this might just be because of my lack of playing ability but I've always preferred James' slower more feeling packed lead parts. the outlaw torn outro is packed with feeling.
eh, when people say "feeling" all thats just subjective, to me feeling is insanely fast riffs and solos because that gets my blood pumping, that i can actually feel, dont get me wrong there is stuff to be appreciated with slower more melodic playing but if i had to take a bluesy solo or an insanely fast solo, im taking the fast one 100%
@@iamme4184 it's power vs emotion. In my 32 years being a metal barely anyone can shred something emotional. The slower it is and the more the notes breath, the more emotional they are. Power and emotion are both very FEELY, so you're correct
James is undoubtedly one of the greatest rhythm guitarists in all off rock and metal but he can do some damn good leads when he wants, keep rocking Papa Het
James’ Live Die solo is my second favorite one ever, and so incredibly underrated. You do a better job than most at imitating it, though I’ve never really heard anyone totally nail it. There’s so much pathos and emotion in it, it’s a tear-jerking 30 seconds.
Honestly I have to say, I feel like these leads would be better suited to intermediate players as I think beginners would struggle with them a bit. Great video though!
I love James leads and solos and riffs and It might not be the speed solos of Kirk or some other lead players. But to say that they are "easy" or beginner friendly i don't know.
Doesn’t matter how easy , it’s about what sounds good, and fits the music, Hetfield is a big advocate of this attitude, he has always said Megadeth and many other bands try to be to technical and complex, it’s all about the sound and the music
Kirk: Diddling with random scales, arpeggios, with Wah-Wah, some tapping and 3rds with Wah-Wah... Then adds more Wah James: Melodic solos, with just feeling.
Thanks alot brother! Could you please show how to play kirk hammett's solo parts of "suicide & redemption, and no remorse" someday? Thank you again, keep up the good work 🤘🇹🇷
Outlaw torn is def a standout on an already strong album. This detail doesn't appear here but I really love the feedback-induced note that comes in right before the solo (tho I always play it as a harmonic)... the five (Bb) is being played via a full bend from Ab (e.g. 5:45), and its fifth (F) swells in before Hetfield's groovy outro solo kicks in
I'm glad you didn't include the first guitar solo from Orion just before the bass solo. A lot of people credit James with that solo because of a misunderstanding in the liner notes, but that solo is definitely Kirk.
When you get to that level of playing you can’t say who’s better between Kirk and James,or James and Dave,or Kirk and Kiko, just what style you prefer, there is no “best” guitarist
great video! however, you cut the outlaw torn where it ends on the album. there's a little bit of extra lead at the end of the single version, where it doesn't fade out. liked and subbed ^^
I’m not a hundred percent sure I think that solo is James. There’s a ton of stuff online saying it is. Now weather he plays it live is a different question. The one time they play To Live is To Die live, Kirk played his solo for some reason.
Sick video! I did notice that the James master of puppets solo is a bit different than the one I'm learning? Where are these tabs from, I'm learning from Songster, which seemed pretty legit.
Hey could you do a gallop rhythm tutorial in the future? I just don't get it, only when doing it slowly, but it's just as hard to do naturally as doing solos, imo. My cryptonite besides sweeping
Awesome video, Ibrahim. As always. Hetfield is my favorite guitarrist for many reasons. A question: In some tabs, for example The Ecstasy of Gold, there are some numbers inside circles. Can you please tell me what's the meaning of them?
Dude, i have a serious question, whenever I record myself playing my hand on the fretboard it looks horrible, I've tried a lot to fix it and I can't find information on this subject, but seeing you playing I can't believe it looks so good, I wanted to know if you went through the same thing or it worked out for you natural, and if so, how can I fix it? PD:This Is not hate but the thumbnail says Hetfied and not Hetfield, anyway good playing man!
Thanks I changed the thumbnail I studied classical guitar at University and it helped very much, my fingers was flying before, I did the basic 1234, 1324... etc. exercises every day for a year, slowly keeping them in the correct position by carefully following the movements of the fingers. Nowadays actually I feel my fingers about to fly again I need to do that exercies again
so as i thought... 10 lead parts... when?! then there was covers, and overdubs by Kirk. and even A couple of RIFFs that was put as a lead :D i'm mad at myself that i get caught on clickbait, knowing what was going to be about :D
Hi Fren, 2 questions.. what gear do you use to get those sounds? They’re spot on.. any patches? Also.. where do you get those backing tracks? Cheers mate keep rocking

Thanks a lot
I will watch both to beat the system
this might just be because of my lack of playing ability but I've always preferred James' slower more feeling packed lead parts. the outlaw torn outro is packed with feeling.
Second that, Hetfields lead stuff is so damn groovy ans feely
Thirded! I started playing at around age 13 because of Kirk's leads - continued playing because of James. Fury and feeling in a single player 🤘🤘

James is just a way better musician than kirk by a long stretch

James' solo on To Live is to Die is so emotional.

Same!
Justice for Jason
@@JimmyKilmisterkinda dumb statement since Jason says the way the album sounds is the way it's meant to be.
@@GamerNXRWrong. The planet has proven its merit time and time again. What does a pawn say to the revolving truth?
Nothing.
Justice For Jason.
Should've included the faster James solo from Suicide and Redemption. That's one of my favorite Metallica lead parts.
Very underrated solo from him after great build up
I love it when rhythm players take up the lead work and interpret it in their own way. James is a such an awesome player.
Had no idea that first solo in puppets was hetfield. It’s actually my favorite of the song. 🤘

Chad like behavior for not only doing the list and sounding great but also putting tabs up. Kudos to you dude.
Great stuff..not only for begginners I bet..they are such great lines...though simple enough..that's what makes a musician, so big!
9:33 one of the most beautiful melodies…
For me the Fight Fire harmony solo should be in here! 🤘👍
Honestly I have to say, I feel like these leads would be better suited to intermediate players as I think beginners would struggle with them a bit. Great video though!
was thinking the same thing but metallica kinda doesn’t have any leads that are super easy.
Why did you assume they would be easy? Lol Theres nothing about this video that states their beginner lead riffs
@@BucNasT the title used to say easy beginner leads, got changed
@@BucNasT my thoughts too
@@BucNasT Actually the title was "10 James Leads For Beginners" then I chanced the title, thats why they comment this way
Riff Lord! Long Live James! What a great artist. Those solos are deep and strong, slowly killing.. his soul is on every piece
..so our souls
I love Metallica to death what they did for music is incredible 🤘🏻🤘🏻
The harmonies in blackened are soooo catchy!
I didn't know that part from My Friend Of Misery was James'... Great job, thank you for including some newer stuff as well!
They both play it at the same time. Kirk is at a higher octave though. They've done that many times.
Me either. James wrote this solo ???
This video is like you asked me what would I like to learn next, wow, I'm beginner and I want to play easy metallica riffs, thank u🎸♥️
This Guy learned me guitar better, already years and now im a metal guitarist!

mashallah ibrahim back with another banger, literally making me want to scream watching you play!!!!!
James could have been a great lead player if he wanted to. He’s so precise. I would like to see him do more
Awesome video , finally someone who teach the leads from James ,THX for the great video and great playing
You got to show us how to get that beautiful tone brother. It's absolutely magical
Thanks alot brother! Could you please show how to play kirk hammett's solo parts of "suicide & redemption, and no remorse" someday? Thank you again, keep up the good work 🤘🇹🇷
It's no coincidence that some of these are my favorite songs
James is so underrated man
Outlaw Torn ❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥One of the greatest songs of all time, how underrated
great video! I'm gonna sit in my room and learn all of these now
I might be mistaken but the solo at the end of the harmony part of orion is written by JH too
Now that we're dead and Outlaw Torn sounds quite familiar. Never noticed before. Great playing as usual man!
He lets Kirk do the leads because he doesnt wanna steal the show

The fact that the world's best rhythm player can still do a bit of lead is unreal
My friend of misery is so very underrated. It's the best Metallica song.
Something sounded wrong on Blackened - I could hear the bass guitar parts?
James does the 2nd guitar solo in Orion doesn’t he? The one right before the bass solo
That’s Kirk. 👍🏼

I'm sorry but obviously "the ecstasy of gold" is not by Hetfield but by Morricone. just to clarify
I never knew hetfield had so many leads.
There's more than these here! 👍
I appreciate the audible Bass on the Justice tracks

Fucking Orion is to me Metallica's most powerful composition ever. So much emotion in that song.
James is great.
Orion slow part full composed by Cliff. Cliff also wanted to record it all on bass. But friends stopped him. James only record it.
Thanks for info
As rarely as they play it live they should have let him
Love it!
Do Avenged 7X!

Ecstasy of Gold solo sounds like Legend of Zelda
very cool
That moment when I realized this soundtrack (0:42) is from one of the soundtracks in the movie "Spongebob SquarePants: Sponge out of the water"
It's originally from the Good the Bad and the Ugly, an old Clint Eastwood western. At least I think so
Maybe Kirk should write the riffs and James the solos
Thats not bad ideia, Kirk wrote some of the best riffs in Metallica
