After years of listening to metal music and got to know a lot of amazing guitar player, I know that Kirk is not the best in term of skills and techniques. But listening to this is kind of bring me back to the root of where I start or why I love metal music and play guitar. Maybe Kirk is not known as the best of all the time, but he is the reason why so many people in this world start to play guitar. Kirk Hammett and Metallica will always have special place in my heart! If you thought kirk hammet wrote the solo for ride the lighting and kill em all. You lived a life of ignorance. It was the writing of Dave Mustane. Any solo after those album was kirk. One of the most killer ones he ever did was 'The Struggle Within'. Sick stuff. He also has a bunch if memorable and tasty jams off the Load/ReLoad albums but the eletists won't admit it.

I always thought The Frayed Ends of Humanity has one of the most underrated solos, and the riff that leads up to it is epic. Unfortunately it gets lost in all the other songs in that album.

The God That Failed with the sliding octaves and the Harmony on My Friend of Misery are some of the best work Kirk ever done And the Disposable heroes is incredible with the speed and intricacy of the fret work, not to mention Kirk learned and performed 10+ of speediest solos in about a month??? The Kill Em All solos are by no legendary stuff, but it's iconic as fuck
