- 💧 This Toyota has a number of leaks, all in the back around the tailgate. This has caused water to leak into the boot and run down under the carpets. The damp has led to mould in various places in the car, which is evident on the head-lining.
There is a leak coming from the central brake light, the rubber stoppers are leaking. There is a leak from the lock mechanism, and in addition to this, the rubber that surrounds the boot is leaking (shown in a separate video). The rear vents are also leaking.
Solution: The rear vents are probably best replaced. We can refurbish all the rubber seals so they are clean and supple, and do the job they did when they were new. However, it might be best if we also put some sealant around them.
The car will need to be dried out, and we can treat the car with anti-microbial and antifungal disinfectant. Cleaning the mould off the roof could prove difficult at black mould stains. It would be up to the customer if they want to replace the headlining or live with some staining.

A: This isn't a DIY channel, we are sharing videos we take for the customer as part of our inspection process. Furthermore, the vast majority of the fixes are simple, and if you need to ask how to fix them, you probably should let a professional deal with it. See below:

⚡ Electricity and water is a dangerous combination. This is especially the case with electric and hybrid cars, but most modern cars have electronic control units in areas which are prone to water ingress. These are easily damaged and can be expensive to replace.
💥 Areas that need to be accessed to fix water leaks may contain airbags. These are explosive and can be quite sensitive. Tampering with them could lead to serious injury.
☣️ Cars that have been damp for a prolonged period often contain mould, mildew and dangerous bacteria. Mould spores can seriously affect the health of people with asthma, the old, very young, and people with compromised immune systems. Mould should always be taken seriously.

Great demonstrations (part 1 and 2) Really shows how the leaks are happening. I've taken care of all the sources of leaks on my daughters Citroen C1 except the door lock mechanism which is centrally locked. Before I take it apart can you tell me which part I should seal? There seems to be a small amount of water getting in around there, even when there's been over night frost/condensation on the outside never mind rain. Cheers mate

Ive got water building up on the box section above the boot lock, I'm baffled how its getting there, thats the only leak Ive got left
My back seat is wet and mouldy and it looks like the one near the boot lock but with so many to choose from i could be wrong !
Can I take this to dealership as my 2013 fire model is under warranty still? Is this problem a recall issue? Any costs do you think they will charge me?
This will not be a recall issue. Car manufacturers hardly ever recall cars if they can avoid it... even if maybe they should be. But cars do start to leak somewhere between 8-12 years old in our experience.
Will they fix it under warranty? They might do, they might argue it's a maintenance issue. You can but ask.
The thing is, you need to get all the leaks fixed, and then you need to get the car dried. What dealerships will generally do, if they do this properly, is strip the car out and hang the carpet up to dry. However, it is more likely they will offer you a valet and spray some air freshener in there.
It is important that the job is done properly because even if you stop the leak, the water in the car causes mould, corrosion and electrical problems down the line.

I would suggest you talk to them and get an estimate before they begin. Make sure you know what you are getting and how long it will take, because if they charge you, dealership hourly rates can be painful.
@@newagainautoreconditioning thanks for advice my car is 2013 model aygo I've had it since last June and under warranty. Had diagnosis last Oct for the gears making a roaring noise previously and they couldn't find any fault in the car. I'm worried it would be a waste of time and will have to take it to a garage privately?
@@bossplaytv4077 Well, it's not unheard of for cars to come to us from the dealerships after they have tried and failed. We have one in the workshop at the moment.
I bought Aygo from 2012 I have the same problem what is strange that water is behind the driver on passenger seat floor but in the right side next to tunnel. How to fix it?

I used to drive a 2010 4 door (5 if you count the back as a door, which I do.) gasoline fueled Aygo model. One morning without any heavy rain the passenger side front seat floor was flooded with about half an inch (1.3 centimetres) of water. I bet it was a pissed off neighbour who stuck something in through the seals to flood water into it because he felt entitled to a free for all parking spot at the side of a street next to his home. This was at an apartment complex. Just wondering if someone could push a hose or a pipe through the seals of a front door on that years model of a Toyota Aygo to cause damage to their interior. No longer have the car, a subhuman junkie smashed it's windows and spray painted it with pictures of cocks and pussies, along with their own initials. Dumbass was my neighbour and got caught instantly.
