I feel yea im at 400 miles with a failed head. They put a new head and head gasket it and its still failing. Im just going to work on it myself and get the bugs worked out myself. Its sucks and there customer service sucks.
This industry is TERRIBLE about QC and warranty. My neighbor had a 22 Pro R that chucked a rod at just under 500 miles. Dealer tried to get Polaris to warranty an obvious defect and they gave him the middle finger, saying he over-revved it. He ended up selling it to the dealer and getting hosed on the deal, he bought a krx and hasnt been happier. Sucks to hear about your problems with the Mav R, hopefully it gets resolved for you! They sound like an amazing machine. I dont know how quality can be so low with all these brands and people knowingly and blindly buy them. Something has to change
It's a shame that you guys can't get the Maverick fixed. I can't say enough good things about the outstanding service I got when I blew up my engine after the warranty was over.
@desertsxs I'm in New Brunswick. Probably not too helpful for your situation. I've never been brand loyal but I'm quite surprised CanAm doesn't have your back on this one. Our trail system allows up to 68'' machines only, the local dealership has only sold 3 MavR so far because of the restrictions.
I am really sorry to hear your issues with BRP. They have always been great to deal with for me when the dealer was trying to hose me. I had a 2014 that spun the primary right off the crank leaving the threaded end in the crank. Dealer (Ride Now in Gilbert AZ) tried to tell me BRP was not going to warranty it since it was 3 years old and that it would cost me $3500 to remove the engine and fix the clutch. I asked them to ask BRP again and they said they did and the answer was no. I called BRP and they told me they had told the dealer they would fix it and pay them to do so. The dealer was trying to double dip me! Needless to say, I went back to the dealer and made them fix it and BRP would cover it as promised. Got a sheepish look from the dealer but they did fix it. Dealers can suck. I hope BRP sees your video and gets on the ball for you.
Purchased a new Mav r less then 50 miles and power steering/ steering rack is blowing fuses not operating since I purchased currently at the dealer still waiting on them to resolve the issue
I’ve had nothing but issues myself had a huge oil leak the 1st day I took it home keep in mind it’s never seen the dirt at this point. And after my 2nd ride my water pump started leaking. It’s currently in the shop getting repaired. BRP has been extremely difficult to deal with. Absolutely does not care about the customer.
This is what I ride bikes I can fix myself! I do all my work unless it welding and I got a buddy 2 houses down that does all that! He also changes and balances tires I do all the wrench work he puts the tire on and balances it with his machine! I keep fresh rubber on all my stuff all 4 cars and 3 bikes!
I was about to buy a 24 , mav r , xrs smart shox dealer was set on 38,500 out the door is that an ok deal? The car has been sitting outside so some plastics are slightly faded and what not
I have been very up in the air on whether I wanted to get a can-Am maverick r or Polaris pro R. I really like both cars before driving either one of them. I got the chance to drive both cars at camp Razor. When I got out of the Maverick R I can honestly say there was not one single thing about the car that I liked. I hated everything about it. When I got out of the pro R I can honestly say there was not one single thing that I did not like about it. I absolutely loved it. Just my personal opinion.
The constant lies. Dealer should just be straight up about it. Say they can't get a part and the machine is just sitting there instead of constantly lying and saying it's on the lift now, or it will be done in a couple days.
@thmike Some of the dealers don't pay or treat techs well. The good, trainable ones eventually leave. New techs are only parts changers, no experience yet or diagnostic skills. The dealer principals are very focused on sales, service is an afterthought and controlled expense.
my brothers 2024 can am x3 has been in the shop for months. had a tick right when he bought it. has like 200 mioes on it. My 2024 yamaha yxz has been perfect. and I absolutley treat it like shit. I do change oil tho 1300 miles in 4 months.
As much as BRP is dropping the ball on your Mav r, your dealership is the first line of defense! I work at a powersport dealership and when we encountered part delays that were months and months away, we got the manufacturer to pull production parts off the assembly line for the customer vehicle and ship them to us to avoid unruly customers. Your dealership needs to submit a case to BRP and get this resolved! They are the only ones who have the power to come up with a resolution
Good details guys. I did the EVP stage 1 tune and DCT tune. I don't like the DCT tune. mode 1 is too lazy and sport mode "2" is too aggressive, downshifts too fast, holds the rpm too long etc. I did 900 miles in baja last week with it. Not happy . Also had the tranny locked in Auto mode. Found a vid on how to unlock that and will do that shortly. Hopefully that works. I bought this rig in sept of last year and it was in the shop for 4 months with an engine than tranny leak. That got fixed. This thing rips but like you said and I'll say, they are not perfect and do have problems.
@@desertsxs for the time being it's fixed. It's a bit scary to hear about all your problems and I wasn't aware of so many problems from all the owners. I raced my x3 hard for many years and its a good utv. This one hopefully will get there. Good luck with yours.
I wanted to go with the more easily fixable belt car, so I opted for a 23 X3 instead of the Mav R and now all of us p-drive clutch owners are having issues with the secondary spinning due to the primary not fully releasing at idle and possible alignment issues. BRP dealerships got a bulletin to replace the arm weights and spring cup in 2022 but this never fixed anything and all the new cars have the same issue. IBEXX claims the primary spring is binding and can be fixed with their $28 spring just requiring us to split the primary. Great for a 30-40k brand new car.
I have 250mi on mine, 150mi of it has been light drivetrain break-in miles. No issues so far, but of course that's not a lot of miles 🤷♂. I have been invited to a Baja trip this winter and I am a little skeptical now. I don't want to break something like a bolt or an a-arm (even though I have the later '24 model) in the first 100 miles and then be totally screwed somewhere in Baja 😅
I’m super stoked you guys did this episode! I’m in between a Pro R and Maverick R $50 K, well, close to it anyways, is a LOT of $ for a guy like me. Everyone keeps telling me to get the Pro XP because both of these other machines have had problems. I’d be pissed if I couldn’t ride.
@@kennybeaudrie9021 I haven’t had any issues or my close friends. I did have a ground not tightened down that made it seem like an electrical issue but just needed a nut tightened.
@@kennybeaudrie9021 polaris quality has actually gotten a lot better the last few years. As an owner of a 2015 vs a 24 the difference in quality is impressive fit and finish is top notch. If you're waiting yet a 25 pro r definitely can't beat they even have 1 with heated and cooled seats now. Also the body lines match up so much sleeker on the 25s. I almost ditched polaris until I seen their newer machines, I just have a regular 24xp 1k but it's been a solid machine and I'm not easy on it either.
I am guessing the speed ones you are talking about. Yes it was the first couple hundred ones with the issues but they have gotten better since then with reliability
The PRO R is reliable, but my primary clutch (inner sheave) exploded and broke all other components including clutch box. No tune, no clutch kit. Did you see this clutch issues?
@@dingusflingus to be honest I have put fancy aftermarket billet clutches on my boosted pro r and The life span of these seem to be less but perform better
Whats considered gen 1 and gen 2. I had transmission problems out of my first maverick r. It only had 66 miles. Instead of dealing with warranty and waiting months i traded it in. Lost 5k but 2nd car has been great so far
I don’t think they call it it gen 2 themselves we do. But the later models of 24 will have updates like the lower an arm being stronger and some little tweaks here and there
@ I mean the "I'll fix that", or the "I have that part. Here you go." attitude that camp rzr is all about. The overwhelming good will of polaris compared to the, "I can't help you right now" of can am.
So friend of mine here in Havasu has had the same issue with BRP... 2 years now, his seadoo has been sitting at Anderson Powersports for a massive paint issue... He's done the same as you woth moving up the chain of command... they offered to have a local shop wrap it for him and call it good lol. Hes been going back and forth for 2 years now and they said they will give him a $5000 credit towards a new gtx 300 lmtd. His ski has 13hrs on it lol. They have had it basically the whole time he has owned it.
Yep sounds familiar I think I have seen him there as they point him out saying at least you aren’t that guy it’s been 2 years for him. As if that makes me feel better lol
@desertsxs Have you ever thought about taking it to a shop in PHX or CA? There's gott be some good warranty shops down there? Maybe Coyne? I bet there's some good info or suggests on Nick Farmers Desert Whips page... Too bad Guiboa doesn't do factory warranty work.
I work at a dealership, and yes, it's ridiculous. Brp parts are so far out, and when we get closer to the date of delivery, they push back the date another month. It's a damn joke over at brp right now for parts on all 24 models
@@desertsxsReally? Well I can’t say I negotiated with them because they told me this price the first time I called and I couldn’t get them to budge anymore. Ironically I found them while watching RUclips because of some random video of someone saying they had buyer’s remorse because the price had come down so much lol. I had to zoom in and pause several times to see what the name of the dealer was on the door 😅. My $22 RUclips subscription at that point paid off lol 😁👍
What is the problem with the water pumps? Failing due to quality, or is something else hurting the pumps? Is the delay of replacement pumps due to a new designed water pump?
Brp customer service sucks, my first purchase from brp a 2024 x3 turbo rr. Spent months in shop for mil light. Piss poor customer service. No district service manager to assist dealership with repairs.
I have a talon and love the dct but wanted a higher performance machine. I would be furious if I couldn't get parts for a machine. I got a great deal on a top of the line x3 and bought that instead of the Mav R.
Definitely making me nervous I just bought a Mav R. I need to see if I can get the warranty extended. I also have a 2024 XP polaris that is intermittently throwing check engine lights since 500 miles. This must be why people are fed up with these brands. Never had one issue with my X3 though. Time to lawyer up these large corporations suck. Unfortunately we keep giving them our hard earned money.
The biggest issue is the cars have soo many electronics and complicate systems the technicians are not trained to diagnose. BRP does not train their techs, they just send sheets of instructions of what to do. This does not help the techs be a diagnostic mechanic.
CanAm about find out that their not to big to get social media outed. Also, the corporates (not just CanAm) need to do a better job of holding their dealerships accountable. It's like they just give out dealership licenses to anyone, not even checking if a place is qualified to sell and work on the stuff they sell.
I got my mav r in June of this year. Luckily I have had no problems with it yet. Although I’m just getting to 300 miles. Meh one parking lot slow roll over. Yes big rut lmao. But all is good. Sounds like he needs to sue the dealer and Brp. 7 months I ridiculous and the lying. lol. He’ll to the naw.
Yuup, got a 2020 talon r on 35s no issues just had the valves adjusted at 400 hrs, still on stock axles stock steering box and stock motor, great machines😊
My 2019 talon 1000x 2 seater had problems. Front wheel drive would not work at 3000 miles. The whole wire harness replaced by warranty. Didn't fix it. Front transaxle replaced by warranty . Didn't fix it. electronic control module replaced fixed the problem. Talon sat in the shop for 5 months. Everything fixed. Now the transmission took a shit at 8,000 miles. Out of warranty now. Looking for a used tranny now
I have a 2024 Pro R that I have over 2K miles, ridden in sand, desert, mountains even snow. Zero issues. Every group ride we go on it always seems like the Can Am's are having issues. Overheating, broken A-Arms, burning oil and some other weird stuff. Both of my Brother in Laws have Pro R's, Zero issues. Can Am's are amazing machines, but they do seem to be more problematic. Sorry for your issues, hopefully BRP will get the message and get right with their customer service and QC.
Y’all need to ask the boys at S3 power sports are they having problems with their cam am race team about getting parts to fix their Can-Am sponsored race car that they drive just about every month all over the Baja and King of the hammers Dustin Jones at S3 motorsports is the driver S3 motorsports is in Louisiana. Just hit them up and ask them questions. Maybe he might be able to make the concerns heard.
Sounds like more dealership issues. They are always more interested in make a new big sale over doing service. Which sucks, because service and support is what keeps repeat business coming back. Poor service and support create 1 time sales.
Can-am has always been that way! Main problem is the tecks are not tecks at all their kids! Trust me I’ve worked at a polaris shop for 20+ years,I’m 55 “tecks” / kids were always asking me how to do certain tasks! Now I got my own shop in Alaska. All the dealers up here are silver spooned daddy bought me it. PUSSIES!
The big issue with your issues comes from brp. As a Canadian you would understand it's all about Quebec thinking and how they do things. We are 2 systems in Canada and the French way and the rest of us. They do make a great product in many ways but also one stuck within the Quebec system. Brp makes planes and trains too and they all suffer from the same issues.
@desertsxs I feel you on that for sure. It does come down to dealer in the end. If the dealer is willing to go to bat for you things happen. My front drive shaft sheered off at the divider. And the right dealer got it covered even after warranty expired and I only got the 6 month default warranty. Brp doesn't listen to its consumers but they will listen to the dealers way more! They just view consumers like cattle. Bring em in to feed.
Sounds like a combination of issues between dealer repair and manufacturer. i do agree that BRP is having horrible parts problem. But i would start a lawsuit and sue the dealership and BRP directly. There is lawyers that specialize this.
well I listened to you guys story and all I can do is pray for you that some day you will realise that god made honda and yamaha for people that want to be able to ride any time you want because they dont break down all the time and if they do you can quickly get parts .well my knees are getting sore so I cant pray for you any more today. so I am going out to ride my yamaha, LOL
They are nice but the only 2 cars right now worth buying for this channel are the PRO R or Mav R . Everything else is good at some stuff but those 2 are the best at them.
lol your poor knees haha. The pro r is reliable. But yes you have a valid point. I could just drive like miss daisy and they would Hold up but that’s not fun
@@desertsxs your just use to being the fastest guy out there and you are kinda of a adrenaline junky lol there is nothing wrong with that . I could not imagine waiting months. my yamaha only goes 72 but gets there pretty quick. and I am on trails not desert. one day I plan on getting out there and run side by side so I see how fast you guys really are I am sure its amazing .
Your situation sure scares me as much. I had my front drive shaft sheer off and it happened 2 days after warranty expired. Was given bad information about the issue from 1 dealer in Idaho that said it was speed sensors. 3 months later I took it to a dealer closer to home and no even the selling dealer which had even worse service. That's when the shaft sheered off issue was discovered. But they went to battle for me and got it covered. So grateful for this dealer and I'll be buying all my future parts and new machines from them. It seems to be a huge hit and miss with dealers even in Canada.
You guys need to get with my dealer in Medford Oregon. I haven’t had issues with my car cause it’s brand new but he has personal told me issues that he has been able to push through brp…. call Ted at water world in Medford Oregon
@@desertsxs ted is the man and will do whatever it takes to get your car in and out as fast as possible, again i have not had any issues with my 4 seater yet but he said no matter what, bring it in and we will fix it.
Not to mention that you $50,000 car is sitting outside getting weather checked for a year. Just getting its ass locked by the elements. Total bs. At least polairs does a recall on everything and realizes the issues and takes care of the customer.
Sometimes these big corporations need a good class action lawsuit to put them in their place. I’ve never heard brp being so ignorant when it comes to their customers seems that different people own them now and they really don’t care about their customers anymore
I bought a Mav R because my Evo modified x3 blew belts after having them work on it 3times ay Glamis and ruining all 3 trips. Now after rebuilding the x3 trans since the belt blew a hole in the case and took out the bearings I am on my way to Glamis with my Mav R and all I can say is thanks for ruining my confidence. I spent a ton of money again with Evo getting the ecu unlocked and the trans reprogram and they already screwed me again by not including the charge tube I need for the reference signal for the rising rate fuel pump. 20k on Evo upgrades and every breakdown was due to horrible support from Evo. I 100% agree on BRP not giving a crap about reliability issues. I was at UTV takeover and they blew me off when I needed a software update they could have done on the spot but instead they told me to take it to the dealer because they were too lazy. My friend took his new polaris to the factory tent and they spent 45 minutes with him explaining all the features on the car. Polaris, I commend you, BRP, I hope you loose lots of customers from this video.

Ya trying to make it aware
That’s why you go to COYNE POWERSPORTS
Thanks
Thinking of changing my mine to a krx

It's a shame that you guys can't get the Maverick fixed. I can't say enough good things about the outstanding service I got when I blew up my engine after the warranty was over.
Really what dealer. I’m glad you got yours fixed. I’m desperate for sure
@ oh ya the mav r is a wide car even out here in the open desert it gets tight sometimes
Robby was leaving a lot of his customers out for dry unfortunately just can’t look past that. Was waiting on parts for an entire year!

Oh dang sorry to hear that
If you don’t want to wait, it’s a wire pinched trace steering rack wires you’ll find it.
@ I think most of the issues stem from the wiring being pinched
But they don’t want to run with that info
They told me it’s from user error explained that since I purchased the car it’s had issues with the steering components
So its not just the Speeds that have issues with new models???
Nope I think most due definitely some brands have more issues than others. I would say the pro r has been pretty good out of the box.

Not sure what best deals are right now. I would do some looking to see if
I seen this video like the week after buying a smart shox model. So far 140 miles
Ya some seem to run really good and can take a beating. Hope you got a good one.
Mav r does take some time to get used too but yes pro r is great all across the board easy to drive get in and go
You got to show up with your lawyers to these dealers. BTW who are these dealers? The community needs to know
How is it a dealer issue tho? They cannot fix anything they don’t have parts for!
Ya dang
As much as BRP is dropping the ball on your Mav r, your dealership is the first line of defense! I work at a powersport dealership and when we encountered part delays that were months and months away, we got the manufacturer to pull production parts off the assembly line for the customer vehicle and ship them to us to avoid unruly customers. Your dealership needs to submit a case to BRP and get this resolved! They are the only ones who have the power to come up with a resolution
You guys are the spitting image of what dealer should do. That is awesome what is your dealership.

What production dates separate gen 1 and Gen 2
Not sure on dates lower a arm will be visible that it’s stronger
I have a rs1 2018 and no issues at all but the clutching sucks but i finally got it straightened out
Ya nice
Ya I’m glad you got if fixed
Oh dang I had herd the p clutch was good
I have 250mi on mine, 150mi of it has been light drivetrain break-in miles. No issues so far, but of course that's not a lot of miles 🤷♂. I have been invited to a Baja trip this winter and I am a little skeptical now. I don’t think they call it it gen 2 themselves we do. But the later models of 24 will have updates like the lower an arm being stronger and some little tweaks here and there
How much of that is the dealer and not Can Am? Just asking. I have no Idea.
I think it could be both but I have talked to both of them and we are all on the same email neither is stepping up

He's done the same as you woth moving up the chain of command... they offered to have a local shop wrap it for him and call it good lol.
Ya I would love to see how to figure this stuff out
After seeing all the transmission issues, I sure am glad my Pro R has a belt.
I wonder if it's the canam specific dealers

Polaris did the same thing on the XP1000s. They knew they had a problem with bad bearings in the transmission.

The biggest issue is the cars have soo many electronics and complicate systems the technicians are not trained to diagnose. BRP does not train their techs, they just send sheets of instructions of what to do. This does not help the techs be a diagnostic mechanic.

That’s interesting. They just don’t really seem to care I feel
