the same here, i believe it’s a rust due to common leaks from behind (3 rear lights and under bumper) which give water inside and it’s evaporating later , increasing overall internal humidity and later condensing somewhere on the top. i believe other metal around is non-rusting, that’s why we see it only there on the lamp.
i just sealed all rear holes with neutral silicone (thx to your videos!) and ordered unrusted used lamp lol

Yeah, It's most likely a water leak from the aerial. The water may loosen up some of the grass that ends up in the interior light. Leaks from the aerial are pretty common on this car's, it happened to me too.

Leaking thru antenna take off. Scrape off and clean . Then only use ( black sealant glue) as it will never go hard and fail... im a trianed coach builder... we used other colours and after a few months the seal failed . And then let water in

Can you do a quick video of where you place jack stands on ur car. I have noticed on other videos you don’t use the manual specified jacking points. Would be useful to know for my aygo! Thanks!!!

I have same problem. Toyota Aygo 2006. Always after rain. That light housing fills with water and drips out! So i have just used some silicone bath sealant (very small amount) on the exterior roof where the base of the arial sits - by forcefully lifting up by 1mm and applying and pushing in the sealant all the way around. Have to wait for more rain to see if it worked lol.

Same here. After all this rain we have had with storm ciara i actually had a little puddle by the gear stick. Gunna do this sealant thing on the weekend, did it work for you?

At 2:41 you see where the water has dripped down from the antenna.
Unscrew the antenna and apply butylrubber between the roof and outside part of the antenna. Then put all back again and you dont get more water in the Car 👍

Actually in my Citroen c1 there was a water leak. I power washed it once and water drained through the antenna. This water picks up the grease and lets it stay in the lamp. I fixed it with silicon, cleaned the lamp and never happened again. Cheers

How did you clean the lamp?

Do you just get a sealant and put it around the aerial base? Which sealant did you use? I’ve discovered on my aygo I now have the same problem. Water everywhere!

Where exactly do you seal this

Where do you seal this? On the base of the aerial on the roof or on the inside?

@@HBK180IGSE On the roof is where I put the silicone and it did the job

Hi, i have leakage coming from antenna on the top. i need to remove and seal to fix it .
I go to wash my car , forget to stuck the antenna .........
I need to open to fix, do you know the size of the nut ?
    Thks

Yes I think this happened to me too. Washing the car without antenna in (like at a car wash) and the water runs down into the antenna housing and through to the inside - reaching the interior light. Not a good conclusion but I think technically not leaking. It’s size 10 socket you need.

That’s not brown grease on the connectors 😂 that’s the same brown rusty residue, like inside the light lense.

Have the exact same thing in my Aygo.
Recently after heavy rain all night I jumped in my car and started to drive off, water then pissed out of the light and onto my lap.... heard that the water could have somehow travelled from the top rear brake light?

It can, but I believe in my case it it the aerial leak
