Park dong hoon is just a good adult being nice and responsible for the next generation and his people. This drama is all about the roles and responsibility of adults and presents how life and mindset of young men may improve by good adults and mentors.
There is a lot to say about this episode: once again we see the real Ji-an, although this time in another side of her being, because if in the bar scene we finally see her melt into a real smile, this time she leaves all the walls she had erected around her in a liberating cry fell; this is because, for the first time, the reaction she received from someone who learned of her sin was not one of blaming her, but one of acceptance, understanding and, in a sense, approval because she did it for stand up for her grandmother; in addition to this, for the first time there is someone who is fighting for her even and above all after discovering the truth. All this translates into that cry mentioned above, a liberating outburst after so long that she kept those feelings and emotions inside her. A very intense scene. Dong-hoon, on the other hand, cannot stand injustices and abuses and, as he did for his brother when he was humiliated by the man in the building, here he does the same, in a certain sense feeling responsible as an adult towards a very young woman his subordinate. At least that's how I see it. Yes, Jeonghee apparently had a relationship with Gyumduk when they were young, but that he ended when he became a monk. As you have seen, both Dong-hoon, who used to be her best friend, and her mother, keep visiting him, even though they keep it hidden from Jeonghee so as not to make her suffer. I must say that this part of the plot is perhaps the most sketchy of all, although completely in line with the themes of the series. Yoo Ra is finally recovering, but she still suffers a lot of pressure that she receives, Ki-hoon feels responsible for it, but it is also evident that she has feelings; their relationship is peculiar. As he said a few episodes ago, Dong-hoon prefers not to know, not to say, ignore unpleasant things in order not to ruin an apparent normality of interpersonal relationships, for this reason he didn't want Yoon-hee to know that he knew about his betrayal, because at that moment he will be forced to face it and will no longer be able to ignore it. There is a lot of Korean culture in this series.
Thank you very much for this. I really appreciate you sharing your thoughts. I very much agree with what you said. This episode has really been a heartfelt episode. I wanted to know more of the Jeonghee and Gyumduk backstory. I am really looking forward to that. Again, thank you for sharing! 🤗💛
Yes, adultery was once a crime in Korea until 2005 I believe., people went to prison for it. I also believe that in Korean culture adulteresses are openly stigmatised, distained and branded as dishonourable women perhaps a Korean viewer could correct me on that. I also believe that if he so chose, Dong Hoon could deny her a divorce. In order for a family court to grant her one, the onus would be on Yoon hee to prove it was Dong Hoon who was the offending marital partner, As a lawyer she would know this, which is probably why she said that they needed to be careful that he did not become vindictive towards them. Certainly when Dong Hoon discovered the identity of who she committed adultery with, there was not a snow balls chance in hell that he would cooperate with same people who tried to destroy his life.
The old man, Seo Choon Dae, was the first person who took care of Ji-an when she was young. Park Dong-hoon is the first person who sided with her even after he found out who she really was. She now knows that she has a person who can be trusted and this will bring a huge change in her life.
Thank you so much for this. I really appreciate this and yes, watching drama can really help me understand the different culture of different country. Thank you again for watching~
I remember when I first saw this episode, I legit cried tears of anger because knowing Ji An's past reminded me of someone I know in real life who went through sort of the same thing where her family inherited all the debt her mom left behind and basically ruined their lives, forcing them to move and give up their life here.
Watching the series has been heartbreaking for me and now you know someone who has undergone the same pain 🥺😔 I hope that the person you are talking about is doing better now 💛 I wish her genuine happiness in life.
@@lykscamerareviews thanks, they are getting by ok, but had to move back to their home country. i think many of these situations in the drama, while they did not happen exactly the way they did here, i see many bits and pieces of each character in some people i do know in real life, dve myself, which is why this drama has left an everlasting impression on me.
this is one of my favorite dramas. excited to see a notification of your reaction to this one. Also one of my favs is "its ok to not be ok", i hope one day i could see you reacting to it as well. Hope you have a great holliday this upcoming season.
Aww thank you so much for this! 💛 I will definitely consider watching that drama, maybe after one more year 😅 I have watched it the same year it was aired but I wasn't able to rewatch it yet 😊
역시 리액션 맛집 ㅅㅅ 너무 재밌게 봤어요. 4:40 There is a superstition that saying negative things makes it a reality. So, although they can't undo what they've already said, they try to erase what they've already said by making a spitting noise instead.
that ending. one of my fav scenes of all time. love that scene.
