    Hey Ricardo, I'm somewhat confused, what is similar to the to a 2 guard open? So are you saying if i get the 1/16 speedo guard, and put it on my clipper with the lever open is that 1.5 + 0.5 = as a 2 closed or open?

    Ok first thanks for the video. Now base on how the guards are set up the seep-o #2 (3/16)cut less than the magnetic #2 (2/8)so it can be considered a 11/2 (if you mainly use the magnetic guatds) in between the 1/8 and 2/8 magnetic guards base on how you set them up? If this makes sense ,if I understand correctly.

    I use the speed o guides. How do I get rid of the half blade line? When I do a zero fade, and cut a half (open blade) an inch above it. How do I get rid of this line? A #1 doesn't get rid of it entirely.

    Appreciate the vid, Rick. I too have the magnetics I recently purchased as well as the original speed-o-guides. I found that the speed-o-guides sometimes clip on wrong? The metal clip piece slips on the fixed housing base on the clipper as opposed to the movable piece. I use the Andis Masters but also have the Wahl Seniors (which I hardly use anymore) It would be great if you could post on how to clip on the speed-o-guides properly. No one on youtube has a tutorial on speed-o-guides (how to properly clip). When the speed-o-guides do work (clip on right), I find I prefer their cut a bit better, not sure why. However, the magnetics are fail and fool proof....they only go on one way and always work!

  • @xpcyberARP
    @xpcyberARP 7 лет назад

    Okay I've been cutting my hair for a year now with the Masters and purple guards I always have a problem blending with the order. From a 8 on top and mid skin fade. So you go from Clippers closed
    Clippers open
    #1 open
    #2 closed
    How do you get the number 1 open line out? Would it be number 1 closed? Or the #0 open? (1/16)And obviously the first line is to get the line out with Clippers with no guards.
    Sorry if I am not being clear enough
    AWESOME INFORMATIVE VIDEOS. I HAVE WATCHED SO MANY OF THEM FROM YOU

    • @kikado3
      @kikado3  7 лет назад +1

      It gets taken out by the 2 closed and blended further with the 1 open to fully erase the lines .

    wassup, well I was wondering bc I always use the purple guards and when I use a #1 open for a guideline and another guideline w a #2 open I don't know how to blend the line between #1 and #2. Bc the #2 closed still won't erase that line out, any tips? I was wondering if I used the red guards too bc since the red guard #2 is less that the purple #2 but idk if that'll work. Thanks bro

  • @dragonsniper503
    @dragonsniper503 9 лет назад +1

    Hey I have one more question...I have the purple gaurds now and just got the wahl 1 1/2 to better blend the 1 to the 2. Do you think any other speedo gaurds would help with blending? like the 1/32 or the 5/16 7.9 mm in speedo brand? do they help get inbetween where regular gaurds cant? thanks bud!

    • @kikado3
      @kikado3  9 лет назад

      Nope. 1/32 is completely useless and 5/16 would be just a regular speedo guard used as your 3 guard. You do not need either of those guards

    Hey man I got a question. I am having a very difficult time finding the double magnet guards that you have because they've made these new single magnet guards. Is there any difference in hold or quality between the two, or does it not matter how many magnets are on them? Cute kid by the way, little man is very active lol

    • @kikado3
      @kikado3  9 лет назад

      I found them at Sally's and everywhere on eBay. I'm sure the 1 magnet edition has a stronger magnet on it. Either way the hold is strong because it's a rare earth magnet that's installed on them. Thanks for the comment on my little boy lol

    • @osvaldosantiago6543
      @osvaldosantiago6543 8 лет назад

      I notice there is a difference between the one magnet vs the 2 magnets. The one magnets are more thicker compare to the double magnet. also the nano guards with the two magnets are easier to maneuver and leave a better looking fade . But
      like you said, can't find them any where. If you find a website that have them in stock plz let me know.

    • @rafa16ari24
      @rafa16ari24 8 лет назад

      the double magnet are far better, Andis just started making them again, give them a call to order some

  • @matthewmleal325
    @matthewmleal325 8 лет назад

    that being said fading with the red guards compared to the stock wahls obviously on a wahl senior for example ..wouldn't the fade come out nicer with the wahl guards? being it has those extra 1 and a half and 1 sixteen guard ..

    • @kikado3
      @kikado3  8 лет назад

      +Matthew Leal actually would be exactly the same. The wahl guards need those extra guards because the gaps between the blade the one and the 2 are very far apart. The speedo guards are equally the same distant apart and naturally smaller. A fade with a 2 on top with the wahl guards require 4 of them. The speedo guards require only 2 guards for that same fade. The only difference will be that the speedo fade will make the top of the haircut 1/16th shorter than the wahl guards.

    @RicardoTheBarber is the speed o guards 00 and 0 respectively equal to the wahls 1/16 and 3/16 blending guards. I was wondering bc those from wahl are flimsy and the teeth bend so i was planing on using the 00 and 0 speed o guards in conjuction with the wahls 1 guard and 2 guard but since they are diff company and even tho technically have listed the same mm length wasnt sure if mix matching the 2 would result in diff spots of hair length

    Hi I got a question. I was wondering if the andis magnetic guards will work with the wahl seniors clippers and if so will it cut about the same length as the original wahl guards or what do you think.. I'm trying to find some good guards for the wahl seniors. I been using wahls for a long time and like them but I need some good guards to go with them. I just bought the Oster 76ers but not used to them yet but sure like the cut. So smooth. Please let me know. Thx

      I did find the andis magnetic guards that do fit the wahl seniors and osters 76ers but not as accurate with length of the guards sizes. A little disappointed but it's ok. I'll try and find some guards with the accurate length in guard sizes. If you have any ideas or know of any please let me know. Thx. Keep up the good work.

    Hey man, does the purple guard #1 cut longer or shorter than the wahl guard #1?

  • @joseloco5232

    hi there, those red "universal" type guards, do they fit easily on every clipper? thanks

  • @manuelethridge5438
    @manuelethridge5438 7 лет назад

    In other words if I was fadeing with these clips it would go in this order ( 1/2 guard or 1/16 magnetic guard) (1 guard or 1/8 magnetic guard) (speed-o guard 3/16) and then #2 magnetic guard 2/8

    Ricardo what's the difference between cutting hair against the grain versus towards the grain?

    • @kikado3
      @kikado3  10 лет назад +1

      Against the grain is for one desired length being clean cut. With the grain will leave hairs long and short hairs and mainly for clients with waves.It takes down the hairs that pop up.

    Isn't the wahl 1 and 2 the same size as the purple magnetic 1 and 2? If so why the need to have that wahl 1 1/2

    • @kikado3
      @kikado3  8 лет назад

      +barberjimz No not exactly.The wahl 1 is real small compared to the 2 guard. The 3/16th is def needed to help blend. The magnetic guards are all evenly spaced and the perfect distance apart from each other.

  • @Jaytwothreee_
    @Jaytwothreee_ 9 лет назад +1

    Can you use the 3/16 speed o guard in between the 1 magnetic guard and the 2 magnetic guard like the wahl system?

      Yes you can

      You can either contact andis directly or you can just visit their website andis.com. When you are on there website click on barbering and styling, i think thats what it's labeled as, and you will be provided with a search option. Just search magnet and they should be the first ones offered to you; don't search up andis nano magnetic guards because nothing will come up. Hope this helped.

    So a no.0 guard is basically halfway open with no guard? Then that means a no.0 guard all the way open is longer than a no.1 closed? that's kinda confusing lol

    i hate those speedo o guides with a passion i find they tug hair and shit ...my ultimate favorite ones to use are the ones meant for andis masters they dont say andis on em but the 1/16th guide i find is the best one i ever used hands down they fit pretty much every clipper except wahls ...theyre the ones that are black and have like a little metal thing that keeps them on the blade not like how the speed o guides are but think of the standard andis guides and how they have that little plastic flap that holds it on its like that but a little piece of metal im pissed sally's doesnt carry them in need of a new 1/16th

  • @1choc324

    • @kikado3

      Its equivalent to a 1/32". Basically its like the reqular clipper blade half open and it typically useless.
