell had a puddle, the mat in the boot was saturated, the rear seat is soaked as is the rear footwells.I have made the dealer we bought it from sort this. He was clueless about it so I googled known faults and gave him a list to check, he rung today and said it was the high level brake light seal (one on order as we speak). Its amazing that the most expensive of the 3 cars (Aygo, C1 and 107) is the worst one for build!
    I have had a C1 from new, a 2010. I have done 120,000 miles in it and it hasn't missed a beat.
I have also seen from other forums/videos that there are a few other places these cars can leak from. I think that I am going to blitz it with sealant in all the places before we go out again.

+Richie Wisbey The leak via the high level brake light is very, very common. The manufacturers have changed the design of the seal, and I believe they have also revised the brake light itself (the issue with the original unit being that it flexes when the screws are tightened, thus causing the leak). My car (2009 C1) had the leak but I fixed it completely with a bead of silicone sealant on the OE seal + lamp unit - But I only tightened the screws finger-tight while the sealant cured, then nipped them up afterwards (but still made sure not to over-tighten). No leaks at all in the couple of years since I did it.

Where in the car is this located? Can you make another video showing clearly where it is and where the water is coming from? Spent months drying my Aygo out and she's soaked again after a single heavy downpour. :(

Another common place it can leak from is the top brake light (roof) rubber seals perish causing water to run down inside rear quarter panel by seat belt mounts into boot soaking very thing (Peugeot tech)

Out of interest as I've never heard of it before what is tiger sealing? Thanks

Philip Chamberlain It is what we use for bonding bodykits to cars, normal silicon will do the job for there.Paul

Might this be what is causing a water leak into the rear passenger footwell?

so are you saying take the sticker off or put it back?

I took the sticker off, and then tiger sealed a piece of solid plastic over it. Also tiger sealing under the wheel arch as well. I have also undersealed the whole car with 3 coat's of underseal, I have also found the car quieter as well. Paul

Yes i will do another video this week. And also put a video up that stops the door seals leaking for good and cuts the wind noise.

Nuttyprof11 Thanks, appreciate that! I managed to find where the seal is, it appears to be ok, there were no water marks visible there after a heavy downpour but the rear footwells were soaked. Still not sure where the leak is coming from. Hopefully your next vid will help! :)

Your leak is from the door seals replacement seals still leak. If it stops raining to day i wil show you the new seal,s cost £18.75 FOR BOTH doors.
