- Toyota Aygos, Citroen C1s and Peugeot 107s are know for leaking through the tail lights, stop light, hatch seal, antenna and the vents behind the rear bumper.
I did the stop light last year, but as you will see, there is still water coming in. I sealed the tail lights with window/door sealing stip - that's what I had :)
And I cleaned and sealed the seal around the hatch.
I also gave the antenna some sealant.
All seals then had some silicone to improve the seal and to avoid them freezing to the doors/hatch.
Oh! ..and Mercedes drivers does not like to be overtaken by an Aygo :D :D :D
Light car on winter tyres is a lot more fun than a big merc on summer tyres, when there is fresh snow on the road :D Авто/Мото
Thank you for the video. I sealed only the stop light with waterproof silicon , a few years ago, and never had any leaking problems since then . Toyota Aygo 2007.
The little rubber button just above the tail light is also a problem, cured by a bit of silicon .
Nice one Just what I was looking for. Thank you
Excellent video same problem Toyota ago 2008 will get the gasket you used 👍
Same issue with my C1 👍
Ordinary sealant will fail...as not for outside use . Temp changes will cause it to go brittle...use stilafix... or similar sealant glue... ( im a coach builder)
No you ain't as any silicone will work as it's water resistant mate I'm a window fitter you aint not builder obviously don't use caulk
Thanks for the video. Just what I was looking for as well. I was wondering what stuff you are using in between the new ( window) seal at 6,17 min and what are you using in the hatch seal 7.58 min. Thank you !!
For the tail lights I used som instant gasket :)
And for the window seal I used some cheap sealant. (Next time I will use some good silicone sealant)
Hello,
can you please tell me what kind of tape you were using? What is it called and where can I buy it (Europe) Regards
Hi,
It was normal window and door sealing strip. I got it from Lidl :)
Probably not the best, but it worked.
I would recommend to find something a little thicker, so that you only have to apply it to the light.
What's the liquid silicone in the jar with the brush? Where did you get it? Thanks
I brought it with me from Denmark, i haven't really seen it anywhere in the UK.
We used it in the winter to keep water off the seals, so they won't freeze to the car/doors. But also to keep the seals soft and working.
@@mischiefgarage8882 OK, no worries, thanks for the reply.
use gummi pflege for seals available ebay etc
I have the same car, same color, same problem 😆
