I'm Pete and I play music! Having fun with metal guitar doing everything from modern metal, extended range 7 strings and 8 strings to thrash metal on a good old 6 string. Riffs in the styles of other bands, shredding and lots of fun with metal music!

I don't think St Anger really needs fixing, I enjoy it. This is just for fun :)
Thanks to Harley Benton for sponsoring the video, check out the guitar here: bit.ly/3Ua2xtG
And special thanks to Otu for the vocals, check out his channel here: www.youtube.com/@moonicproductions
Agreed. The songs are banger. Lots of RUclipsrs have fixed the drum sound and mixing and boom. Rifftastic awesomeness :)
Aside from the snare sound on the original I would agree it's not that bad. That being said I think you've got the best version of Frantic that I've heard so far!
St anger was dogshit
ruclips.net/video/A0helO5KHKY/видео.htmlsi=N6KM2VxFWzbf7Gvl
I agree, St. Anger is a great album in it's own way and has a lot of awesome songs, Frantic being maybe my favorite (either that or My World), but you did an awesome reimagining of it that's just as great! Love that you got Otu to do vocals, he does such an awesome young Hetfield style.
St. Banger
St. [b]Anger*
At.Snger!
ruclips.net/video/A0helO5KHKY/видео.htmlsi=N6KM2VxFWzbf7Gvl
lol 😂 ST. Anger Lars proves how much he sucks on drums
@@jessetate9701Don’t be stupid.
Wohoo! Thanks for having me on the video dude 🤟
You were sick dude! Great job!
Killed it as always. 🤘🏼
you are the current youtube metal GOAT. i love all your stuff.
You killed it my dude!
You nailed the early hetfield. Awesome job!
If you wanna hear how St. Anger sounded, watch the DVD that came with the CD.
So true
i agree that performance on the dvd shouldve been the album
Correct
YUP. That live performance at HQ should have been what was on the CD as well. Sooooooo good.
Right. This Version so much better.
More appropriate title: "Polishing a turd."
You can't have a Metallica song without the customary "Yeah". That verse riff was fire.
Not if it’s a Master of Puppets track.
He did at 3:51
It actually just Ride Lightning verse riff faster with gallooping. you could even sing "guilty as charged.." and so on
The vocals are amazing, pretty surprised by the talent of those guys ! :)
absolutely. agreed.
Yes guys 👊🏼👊🏼 This colab was brilliant. Please do more. & a great reimagining of this song.
This sounds like it belongs on Death Magnetic. Loved it
Glad I'm not the only one who thought that. Shoulda shelved this song and brought it out in 08.
Anything after I disappear was terrible
@@jermalshemism3367 I like "Spit Out The Bone" and "Too Far Gone".
@@jermalshemism3367- death magnetic is fantastic, hate on hardwired all you want. Or 72 seasons. But death magnetic was redemption.
Agreed! Like a My Apocalypse type of song.
You two need to collab more often .This was fucking Awesome
I second this, totally agree - we need more of the collab!
@@szabolcsrapp4279 I third, fourth and fifth this!! 👍👍
So I sixth it
@@blazeweber 👍👍LOL!!
@@blazeweber I now Seventh it! 🤗
Nah nah nah nah nah nah!!
you nailed it guys. Unbelievible, good production also.
No E or Eb, no solos, no wah, no normal snare, no melodies, no ballads, no alcohol, no vocal restraint, no Jason, no clear cd case, let's go!
Dude killed it on vocals!
In case you didn't already know! www.youtube.com/@moonicproductions
Great job, and massive shout for Otu, what a legend he is!
This is so cool! I really enjoyed your version. Congrats
Amazing job!
Everybody talks about the snare or the lack of guitar solos of that album, but the real problem with the St. Anger is, the songs are too long, if they where between 3 to 4 minutes no one would have complained, it's just that they are too monotonous to last more than 6 minutes.
Listen to the St. [b]Anger version, he shortened the songs and even added some neat soloing.
Cheers from France! 🍻
@@DarthWinterMadness Yeah, I have listened that and is far better, also Pete did a great job in his video.
From watching Some Kind of Monster I think this album was doomed from the start. They just weren’t in the right mindset, there was too much meddling (at some point their psychiatrist was even giving input ffs), Jason was gone and Bob Rock did a terrible job as a producer.
Pete the majority of us need the album entirely fixed. Awesome job dude🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤣🤣🤣
Don't care about the rest but that snare was HIDEOUS.
Holy fuck... I imagine how I would have teared down the walls of my room back in 2003 if this had been the original opener of the new Metallica-release. Great work!
It's really a piece of very good work, dude, I'd love to hear the whole St Anger from you. Maybe I would finally enjoy it. Listening to this performance gives me a lot of pleasure. Congratulations
I think the actual fix it needed is... Well, the songs being too long, and what I mean by long, is the feeling. Some songs felt like they never end
This. Most of the tracks would be twice as good if they where half as long.
Except All within my hands. That should be removed completely.
@@johnnyhellstrom7121 *St. [b]Anger has entered the chat*
This has been tallica's problem for the last twenty years. Some interesting riffs and ideas but everything outstays it's welcome. Particularly as their whole style has drifted towards a punkier style. If you're not going to write in an epic style, don't make the sense an epic length. Was the same with Pantera's final album.
@@edwardchester1 Another problem I think Metallica have had for the longest time is starting songs. Death Magnetic, Hardwired and 72 Seasons all have songs that take far too long to get to the vocals.
Have they made an album since where the songs didn't feel/were too long though?
That was… wild. Way better than I’d hoped, and I actually love the original. Well done!
Really? The original is a horrible song I’d be glad to never hear again
@@heresjohnny999 You actually took time to write out this pointless comment?
Why? 🤦🏻♂️
@@bullstaff4406 how is it more pointless than your comment? It's just an opinion
@@heresjohnny999 if I throw a stick, will you go away?
@@bullstaff4406Why did you bother responding if you feel it's a pointless comment? That's the real question. Side note the original is terrible by every possible way to look at it. Bad music, bad vocals, terrible lyrics, critically panned, makes load look heavy. It has no redeeming qualities.
I've never been able to finish a song from that album, i got to the end of this and enjoyed it. Well done👍
Yall sounded awesome
friggin epic! kudos from NC dudes!
that whole album sounds like a demo
Love the colab with Otu!
That was awesome
Awesome Job!!!
Have you ever thought of doing popular metal songs in the style and production of St Anger?
Hahaha, I have but, do people really want that? Maybe I should try it sometime :)
@@peteplaysmusic despite not liking St. Anger, I'd like to see some stuff from Black Album, a piece praised by the high level of music engineering, in this style (WITH THAT SNARE)
Pls no.
@@peteplaysmusic Well, St. Anger style fits well the songs that were made that way, but playing Slayer, Pantera, Death Metal or whatever in this style would be terrible
would be interesting, something like chop suey in st. anger style xD
Fun fact for those that don't know, the album has multiple tunings. Most common is Drop-C but there are a couple in Drop-A# and only one in Drop-G
The opposite of a drop, would that be called a lift? Like lift F, for instance?
It is like this: All Drop C except Drop G# on Invisible Kid, Drop A# on The Unnamed Feelings and Drop C# on Dirty widow
Make this a thing @@mrc25381
The best tuning is Drop Sh.
Amazing! Well done!
Sick !!!
There was a guy who remastered that whole album.
Daryl Gardner
There is also Todd Barriage who made a EP with 4 songs, and I must say, they are slapping hard. Have a look
there is also a rerecording
Two guys)
But didn't realise it beyond RUclips ((
I find that remaster worse
It's perfect! Keep it up Pete 🤘🏻
Dude that was killer!!very nicely done!!
Great job guys. Good fun
O.M.G! This finally sounds as it always should!!! You guys nailed it, yeaaaaahhhh!!!🤘🤘🤘🤘
Sounds great. And thank you for fixing the snare.
Awsome. Love it 👌
sick vocals. excellent singer. and suddenly the middle section/guitar solo sounds like Mercyful Fate. excellent.
I think we could say "The thing that should have been" ? 😋
Pure Banger 🤘🤩🤘 Thanx a lot Pete & Otu !
The thing that should’ve been…EPIC!!! 😅😂
That replay button is getting hammered! You both absolutely nailed this!
Wow, sounds amazing!!
AWESOME
I like this version more than the original. The higher tones feel like a metal blade is cutting through wood like a knife through butter. Smoothly and precisely. Both thumbs up for this one! \m/
Love this version so much \m/ great job dudes!
I think you did a awesome job! The vocals were spot on, and your playing was phenomenal! Great way to start a Saturday morning!
Thanks! :)
Sick!
Friggin' SICK job boys! Subscribed.
You're so talented thank you Harley for the vocals just awesome thanks.
His name is Otu though. Harley Benton is the guitar brand.
@@erlannderrantem6972 Thanks for the correction!
Amazing
This was really awesome! 🤟🏼
Jeez this is super cool dude! I love it!
Still I'm glad we have this song the way it is on the album =D
That album's tone decisions were oozing with character, and not just your mundane forgettable every other day tones/timbres
That guitar sounds badass!
and guitar snobs say affordable guitars are just firewood.....
Looks amazing too.
That was soooo good
thats cool, like it !
That guitar is gorgeous 😻
St Banger is the official remix in my mind
Thank you, sir!
Beautiful!!
Brilliant 🤘👍
MY BOY OTU!!!!! YEEHAWW!!!!
What a great collab, and a really good re-imagining of the song, thank you.
Great work, man! Otu, too!
Very cool. I really enjoyed this!!
St. Anger is one of my favorite albums ever for my own reasons. But I love hearing everyone's different takes on what it would sound like it if sounded... better
I love the snares but most people hates them
And it's my very personal album too. Not everyday album, and this album still killer
I love St Anger and for me I think it boils down to timing I was too young to really connect with anything before St Anger and just the tone and style of that album really hit me because of where I was in my life ... Metallica for the most part has always had a sound that was essentially controlled chaos like it may have been loud and fast but it was always precise and felt like every note was exactly where it needed to be ... St Anger was like anxiety it felt unhinged like something was broken like everyone just snapped and you go back and watch and read things about where the band members were in their personal lives and it makes sense
Keep searching part was amazing
Nice job guys!
Great!!
Dunno why but I laughed every time the singer looked at the camera.
Same
Massive improvement. Kudos.
Nice work, liked the vocals too!
That last riff....I could listen to an entire song based around that riff alone!
Good thing you got rid of the searching, they did enough of that on Seek & Destroy.
Dude 😂
I wouldn't have used my copy of that cd for target practice if had sounded like that. ❤🔥🍻
NICE! Seriously well done, mate!
Nice. Well done.
That was vastly superior in my opinion. If Metallica is struggling with a song they should start going to you for aid.
That was a massive improvement. Really enjoyed it.
Excellent 👌
Much better man. Great job!
Thank God! We finally have a guitar solo!
This version makes the original sound way better now. Thanks for unspoiling the original one. 😂
Yep. original much better!
Naw this is way better it actually sounds like thrash. The original frantic is trash 🗑️
I also agree that the original sounds way better, i also love the “keep on searching” part the most actually
Brilliant! (both of you!)
this is amazing!!!!
You can't fix what's not broken
I like your version better
Sounds wonderful, i like it!
Yeeeeeaaaaahhhhhh!! That was awesome. You both did that song Justice!!!
Nope! Sorry, bro, but love St. Anger as it is.
Yeah, I don't get the haters, they want it to blend in with other forgettable mundane metal mixes.
@@waranghiramy wife loves Metqllica but cannot listen to St Anger because Bob Rock’s mix of it literally gives her vertigo and she gets pale. And as a drummer, I cannot stand the folding metal chair sound.
Watching this video made it possible for us to both enjoy the riffage. So. There’s that.
So that we are clear, the songs are fine. I am fine with the Symphony 2 version, live versions, etc.
@@KitWriter Then it is good for people like your fam that there are remixes and re-recorders.
While other people as well are happy with the uniqueness and cathartic-aduial-violence of the original.
They just tried to rip off system off a down toxicity
You turned it into a casual home made recording. The snare, drop C, and no solos, (and also the physical human no quantize performance) where what made this record so special. The concept was to sound like a local band playing in their Garage live.
So it was supposed to sound like shit? I guess they achieved that goal.
Awesome!!!
Brilliant!
Yea, I didn't like the different tuning. the tempo seemed quicker even. I can understand what you were trying to do cutting out portions of the song, but you also lost something important. I'd say try it again.
In my top five Metallica albums and top 100 of all for me. No guitar solos was refreshing.
I genuinely enjoy the album. It's not my favourite but, I still think it has song good riffs :)
Same same. St Anger is always a good listen. I’d take it over And Justice For All and Ride the Lightning tbh
@williammansfield686 yeah dude, the production of ajfa really annoys me and although many of the songs are some of Metallicas best, sound like ass on that album
@@patrickwilliamson29 that's why I prefer AJFA fan mixes / bass covers to the real thing. Audible bass would've made the album arguably Metallica's best (IMO)
YES!!
Dude, awesome......loved it
Your version is OK, but still I love The original more.
Daryl Gardner has the full thing with normal drums but other than that the same sound and amazing vocals. Check it out. It's called st anger hq stereo mix or something
I have to agree. You did good work . But the original ❤.
St Anger is horrible
lol how anyone could like it is beyond me
St Anger sucks
Cool! 🤘👍
Sweet!
Killer! Great job!
